The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”

The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

I am sure the Justices will be asked to make a determination whether NBVNV was constitutional or not. Afari Gyan is the Electoral Commissioner and not parliament. Even parliament can pass legislation that can be ruled unconstitutional by the SC.

S.Dikaini, the case is not over yet. In fact, Afari Gyan is yet to face the difficult part of giving evidence. That is, cross examination by the lead counsel for the petitioners (Mr Addison). So do not rush until the SC gives their final verdict.

I will look at the ballot papers and look at whether they fell in the range of serial numbers on the ballot paper”.on quot" My question is, is this man now saying the serial numbers really significant when it comes to ballot boxes? 2.Reference to Claim 4: Same serial numbers, different polling stations

In another relief, the petitioners have said there were same serial numbers on pink sheets for different polling stations, which meant the results should be annulled. But Afari-Gyan insisted: “Serial numbers have no significance in the preparation and collation of results”. Please sombody help here.

@ Ziggy, Afari Gyan is not talking about serial numbers on ballot boxes as he has already said there were no serial numbers on the boxes but rather refering to serial numbers on the ballot sheets. If you remember, the polling stations were supplied with a set of booklets which contained the ballot sheets on which every voter will thumb print thier chosen candidate. The serial numbers on these booklets falls in a range for eg. ...100 to ...200 and in case of any over voting, he would check to establish which ballot sheet number falls outside this range in order to disqualify that particular ballot sheet or sheets so the rest can be counted and declared. On the second point as far as same serial numbers on the pink sheets as concerned, they are not relevant because what is relevant on the pink sheet are the polling station name and code, the actual data on the pink sheet for eg. the number of voters registered and eligible to vote at any given polling station and the actual votes counted. So in summary, the serial numbers on the pink sheet is different from the polling station name and code written on the pink sheet and it is this name and code which is used to differentiate one polling station from another and not the serial numbers found on the pink sheet. Hope this explanation helps.

I don't think a declared winner by the EC and a sworn president by the chief justice would take it lightly if the verdict goes against him and having the national security and the Armed Forces under his control anything can happen regardless his promise to accept the verdict in good faith and i know very well that the NPP too is not ready to swallow that bitter pill if the verdict goes against them and for sure this trial won't end peacefully therefore we must not stop praying. It is not about the end but the acceptance of the ruling and my special prayers for all the nine judges for taking this risky job and not forgetting Afari Djan too. How can a PhD holder tell the whole world there are no control mechanisms in the organization of a credible election of a country's leaders? Why would elections materials be issued haphazardly and unsystematically without any THOUGHT of controls at every stage of events for the sake of credibility?

What are the significances of(serial) numbers on the ballot-boxes/ballot-papers/pink-sheets/stamps/polling-stations? Are they just decorations to grace the conduct of the polls or Ghanaians are being taken fools?

With all these indefensible excuses, how does Afari Gyan expect anybody to believe that he is an experienced Electoral Commissioner who has for the past 20 years or so conducted fair elections in Ghana. A report published by European Union observers of the 2008 elections listed similar irregularities that occurred in the 2012 elections and made a number of recommendations. Perhaps he never even bothered to read the report before the last elections. He proudly claims to have been a consultant to or worked under the U.N. in a number of overseas countries on electoral matters. "Aba"! Is that how he came about his definition of "classical over-voting"? Who is he trying to fool? It appears to me that under him Ghana's elections have only been conducted in a very shoddy manner ( completely unlike when Justice V. Crabbe was incharge of the EC). I suggest that the EC should be merged with the Ghana Census Office(?) whose better procedures and practices could be used to conduct a more transparent and fair elections.

The arguement is that you have to go beyond the evidence on the pink sheet before a result can be annulled.The polling station I voted is in contention at the SC. The pink sheets says that the number of registered voters were 342 and total vote casted was 626. Based on this, there is clear over-voting but the number of registered voters in the polling station register is 679.I spent over 6 hours in the queue to vote and I can testify that this is a typical error by the EC official. I was there when the vote was counted and I remember Mahama=314 and Nana Addo= 217. So I can see that the case is delicate and someone is not telling the truth.

Afari Gyan has not yet even been cross-examined by the counsel of petiotioners, but behaving like his stand in the witness box is over.By him (a witness, rather than a counsel)appealing to the judges in this manner, he's over-stepped his boundry in that court room.

By that request, psychologically, it's revealing that he's scared of what his misdeeds could bring to Ghana and his conciensce, therefore asking the court to stay the cooked electoral results he announced in December 2012.
