The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”

The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

The letter then goes on melodramatically, “As you leaf through these pages of my life’s story, I pray to God that it touches your heart in many positive ways. Weep not, I am not dead. I can agree with you and blame the state if these people have to go back to prison. Blame the government if it as not made effort to facilitate processes for civil societies to manage a re-entry to communities programs for former prisoners. If steps have being taken then the number of former prisoners who could be back in prison could be less than 10%. But government should kick start a collaborative relationship with civil societies for an action programs for former prisoners.

I believe the president got it wrong. Setting a prisoner free is a bad idea. These prisoner need to be monitored for at least 5-10 years. This what is call probation. Absolute freedom spells doom for Ghanaians.

While on the run, he broke into a house and tied up a young couple who had been sleeping in the bedroom. He tied the man to a chair on one side of the room and his wife on the bed. He got on the bed right over the woman, and it appeared he was kissing her neck. Suddenly he got up and left the room. As soon as possible the husband made his way across the room to his bride, his chair in tow, and whispered, "Honey, this guy hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw him kissing on your neck and then he left in a hurry. Just cooperate and do anything he wants. If he wants to have sex with you, just go along with it and pretend you like it. Whatever you do don't fight him or make him mad. Our lives depend on it! Be strong and I love you." We need the names and pictures of all those pardoned to be published in the newspapers, so we can cross check against any individual who takes to the streets after the verdict.

Do we have all adequate resources in place to handle these second class people because I will never accept that after having spent so much time in prison they became as good and as wise the normal citizens.

Label them for the ordinary people to know them and help the security services to monitor them. They should not be left just like that. A murder aging 70 and above years can still kill. A murder is a murder and a robber is forever a robber. We can't leave good citizens and give these people jobs. Don't reward murders and robbers. This prisoners' release is adding more challenges to the already existing. Let's be vigilant!!!

What Ghana really need is a change in the legal systm that sort to send anything including minor offending cases to jail whilst the big criminals like Barton Oduross, Betty Mould Iddrisus, Konadu Agyeman Rawlingses, Hanna Bisiws, Ablakwas and the Woyomes outrageously walk as free people in government.

How does a genuinely heart felt Judge sends a 70 year old to long terms of jail for stealing ordinary like plantain or found smoking a roll of marijuana jailing a commercial driver over fire extinquisher?

We must also technically make our cells and prisons environmentally friendly and clean with well train and equipped Prison Officers on human care and handling instead of them handling people sent to jail like dogs and guinea fowls for who knows the criminally corrupt President and his ministers may one day find themselves in there.

For improvement and better services purposes, the government must encourage the private set up to put strongly defensive private prisons to take over some of the prison administration to make our prisons a better place for corrections as seen in the Americas and the EU countries especially in the UK and not make our prisons look like some horrible place for punishment.

There are more prisoners in there without any proper sentence by any court or charge with any criminative case.

We need to take a new look to all such things within the prisons including work, feeding, bedding, family visits and medications and make the prisons a better place.

The President and his government could have done more. We should stop this traditional nonsense setting prisoners free at only republic or national days. Our prison problems and solutions need more than that.

I think his ability to practice law should have been stripped off as soon as he was found guilty of the crime because of which he was sent to jail. Thank you
