Almost all supermarkets in usa are required to have public toilets, Malls must have toilets, places to eat have to have public toilets. Unless the place is carry out( even then the employees have to have toilets and way to wash hands) Most toilets in supermarkets are bigger than people bedrooms. 3 -4 urinals and 4 toilets..toilets at airports in usa are huge....10 toilets and 10 urinals..outdoor festivals have to have portable toilets!

However, I think we are still in Stage 2 of Human Organizational Development (Stage 1 is Family Development) – self Help Voluntary without government.

God have mercy on us!!

I can list many of such things in the last 40 years but when East Legon built their voluntary Police Station without a Town Council, when light bulbs burned out, there was nobody to replace them!

Our people love their families and towns at home but this is not the way to manage sustainably in any human society,, but all the same, it is good to give to the needy. All these tea-drinking Organizations created for Migration and so forth are good for Economists but that is not how you build nations.

It is nice to read but why can’t we learn like other nations have done?

There is no Formula!!Where is the formula for nation-building?
We need a formula!!

My suggestion would be for the Government to give all the local Hospitals to the charge of the Town Councils wit elected Mayor, District Hospitals in the charge of the DCE and District Administration, and the Regional Hospitals like Ho, Koforidua, Korle Bu in charge of the Regions, whose leaders will be voted for as President Mahama has agreed to do by the end of 2013. A leader elected by the people will have more conscience and will be on the lookout under local peer-pressure to manage and deliver and account to the people.

BTW, even in America koraaa, as Chief Director or Roads and Highways Anthony Essilfie once said, health care has been hijacked by Insurance companies and Private Hospitals for profit but despite the capitalistic system, local hospitals exist which are managed by Boards of directors appointed and voted for during elections.

Democracy is very complicated and if a few dot want to merely exploit others being in government for their wealth, expensive vehicles, gold chains and so forth, then we need to manage our nation using a Formula,, most of which have been developed elsewhere and tried and tested and just needs to be debated in our society and adapted. Period.

Ghanaian diasporans lose hope in helping the country because of the impediments they face in making such donations.I have had a very bad experience donating drugs to hospitals years ago.I swore never to help again!
