Yor are right, Mahama and his team including yourself have NO VISION as to which direction you are taking Ghana (as a policy monitor and evaluator can you tell us Mahama's vision for Ghana?).
As result of lack of vision and direction, Mahama is just firefighting Ghana's problems and in the process he has created a chaotic economy where services and conditions are deteriorating in every aspect of the Ghanaian society - no erratic energy supplies, water supply shortages, increased levels of corruption everywhere, fire outbreaks in major economic hubs without any controls and solutions, poor health service delivery, and rampant strikes.
Poverty is the result of bad economic decisions and dismal political performance.
Hence Ghana is poor and cannot rob shoulders with members of the G8. This is not a sociology class, Tony Aidoo, who only torments Sociology 101 students.

Secondly, I am surprised that with all the years in politics, Tony Aidoo has still not learnt that there is no fairness in international relations or trade. There are no principles in that area of life and nobody is expected to operate on honesty and trust. International Relations is a perfected art-form of hypocrisy and skulduggery.

In any case, for all these years that Tony Aidoo has been in govt, didnt he see it fit to give this advice? The NDC govts in the past and present have not only been frantically begging but they, particularly Rawlings, have also been virtually giving out our state assets for virtually free to the same people we have been begging from.

It is a pity that now that Tony Aidoo seems to be slowly drifting back into the company of thinking human beings, he is unfortunately too old to be of much use.

That is what happens if you are unable to manage your own affairs. Look how much they spent on the elections, compare the progress made to the huge amount of loans and debts piled up for future generations, how can they stop begging? The citizens must stop being "ignorant", they must start fire under the leaders to force them to do what is right, they must demand efficiency, transparency, fairness, etc from their leaders as they do abroad. "They are humans like you and so their hearts lean towards what is bad." Ghana's progress depends on the people, not the leaders and right now they do as they please.

How many Africans produce their own shirts, shoes, televisions, etc. What is Africa's contribution to the world of science and technology? How do you think people will see you and your your continent, if other continents are inventing great things and contributing great scientists, and all your continent can boast of is preaching and prayers?

Foreign Aid is self-defeating. African leaders should recognise that once they go to the G-8/Developed countries with their begging bowls, those leaders are mentally enslaved. It gives the West and Developed countries the opportunity to meddle into affairs of Developing countries.

President John Mahama and African leaders should use the G-8 platform to focus on Foreign Trade and Investment, NOT Aid. Africa has all the human and mineral resources to develop but we lack the right leadership to implement coherent long term sustainable socio economic policies.

It is like telling someone who has lost his mother to lough rather than cry. This is incongruent. The fact is we need to change. We need to put more emphasis on science and development. We need to mobilise our scientists and enthuse them to be more creative.
Japan did not become rich over night. They realised that manufacturing was the key. People used to lough at Japanese goods but look at where they are now. Look at Korea and China. Oil will not make you properous but manufacturing and export will. Look at all the oil producing countries and tell me which one has moved from developing to a developed nation. In UK,emphasis is on science and maths. They have realised that to maintain the status quo maths and science should be rewarded hence special pay for maths and science teachers.
The other possibility is to unite as Africans and put resources together for serious development. How many times have we met at AU summit talking about unity but never made a head way. If we don't evaluate our destiny we will be beggars for ever.

You are right. This affects all Africans. We must first deal with the base that is causing this self-abasement. It is not going to stop until the masses are educated against it. Aware of this, the African Center is educating and empowering Africans and people of African descent to be and to see themselves as equally capable and to be seen as so, to effect changes in their lives, their environs and their home communities/countries.
Such education should be at the heart of the policies of every government, country or a people that want to see a change, to see true progress, to see themselves as equal to other races. In fact it is a deep-seated problem that cannot be tackled overnight.
The future of the African communities and how they want it to be, to a greater extent, depends on Africans themselves. History, therefore, beckons all concerned people...

Provide your populace with jobs, good health services, portable water, sanitation and fully support your budget without being subsidized by the work bank. You schools at all level must graduate students that are equip to deal with the realities in live from practical perspective and great outlets for them upon graduation. May be this is the first time that he has been reported to have said something that makes a 'little' sense, since anything he he's opened his mouth to say is useless. A government who has been in power since 1981 and as at present there isn't stable electricity to attract the investors he is bashing, pregnant women dying on the floor after giving birth because the infrastructure is creaking as it was built by a leader with vision (Nkrumah).And as an objective person i include the NPP too for not accelerating basic infrastructure ie education, health(good policy of the NHIS scheme), roads, electricity and water issues. Until the political elite are selfless and think about we GHANAIANS irrespective of tribe, party i am afraid we will still be in dum sor, no water, bad roads in 2099. Until someone with the heart of the country at hear things will never change. The NDC claims their interest in Education by laying claim to number of schools built not an improved educational system with products to show, this noise making by Tony Aidoo is deafening. He should shut up and leave us in peace. All they do is rig elections and have no idea of how to run the country. As a party they are very dis-organised and this dark cloud hangs over the party with the likes of Felix Kwaakye who recently disgraced himself on TV here in the UK talking arrogantly as he deos in Ghana.
