I have read the entire text and although I have not seen nor read the said article the former president is complaining about, I blame his own team what this state of affairs for a simple reason: When you deliver a Keynote address like this at such an important gathering, you must always be sure that the media would report it in the way the deem fit and can 'twist' your words to suit their own devices.

What President Rawlings' team should have done was publish or make a copy of the full text available and distributed to the journalists at the even. Pure and simple. If they did not do that, then that is most surprising. Any how, that still does not excuse those journalists who 'distorted' his speech.

In Africa there are a lot of not well educated journalist and politicians. Some of these journalist create a platform which may cause misinterpretation and strange facts.

The fact is..HE IS NOT A PRESIDENT. He used to be a President. So, now you cannot still call him president. He does not carry the title anymore. You may perhaps say it is just a title, but this is causes war, hatrage and etc in various African nations.

So, don't stay backwards and don't limit yourselves. At the end of the day most of the Africans start blaming the "white man" but you should blame yourselves!
