I know who the arsonists are. They are the irresponsible, inept and incompetent govts who have been given the mandate and privilege by the people of this country to govern the nation but only managed, in cahoots with their hirelings and sycophants, to steal state resources for themselves instead of improving the utilities and public infrastructure.

I think this Akyianu guy should also just shut up and stop betraying his incompetence. Sleeping in the markets indeed! What did he do in his time as Chief Fire Officer to qualitatively improve the competence of the Fire Service to meet the demands of this country? Zilch! As a result of many more of his incompetent kind, before him and after him, today we have to shamefully solicit the assistance of foreigners to come and find out the cause of fires in this country.

Common-sense should tell the few of us in this country who have some of this rare commodity that, when you have a maze of countless illegally installed meters in our markets that feed off the main lines, with each meter over-loaded with scores of other individual illegal users - and added to this, continuous 'dumsor', of course you are bound to have fires here and there.

For me, it surprises me that we dont have many more fires than what we have been having under the present pathetic circumstances.

Why is it hard for authorities to grasp the hard fact that the constant off and on turning of power is the cause of this unfortunate outbreak.
Supposing a trader is in the middle of cooking or doing her/his her with electric comb and faces sudden turn off which usually lasts throughout the night. This trader may forget to switch her appliance or equipment off to ward off this catastrophy. A few days ago the security personnel at makola market where such devastation was heavily felt,was reported hearing a loud explosive noise accompanied by balls of roaring flames emanating from a shop in the market as lights came back from sudden turn off. This clearly demonstrates an urgent need to direct serious attention to ECG over its insensitivity and blindness to foreseeability of these consequential disasters.
We must begin to face realities in order to divorce our minds from mythical attributes and speculative assignments of blames. To move forward such minds must travel beyond the usual limited conceptions,be it for political or personal reasons. They have always pulled us behind the barriers of progress.

Dear readers, remember the dead bodies of women found all over Accra prior to the 2000 elections, Do you remember Atta Akyea, Hackman Owusu Agyemang, Malik Yakubu Alhassan, Irene Naa Torshie Addo and others of their infamous Court Injunction against the Electoral Commission (EC) on a statuary Holiday with the connivance of the discredited Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood? Do you also remember bombs exploded in July 1961, wrecking the front of Parliament House in Accra. Another explosion was recorded at the Flag Staff House soon after that, killing one person and maiming many others, as Nkrumah's Young Pioneers' Orchestra band was performing. In 1962, the Lucas House bombing was recorded in Accra when people were killed instantly with their intestines gushed out, DANQUAH-BUSIA (UP, PP ,PFP,NPP), did not only continued their brute politics and physical attack, they also heightened it to a more sophisticated level of bombardment and explosions, after their opposition to the Ghana's independence had been rejected by the Queen of England. Until the DANQUAH-BUSIA finally succeeded in sponsoring the violent overthrow of Nkrumah's CPP in 1966, and sending him and his family to the exile of his death, series of violence, in the form of bombing and killing were perpetrated against the CPP and her followers, including innocent people. This is what they have started, We don't need a rocket scientist to tell us who is behind the recent fire outbreaks in our markets and residences. I will plead to the Government to double up their investigations or else they will bring civil war. We must not treat this criminals (npp) with soft gloves.
