I reserve the right as a citizen of Ghana to protect and defend my honour and integrity should this civilized challenge for the truth be ignored.

This is not the price I should be made to pay by the Government of Ghana for defending the Constitution of Ghana in the Waterville and Isofoton unconstitutional payments declared by the Supreme Court.

The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”

The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

Read Psalms 37 and 39 and you will realise that like Demas (whom Paul gave up to the devil to deal with), people like Samuel Awuku are not worth praying for. This is a young man who has remained stubborn, been insulting to his fellow panelists on talk shows, believing that he 'knows it all' and that it is only his version of 'events' and proceedings that is correct.

His is another version of Asamaoah Boateng who has been soundly rejected by his own constituents because of his sheer arrogance, insulting nature and disregard for common sense and human dignity. Why should anyone be praying for someone who even said to a seasoned journalist that he "Sammy Awuku does not need anyone's apology on his behalf"?

Kweku Baako is part of the problem. What you should be doing as a senior man is calling such people quietly and giving them a stern warning. The true leaders of the NPP party should be dealing with such 'out of control individuals. In this sense, I am disappointed, but should I really be when people like Owusu Afriyie and Obetsebi Lamptey (fellow agitators) are at the helm of the national executive? I rather pity Nana Akufo-Addo as leader of his party. I have in the past stated that this young man is ruining his own political career and I lamented the fact that he somehow thinks 'he has arrived' when in fact, he is destroying his career even before it has begun. I have suggested that the electorate should look out for such people and I stand by that statement.

The fact is, Ghana (and any serious democracy) does not need people with such views and attitudes as leaders and custodians of the nation. Of the several million young men and women in his age group, surely we have far better people to represent our interests as a nation than such ingrates.

Stop praying for him, he is not doing his part to 'earn' the reprieve he needs and certainly is not helping his cause therefore your prayers are unlikely to receive the necessary response from God (if that is your source and the direction of your prayers)!!!

If one has reason to feel that the SC is being biased, be that person right or wrong, doesn't he/she have the right to say it? It is better to encourage Sammy Awuku to give reasons for his statement and that such would help to make some corrections, rather than ridiculing and putting fear in him.
The SC's actions against him are tantamount to denying him of his constitutional and democratic rights, and his rights as someone living in a "civilised" country. Do you agree that it could extend to others if not checked?
That the judges saw Samuel Awuku's comments contemptuous paints a grim picture of Ghana's so-called democracy.
In fact we are worried that the judges are now behaving like village tyrants and witch hunters.
Of course, Ghanaians (must) respect them and their work but that does not mean that they are above the law or can act with impunity.
We hope that they would reassess their obligations and responsibilities, and act in accordance, for the progress of Ghana.
