There is no substitute for integrity in everything we do from politics to reporting and journsalism. You can ruin your whole reputation and career by telling lies for parochial reasons. We need to get to the bottom of this and find out who 'paid him to lie' and the newspaper must also be sanctioned along with the reporter for giving it such front page prominence and for attempting to discredit a state institution.

It is some of this false reporting that others, including some commentators on this forum and politicians seeking to discredit the Mahama administration have further dilated, linked all sorts of people and accused the government of corruption.

It is disgraceful, shameful and a very bad way of doing politics and if we want to move forward, then I rather side with the president's call for us not to 'talk down' our successes as a nation, but to recognise our success at the same time as we strive together to build a better Ghana. What is too hard in this for anyone to understand?

Our nation has progressed from the fear of intimidation to the point where free speech has taken its proper role in the conduct of our national affairs.What we need to do next to curb the incidences of yellow journalism,the fabrications,lies,libels prevalent in our media is to drag the perpetrators to court and upon proving their nefarious activities,hit them hard in the pocket book to the point of running them out of business.That ought to serve as a deterrent to others who knowingly proliferate our media with untruths and libelous content.In other words,people should be held accountable for their actions.
