Political tension between NDC and NPP alone is a good cause for concern coupled with market fires, corruption and injustice are all signs and fear of potential conflict. Peace is not only the absence of conflict but also the presence of injustice, huge disparities between the haves and have nots, the rulers and the ruled, abject poverty and in face of opulence by those in power, their cronies and the rich. All these in the midst of lack of energy, water and labour agitations, it's no surprise Ghana has slipped down on the Global Peace Index.

A great shame but not at all surprising, given the fact that some people are determined to "make the country ungovernable" just because they lost an election and despite the fact that they are seeking redress in the courts. I find this wholly unpatriotic and an affront to our very core values as a nation.

Their surrogates and other appendages e.g. LMVC and Young Patriots mobs are openly threatening violence and some of them have even cal1led for the military to intervene!! Utterances from some of their leaders have not been helpful and n the early days, their supporters even attacked innocent people and journalists.

Now other detractors are taking advantage and causing arson, plus political opponents and criminal gangs are busy terrorising people in places like Kumasi. Surely these will have an impact on our peace, democracy and the decorum that has characterised Ghana.

Funny I met a Sudanese doctor today who had visited Ghana last October and couldn't stop praising the country and its people for the PEACE, HONESTY and their WARMTH. I told him this was part of our national character and was one of our fundamental assets. I have been strongly opposed to the shenanigans of those who have lost and wish the country to have a bad name just because they are not in charge. I will continue to condemn such acts and those idiots who go about demonstrating for no good reason.
