Asanka, a nation gets the leaders it deserves. We hate ourselves as a people so much that we choose our leaders out of hatred for one another. Just this afternoon as I drove past Kejetia, I saw many Ghanaians, young and old, lying on street pavements with head pans beside them and imagined what all those monies shared among these greedy bastards could do for them.

I wondered how any serious-minded person and a poor country like Ghana consider voting for a party like NDC, that was saddled with so much corruption? Can you imagine this pathetic drama happening in the west?

Only today I read in the news that former Italy PM has been convicted of paying for sex with a minor. Do you see this happening in Ghana? The answer is a big NO because Ghanaians have made our leaders what they are and they will continue to punish us for our foolishness. Some pathetic soul cannot afford one square meal a day, yet he glorifies the politician who has contributed to making his life a miserable one.

People like Ebo Barton who do not see resignation as best course of action to save face for a man of principle and honour when it is blatantly clear to all and sundry that he is tainted by the perception that he was a member of the looting brigade that ripped the country off through woyomisation, watervillisaton and isotofonisation process.

Those who were convicted and imprisoned have become the topmost leaders of the nation after pardon. One became an ambassador and another is challenging the validity of the case of the petitioners of the 2012 General Elections in the Supreme Court. We just make mockery of ourselves! Boy – “My dad’s outside.”

In the next few weeks, it happens again that the boy and the lover are in the closet together.

Boy – “I have a football Goal keeper glove.” The lover, remembering the last time, asks the boy, “How much?”
Boy – “$750?.
Man – “Sold.”
A few days later, the father says to the boy, “Grab your foot ball glove, let’s go outside and have a game of catch.
The boy says, “I can’t, I sold my football and my glove.”
The father asks, “How much did you sell them for?”
Boy -”$1,000.”
The father says, “That’s terrible to overcharge your friends like that. That is way more than those two things cost. I’m going to take you to church and make you confess.”
They go to the church and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door.
The boy says, “Dark in here.”
The priest says, “Don’t start that shit again, you’re in my closet now.

The members of Parliament must do well to uphold the dignity and integrity of the their own laws otherwise they will become jokers in the eyes of the electorate. That deputy speaker has no place on the committee, period. Even if he has no guts to resign because of his daily bread he must be sacked. The country will prosper without people like him showing up in the House.

If someone sits on a committee, what is the wrong there? If you have any evidence of impropriety against him, take him to court. A committee is a different animal and should be spared this distraction

Ghana is really a joke. How can parliament appoint the Godfather of judgment debts - Ebo Barton Oduro, to a committee tasked with drafting a report that seeks to plug the loopholes in the very act, for which he should be prosecuted for? Do we think he would make it a point to ensure that the very points for which he stands to be prosecuted would be included in the report?
We have never been serious as a country and it's telling on the way the turns are done in the country and the very direction, in which the country is headed - deep unending pit.
