Even in 2004 the certificateless Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey call the result for the NPP before Afari Djan declared the NPP winners of the election. But today when its someone's turn to lead the nation, you find it unacceptable right? I can tell you for a fact that, Ghana will know no peace if the NPP wins this court case.

It is true that mistakes happen even in America, but not this type of mistake because either they will not allow it to happen - they will quench it the moment it starts; or if it happens, the person who caused it will be judged and jailed, some times for life. Try to google and check.
But in Ghana, there are people like you who are party sycophants and so will defend blindly. Before you argue, you must try to learn the functions of the EC head to see whether he executed it well or not. Dr. Afari Gyan had lots of responsibilities but they all lead to ensuring that the elections go fair. However, according to people with inside knowledge, premeditated election fraud has been going on since 1992 under the watchful eyes, or possibly with the knowledge of Dr Afari-Gyan. Unbeknown to him, the introduction of the Biometric machine was to be a game changer. We must overcome partisan politics and confront the problem, deal with it, and correct the mistakes for a better Ghana.

If indeed he and his team are looking for the truth they could compel the EC to produce the original documents in contention to court so that they match those with what the petitioners have filed with the court so that if there is no merit they dismiss the case. Why I am saying this? as a lay man common sense will agree with mine submission. When Tsatsu Tsikata and other respondents were doing their cross examination the bench were lenient with them and even with his request for the count of the pink sheets was hurriedly granted and look at how the bench is trying to frustrate the petitioners council to the extent that Justice Atuguba in open court could say that the unwillingness of Tsikata & co to make known the pink sheets they are missing is their strategy. If the court fails to unravel the truth, the truth will surely and eventually emerged no matter the suppression.

It must be clear to all by now that Dr Afari Gyan is a courageous, businesslike no-nonsense personality who cannot be intimidated or whose conscience cannot be bought.
So far, the petitioners have not put forward any credible evidence to show that it was Akuffo Addo and not President Mahama who won the 2012 election.
The facts are that: 1. there was no voting abroad; 2. every voter was verified by the BVM (this was the reason the election went into a second day for the BVM's that failed on the first day); 3. there was no ghost or unknown polling stations; 4. what the petitioners claim to be over-voting resulted from errors in the filling of the pink sheets by the presiding officers; 5. there was no multiple voting ie every voter voted only once.
The petitioners first must prove that these irregularities occurred and secondly, they must prove that these irregularities, if they occurred, helped President Mahama to win the election. The petitioners indeed have no case.
Afari Gyan thus prays to the SC to dismiss the petitioners' petition as not credible.

Based on reliable information from insiders who wish to remain anonymous, we have always suspected, election upon election, that preplanned election frauds have been going on at least since 1992, with the knowledge and possibly, connivance of Dr Afari-Gyan. The BVM only aided in exposing his otherwise unsuspecting insidious acts against Ghanaians and disrespect for their right to genuinely choose their leaders.
We respect Dr Afari-Gyan as an elderly man.
Ghanaians thank Dr. Afari-Gyan for heading the EC for the past 20 years and "overseeing" elections, but it would be disgraceful, humiliating and backward-thinking for Ghanaians to thank him for the fraudulent elections; knowing or having reasons to believe that he has over the years overlooked, acquiesced to or participated in intermittent election fraud; a serious perversion of justice against Ghanaians.
We challenge anybody who doubts this to another level: Ghana should introduce lie-detector (machine for detecting lies (even if only for this purpose) and pose this question to Dr Afari-Gyan and we would be vindicated. We were sad to hear Dr Nkrumah say that election rigging in Ghana is like gonorrhea...we have to live by it. We refuse that. Ghanaians can cure it and improve upon it. Let us put put partisan politics aside, let us come out boldly and objectively to confront the so called gonorrhea so that it becomes history.
If Ghanaian judicial system can allow Afari-Gyan to enter a plea bargain - and if he is ready to do that for the sake of a better Ghana - he could expose many things, even from 1992, that could help us improve the electoral system.

The fact that there was overvoting does not mean he has lost in court. But if you do not tell the truth then the court will not believe you and might think you have something to hide!

Why should nana addo must be a president at all cost? NPP are bad losers . All elections in Ghana included which NPP won in 2000 and 2004 were full of bullshit . Blaming innocent Afari Gyan for nothing. elections are won at polling stations not in SC.

The absence of it thereof, indicate that Afari Djan is out of tourch and "incompetent, inefficient" and not fit to have been in the position. The meda is suppose to monitor and guide election coverage.

If Afari Djan is pretending in court that he don 't listen to radio on election day, how was he getting information from the ground. What control mechanism was put in place to get a free flow of information on the ground on the election day?

Why should john mahamana be allowed to play the role as part of the electoral commission?

It is like a thief who has been allowed to choose his own police man to arrest him.

Afari Djan is simply incompetent, dumb and a failure.

People please, don't be overwhelmed with emotions for a party without using common sense first. This guy is supposed to be the EC big boss himself, yet he cannot define over voting, does not know the process of registration, now polling agents are not mandated but a simple right, ndc, think about this, could not bring his own pink sheets due to what he's hiding, afraid to show collation results, claims he never hears any information, is not a lawyer, yet allows presiding officers to practice disregard against the law, has not been objective at all, openly siding with the other side, continuously looking at the ndc councils for guidance, openly and consistently telling lies to the whole world, if this guy trained other African countries in election matters, then please, we all need the famous REVIEW.

Dr Afari has done his job well handled,now what are these Supreme Court Judges doing, just Preceding over two Opposing Opponents urging out before them to proof what, who robbed the other,I see the whole issue as kangaroo court without application of the Supremacy of our Judges,Petitioner should show the Judges evidential proof of Robbing, Supreme Judges will then decide wether it is enough to sanction the Presidential Election Result or not, then further more recommendation can be done,Period,butt look at where we are now,bananas
