A TRAFFIC MANAGER WORTH HIS SALT WOULD HAVE MADE SURE THE VEHICLE HAD ENOUGH OIL, WATER, ETC., FOR THE JOURNEY IN THE HIGH TEMPERATURES OF THE NORTH.

The incident happened just after the bus passed Zabzugu township, about five kilometres away from its destination, around 2000 hours GMT, and there was no fire tender to douse the flame.

SUE THE COMPOANY. ITS TIME THE PPL RISE UP N DEMAND BETTER SERVICE N ACCOUTABILITY. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED, BUT IT WASNT BCOS SOMEONE. EITHER THE DRIVER OR PPL WORKING AT METRO MASS WERE NEGLIGENT, PUTTING PPLS LIFE AT RISK. NOW LOOK. SUE THE COMPANY. NEXTTIME, THEY WILL LEARN.

CHANCES ARE THEY COULD HAVE USED THEM TO DOUSE THE FLAMES BEFORE THE FIRE TRUCKS GOT THERE. DO U EVEN HAVE A BRAIN IN THAT HEAD OF YOURS?

And I really do not suffer any problem with trouserly constrictions of any form. Indeed my man in Savile Row would be mortified to think that I should be experiencing such sartorial difficulties as you so scurrilously suggest.

Anyway Old Boy, you shouldn’t knock the UK way of life – It’s delightfully spiffing stuff actually. In fact I am just about to wear said trousers (and all the complementary matching items of course) as I join my UK friends for a cucumber sandwich soiree on the lawn.

Anyway, nice as it is to commune with you I really must go soon as I want to get a couple of wonderfully cool Gins & Tonic ‘down the jolly old hatch’ before the sun goes down. Toodle Pip and all that……………

Oh by the way, I almost forgot. Just for the record, the journalistic report on the bus fire failed to mention whether fire extinguishers were or were not carried on the bus to begin with - let alone offer any facts or opinion on their efficacious use.

I’m afraid the written article was about as good as the accompanying photograph (which depicted a burning saloon car! Good grief!)

The report does make it quite clear however that the Fire Trucks never got there. Quote: ‘There was no fire tender to douse the flame’!

These buses are not stones, they need to go on services and be replaced to save lives and properties.If the company thinks it's not in a position to finance the cost it should close down.

was their not a powder or water fire extisher to put out the fuel leak,electric fire or cigarette butt? Even brake or tire problems will cause fires..I saw burnt trailer today on tow truck, the wheel bearing had caught fire
