The real satans are UGCC/UP/PP/NPP lot who would like to castigate President Nkrumah for ensuring internal security in the country while they went about throwing bombs. These are the same people who praised Kotoka and Afrifa for killing several Ghanaians at Flag Staff House during the 1966 Coup and calling them heroes while calling President Nkrumah a dictator. These are the same people led by Prime Minister Busia, the dictator with his famous 'No Court!' 'No Court!' orders when Afrifa cooked the books for him to rule. But being the liars and hypocrites they are, they have selective memory or rather they choose to have selective memory when it suits them. So the 1966 coup was alright for them but Rawlings coups were not.

His boldness and actions set the stage for the return to multi-party democracy in Ghana. Who told you Rawlings planted Democracy in Ghana? Ghanaians had to fight for it with the help of the International community like the IMF and the World Bank who virtually forced multi-party democratic rule on Rawlings. Remember he himself once said he didn't believe in this democracy business.

People had to fight for the freedom we enjoy today with their blood. Private radio stations and newspapers didn't exist. People had to fight for it. Prof. Adu Boahen must therefore be credited with Father of Modern Democracy in Ghana and not Rawlings the bully and murderer.

when I got up that morning anyway. I went into my breakfast knowing
that my wife would be pleasant and say "Happy Birthday" and probably
have a present for me, but she didn't even say "Good Morning."
I said,"Well, that's a wife for you, the children will remember."
The children came into breakfast and didn't say a word. When I started
to the office, I was feeling very low and despondent.
As I walked into my office, Janet said, "Good Morning, boss...

I worked until noon. About noon she knocked at the door and said, "you

We went to lunch. We didn't go to the place we usually went to. Instead
we went to a little place in the country, which was more private. We had
two martinis, and lunch was tremendous. We enjoyed it a lot. On the

Do we have to go back to the office?" I said, "No, I guess not".
She said, "let's go over to my apartment and I'll fix you another
martini." We went to her apartment.We enjoyed another martini and

She went into the bedroom, and in about five mintues she came out

The most important aspect of revolution is its transformation to make good for the people, and this cannot be achieved without violence. The so-called world democratic giants of today have all undergone political revolution, with its concomitant violence and sacrifice. The French Revolution (1789-1799), was not without violence and positive transformation. Over 40,000 thousand innocent lives were lost in this period of political and social upheaval and radical change in the history of France. Today, this radical change has paid off, and France has a lasting institutionalised democracy. For Americans to get to where they are today, with a black president which they never dreamt of, there was a rebellion and political upheaval during the last half of the 18th century, in which the colonies overthrew the governance of the British empire and rejected the monarchy. This, (The American revolution) was also not without violence , which is the major characteristics of all revolutions Thousands of lives were lost and an immeasurable number of properties were destroyed. Today, the American democracy, achieved after the revolution, is the most entrenched in the world. Russia, Germany and other European economic giants, all went through political revolution and positive defiance, AND THEY ALL GIVE MONUMENTAL PRAISE AND EXALTATION TO
THESE POSSIBLE.
There was mismanagement of the economy in Ghana and this had triggered a record in inflation greater than 100%, and corruption among the political officials and their business counterparts. This led to disgruntle and dissatisfaction of the people. When J.J. came to power, he arrested all government officials, business persons, priests, chiefs, workers, traders etc. Those who could not account for how they acquired their assets had their properties liquidated and confiscated to the state. Some were also subjected to molestation. Others were detained and later freed because no concrete evidence was found against them. The elite society of Ghana viewed Rawlings and his ministers as self interested and ruthless usurpers. He executed six key figureheads by firing squad. Of these, two were former heads of state. The people cheered, "Let the blood flow." The people supported his action. Why would the people show their support to him and yet later, about ten years blame him for this ruthlessness? Is it because they have forgotten how corrupted the ministers were? Is it the resurface of corruption that called for their disappointment in Rawlings? Where was the former enthusiasm the people showed towards him?

You must know that the French,American or Russian society are not identique to that of our ghana society. These societies you mentioned are a composition different variety of people , christians and jews who have all undergone for many years the Romains dominations. Unlike ghana, our old tribe social institutions still exit supported by the traditions and our cultures. It would be wrong a process of arnachism and call it a Revolution ! It could only be a communist expedition ok but then you have to destroy the existing social order starting by the chieftancies. Do you know Rawlings or you grew up to hear about him? Anytime you meet JJ, ask him what he did with all the monies he force people to pay into PNDC accounts No.48. Also, ask him why he killed someone who contracted a bank loan citing corruption.
