The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”

The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

A journalist reports and judges an event, for others. They have a duty to ensure that it is accurate and morally defensible what is published.
Thoughts, ideas, information, etc., are being delivered to a relatively large and remote general public.
Journalists are witnesses. The reason we need them is because we need witnesses to this terrifying time. Life hurts; certain ideas and experiences hurt us so much; we want to clarify, to set out illuminations.
We are always eager to hear something good of ourselves and ill of the enemy.
Let the journalists mean more than they say and say more than they mean, because they tell more truths and sell somebody out.
Let the journalists be with praise, pride and egotism as best they can, because they foresee the inevitable, and although problems and catastrophes may be inevitable, solutions are not.
They do not find subjects: subjects find them. They are just trying to find out what everyone else takes for granted.

When you think about it Herod tried to kill Jesus, and in so doing killed numerous infants because he thought his post was in jeopardy, and Jesus was killed because the people did not understand his purpose. How many homes and families have been destroyed based on lies and ignorance. Breaking the cycle of ignorance should be a national priority. It is simply cankerous and has destroyed many a life. The trend we are see these days is that many of our journationalists are acquiring legal training,but I have my doubts this additional training is going to change anything.

Is a whole new bowl of soup! I will go so far as describing him as the 'leader of the pack'! The essence of Journalism is all about balance and objectivity;but is this what we observe in this Republic? Even ordinary news,a reportage of an event that has transpired, is cast in such a manner that makes you wonder if what you are being fed is not a contrived 'comedy'. And depending on which media outlet you are listening to, you can tell who are going to emerge as "heroes" and "villains" in any presentation of the 'news'.
But let`s also put part of the blame at the doorstep of our politicians and other public officials who cannot stay away from the microphones or cameras,by turning down requests to become part of the 'circus' with a polite, but a firm'NO COMMENT'!
And inspite of all the claims being made about the more the better,in terms of the number of media outlets, this country has done very well with only a handful of newspapers/publications like the Ashanti Pioneer,the Catholic Standard,the Legon Observer that took strong positions and adequately defended their stance,often at the displeasure of officialdom. Similarly, we have had fine shows and programmes (Talikng Point,Kaleidescope) on the state-owned media -the GBC - where fine and experienced hosts like Java Apronti and Cromwell Quist led discussions, involving genteel and knowledgeable panelists,that covered a wide range of topics. Is this what we observe today on our media landscape?
