The government of Ghana should desist from diverting scant resources to "feed these political expedient" handouts.This two million Cedis fund could be used to build drainage system at Weija or pave some roads instead of this big daddy donations to businesses that fail to insure themselves against such unfortunate incidences.
We really need to have a massive shift in our mindset and our government should lead the way through mass education as to the limited role they ought to play in our lives.What it boils down to is holding each one of us accountable to our own actions.The government,albeit the thinking of majority of the citizenry,is NOT our caretaker.We can do bad all by ourselves.It's this dependence mentality that invigorates our representatives to loot us with impunity because they can lay the claim of "helping us out" in times of adversity.We should stop replacing our freedoms and liberties with the crumbs they dish out to us under the guise of being sympathetic.
Businesses should be educated to understand the need to BUY protection against theft,fire and other unforeseen future occurrences instead of looking to Devine protection.
God would not extinguish fires.Hence the knowledge to purchase INSURANCE and it should be a public policy to tie the issuance of permits to do business with the purchase of protection so no one comes out to show his/her sympathies when the unfortunate happens.
