Today, at 12:15, Dr. Afari Gyan announced the election results again. If and only if the NPP had won at all the constituencies that had been cancelled, with JDM getting 0 votes, Akufo Addo still had no chance to be president. He emphasized that Mahama actually won the elections. Surely, these guys should stop pursuing the case and strategize for the next elections. Akufu Addo is a good politician but he surrounded himself with the wrong folks. I’m sorry for him that his dreams were shattered by the kind of cheap politics his team resorted to. They can make him a vice presidential candidate next time. I saw tears in his eyes but Jake still had a smile on his face probably saying “I’ll start thinking of the next person to support for the NPP flag bearer slot”.

The essence of serial numI bering is to control and check fraud (in know in Ghana fraud, fraudulent practicese and administrative incompetence are acceptable acts because the majority of the people don't know how to control and chect it).
Thus if Afari Dyan insist that the serial numbering is irrelevant, can he tell Ghanaians the control mechanisims he used to avoid any duplication, errors, doble-counting, etc. This Afari-Dayn man is an utter failure and disgrace. These are what we can in Ga as "man dwalor".

What actually facilitates election rigging, is the lack of a reliable identification scheme in Ghana. I don't care how strict your serial numbering scheme is, it won't stop cheaters who have registered in several constituencies from exercising their dubious franchise. To make Mr Afari-Gyan the culprit in this, is a show of weak mindedness because the problem is systemic, and needs an overhaul going forward.

I wanted to bring your attention to the derogatory way in which you expressed your dis-affection for Mr Afari-Gyan, as a "bushman from Berekum". You ask whether I am laying the blame on Ghana. My response is, the underlying structure is largely to blame for what we witnessed. That there was rigging in this elections, is unquestionable. Just check out the location of the serial numbers on the pink sheets? What's the purpose of duplicated serial numbers at random polling stations? Why can't we have only certain serial numbers at certain polling stations alone. What if all other information can be changed through other means. This is why all widespread documents have serial numbers to determine their origin.

The importance of the EC chairman Dr Afari Gyan's testimony is that it is both authoritative and clear. I personally have no reason to doubt him and his explanation of the "pink sheets" tallies with Asiedu Nketiah's explanation that they were more like bank pay-in slips than cheques!!!

They can be used anywhere and polling stations are identified by their UNIQUE codes, and for each pink sheet used at a polling station, the code, names and signatures of polling agents, party agents etc will identify and differentiate between polling stations with "the same pink sheet serial number. What is so difficult about this and why would anyone cry rigging, irregularity, fraud" etc. when clearly the NPP does not seem to display understanding of the rules and processes involved.

All that Wereko-Brobbey was trying to put across (having failed to get the party leadership to accept and appreciate he, and Mpianim's points) was that the NPP agents had failed to do their jobs or in fact, they did not see anything untoward at the polling stations hence no official complaints; they had brought in a chief witness to court who claimed to have analysed the data and come to his conclusions about massive fraud and irregularities affecting the results.

Yet this chap Dr Bawumia had not even visited any polling station, had not made any effort to fully understand the electoral guidelines and the rules, procedures and most of all the function of the pink sheets.

I am more inclined to believe Dr Afari Gyan who has been quick to admit faults and errors of his agents and yet provided a clear, detailed and full explanation of the workings of his organisation and electoral processes which tie in with what Dr Wereko-Brobbey is saying, having go copies of the guidelines and read through them himself.

We all await his cross-examination but in my view,it would be a gross miscarriage of justice were he justices to rule against the respondents, but these are just my honest views based on the proceedings so far.

I see no smoking gun anywhere now or in the future, and can fully understand why the EC did not bother to present the original data (which are their property and under lock and key) as exhibits to the court.

It's just like telling the Court and Ghanaians that serial numbers on tickets or currencies are irrelevant. This is one heck of a "crazy" excuse. It's as if everyone is a fool, except Afari-Gyan and the NDC. Let's not forget that the 2008 election fraud was a prelude to what happened in the 2012 elections.

The EC & NDC had hoped that their secret plot won't be uncovered. But they're wrong! Their own disgruntled former supporters who'd crossed carpet fed the NPP the "ways & means" that they'd been using to rig the elections.

Let us not lose focus. Although it's difficult to break the jinx esp. when there was no resistance or complains at the various polling stations, during the elections.

Now their bottom have been exposed. They're now telling crazy lies before the Noble Justices. Probably they think our Justices are fools too. Hmmm!

Pink sheets, ballot papers, ballot boxes, polling station stamps, etc. must all have serial numbers. The reason is very simple - for tracking purposes. For example if an "unidentified foreign material" is found in a ballot box with an EC stamp on it how would you differentiate it from the genuine ballot papers from that particular polling station? If the "unidentified foreign material" happens to be a genuine EC ballot paper but smuggled from another polling station? The same applies to ballot boxes. If ballot boxes are not traceable to a particular polling station per an identification number -- what happens if a stuffed ballot box from the NDC'S constituency office or a rogue EC official's home finds it way to a polling station? More importantly. Pink Sheets must be traceable to particular polling stations with their Serial Numbers. The EC must be able to tell Ghanaians these ranges of Pink Sheets were sent to these particular constituencies, districts and polling stations. Otherwise how can they tell if somebody sits in an office at Kuku Hills, or the STL offices at Ridge and completes Pink Sheets and fax to the EC'S Weak Room and tells party reps there as coming from kpetoe? If Serial Numbers on the Pink Sheets and other materials have no relevance to the results of an election then Afari Gyan should be charged with causing financial loss to the State. He could have simply borrowed some of the "free exercise books" that the NDC claimed to have provided to school children and used as ballot papers and pink sheets. Afari Gyan will follow the NDC to Dis-Graceland
