  In any well structured investigation, be it scientific or social, a HYPOTHESES is developed to form the bases upon which facts can be derived. Mr. Baako or any of those NPP commentators who are off handedly trying to rule out arson as one of the bases for investigating the rampant fire out brakes are either exhibiting their gross ignorance or are as usual, just trying to throw dust into the eyes of the public. It could also be a ploy to cover up a very important lead that could help unravel the real cause of the problem confronting the nation. That of course, exposes NPP as a prime suspect in this national calamity.
  
  I was very disappointed last Saturday when I heard no mean a person than Mr. Joe Gartey, a former AG in the Kufuor administration condemning president Mahama for including arson as one of the areas to be investigated. Well, his could be purely for political advantage. As for Mr. Baako, who is supposed to be educating the public as he claims to be a "seasoned journalist" to join the NPP propaganda team to mis-inform the general public was the lowest he could ever sink.

  There is nothing wrong with admitting that the country's intelligence is not capable of doing certain things. It is no secret that we are not well equipped as a nation and may not even have the requisite forensics know-how. Forensics is a very demanding and high tech science. Indeed admitting is the first step to dealing with one's inadequacies. It is far better than propounding theories about mice eating electrical cables. Interesting to note that "legal luminaries" have become forensic scientists isn't it? Let the international experts do the job they've been brought in to do and we may get some answers instead of pre-judging events, just like you are accusing the government of doing. The pattern and frequency, and the fact that such acts only happen during "certain political cycles" is enough to raise doubts and the administration is right to suspect arson. Leave the experts alone to do their investigations. They may also teach our security experts a thing or two in forensics.

  If the President is so sure that the fire was caused by arsonist,why then bring in experts from America?Why don`t the Security Officials look for and arrest the arsonist,but bring in investigators from America,which i am sure is not for free.
  Normally leaders are suppose to be innovative,creative and full of vision,but so far,Mahama is proving not to have these qualities,he talks like Aseidu-Nketia or Sir John.He is too partisian.
  Hope he will change and do something to unite the nation.

  As reproduced by the paper, the Govt is saying that "...the recent fires might have been caused by arsonists..." (paragraph 2 above). The catch word is MIGHT which entails a doubt. Even though the Govt feels the fires are the work of an arsonist it is simply voicing what they think as regards the circumstances of the fires. Approx 95% of people whose comments I have heard or read have not ruled out arson.
  
  He further states that the President and security agencies cannot speculate. When 9/11 occured in the US and before Osama Bin Laden was proved to be the architect, President Bush and most of his appointees stated that they suspect the hand of Alqeada in the attacks.
  
  The Govt did not say the fires are the work of arsonists but that they suspect arsonist. If anyone alive today thinks all these fires are normal occurences, then that person needs a medical doctor urgently.
  
  Frankly, Kweku Baako should analyse things properly before opening his mouth. This trend of viewwing everything in political light is just NOT good for the country. The result will be that even if someone who is not an NDC member makes a good suggestion, it could easily be brushed aside as coming from the other camp. I said COULD!!!

  Arson could be part of the fire outbreak,i don't see reason why the president and his securities can't speculate about it...It could be part of conspiracy theories..because there are still some people in Ghana who stands publicly and say , they wont allow this administration to function..So they should look on various avenues,wherether it is arson,or whatever issue that engulf these kinds of fire..this is not a time for criticism..it is a time for solution

  Rodents are just like human beings, they do not have hoof that protect them from electric shock, thus in most cases as soon as the teeth of the rodent get is torch with an electric cable caring current it will be electrocuted. Birds sit on exposed electric wires, but in that case their body is in torch with the negative or positive and that is the reason why bigger birds like eagle and hock get electrocuted. In most cases since the cable going into the market is of smaller diameter than the one on the pole it is burn out. If the burning cable does not come into contact with wood there will not be fire.
