My humble appeal to the IRS, trade minister and all stakeholders is, reduce the import duties and definitely you will get more money. The genuine amounts are so high such that we all negotiate to under value, under invoice etc. almost 30 percent goes to customs and DICs. How could we pay duties of almost 50-60% on goods and sell to make profit. Containers are only a fraction charged and rest goes to importer, agent and custom officers. Be realistic and government will be laughing to the bank. Go and asked the Lebanese and oil companies and their agents. Even ministers wives who are traders are all involved. Infact the whole country including religious leaders who brings in goods.

All DicS are thieves. They know their favourites. Government should wake up from their slumber. Set realistic tariffs for all.
