Poor Nana Addo. For how long will he continue to endure this humiliation? What else could be more embarassing than for him to watch his nemesis from his sick bed receive all honours and approval from his host? There are fears that this may further aggravate his health or even precipitate his death.
But what does this latest flurry of diplomatic invitations to JM signify?Primo, the embassies in Accra, having followed the election petition midway, have come to the unmistakable conclusion that JM indeed won the election and have advised their govts accordingly. Secundo, the move will help mollify even the few diehard NPP supporters who are living in cloud 9 and may still be thinking that Nana stands a chance at the supreme court. Finally, it is the ultimate imprimatur that every contested leader requires to firmly lead his country in the knowledge that the international community is prepared to work with him instead with his rival. After France, Japan, UK I can forsee the Americans, Italians Scandinavians etc scampering to meet JM even before the year runs out, leaving Nana Addo in the cold.
