The new meters fixed to the poles are very bad, unlike the old meter that gives you a sign when your credit is about to get exhausted, this doesn't. You always have to get to the pole to see if the light on the meter is blin ...

The new meters fixed to the poles are very bad, unlike the old meter that gives you a sign when your credit is about to get exhausted, this doesn't. You always have to get to the pole to see if the light on the meter is blinking red and top up, or you sleep in darkness. The meter catches fire easily. Just 4 days ago, one caught fire around flower pot down. ECG if you care about the safety of us, your consumers, pls God sake do something about the 'killer' meters.

Armed robbers can attack even when lights are on or not. That is not how to deal with security concerns. In any case what your customers are saying is that they are more likely to strike when the lights are out

This is what happens when the wrong heads are in charge of affairs. They will always make the wrong dicition and do the wrong things. Prepaid meters in a country like UK are never on poles and no outsider can get access to these meters. But since in Ghana the brainless are in charge, it will be mountered poles on the street to announce how Ghana can easily put the brainlelss in charge of very sesitive utilities. If you doubt it carefull read Mr. William Boateng's last comments and figure it out for yourself. That statement is from a whole Director of Public Relations of a huge company. Ghanaian electricity consumers are doomed if this is typical of the company's directors.

I am well aware of these meters. Very low quality and extremely cheap. By the time they pass from the factory to the actual consumers hand the price is more that 2000%. I have proof of this. The meters were purchase from a Ch ...

I am well aware of these meters. Very low quality and extremely cheap. By the time they pass from the factory to the actual consumers hand the price is more that 2000%. I have proof of this. The meters were purchase from a Chinese company of which the components were very cheap in quality. Soon the people of Ghana will realise when the readings become faulty and the actual units start depleting. When will the people of Ghana STOP thinking first about feeding their greed and start thinking about the welfare of their mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. We are "SLEEPING" as Ghanaians and until such time when we wake up we will be always the fools.

In south Africa bcos it is pre-paid, your meter is in room or kitchen at your door, you will the units bought and how the meter is reading such units. ECG, placing pre-paid meters on poles in this 21st century means that ECG are not being INNOVATIVE but rather the traditional ways of doing tins.

What type of madness is this, a meter on a pole outside the user's fence. how does this relate to ECG revenue? Mr. Boateng was quoted that "Armed robbers can attack even when lights are on or not. When people want to commit crime they will" ah is this man same? So light does not help in combating crime? Has he got security lights in his house? Well maybe he does not pay anything for electricity usage so he has no idea of meters on poles.
