The average Ghanaian is suffering because of this foolish and short-sighted policy to protect a flagging local industry that is always crying for help. These taxes have not encouraged more production, have not created jobs, but have raised the retail price of rice. Common sense says scrap the tax or lower it (it is 12.4% in Cote d'Ivoire).

This is no news to some of us.What benefit does this sort of awards bring to the citizenry? Mr Kuffour left the presidency of Ghana by improving on his lots whiles the level of poverty remains and continues to be high in the country. I dont ''eat'' the appointments of these so called politicians and elites. Those who want to make capital of this can do it without making any impact on my day to day live. Ghanaians should disregard these high profile appointments which go to benefit the beneficiaries and their families. Having projected them by offering the public positions, this is how afr they can go.
