  President John Dramani Mahama has directed the state security agencies to declare a security alert at all important public buildings and installations across the country.
  
  A twenty?five thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢25,000) package has also been announced to reward any person who provides information leading to the arrest of suspected arsonists.
  
  The directive, according to Chief of Staff Prosper Bani, follows updated security briefings received by the president on the recent fire outbreaks in various markets in the country.

  If this news is really true, the MCE should be punished severely to the extent of instant dismissal and prison term. Politics should not come into this because what is going on in Ghana, is slowly, destroying the very foundation of our nation. If this galamsey whatever is not stopped, Ghana and her citizens, will cry blood in the future for not stopping this evil way of mining for precious metals.
  
  At times, we are quickly to blame the Chinese but the onus fall on Ghanaians who act as "front men" for the foreigners because a Chinese cannot enter into Ghana and start mining gold anywhere. Commonsense should tell us.

  This MCE from Dunkwa is an opportunist. He did not come to serve the people, he came to enrich himself at the expense of the people. He was a teacher turned politician. He would be seen lurking around the Ghana Commercial bank premises in those days when he came to collect his salary at the end of the month. He wrote letters about bank officials to the regional minister in Cape Coast in years gone by. He has done well by all standards, and now this. Any way this is politics in Ghana, the outcome of his arrest could be anyone's guess. People from Dunkwa know him very well. Whenever/where ever you see these Chinese nationals engaging in serious galamsey mining you must know there is a Chief or a politician behind. What a shame, Ghana. For pittance we will sell our land and conscience. I bet you the MCE is not alone. He might have shared the booty/bribery with his cronies.
