THEY ARE NOT BEING PAID WELL. THEY HAVE NO HEALTH BENEFITS FOR THEMSELVES N THEIR FAMILIES. LOYALTY CAN GO SO FAR. IF U DONT PAY UR WATCHMAN WELL, WAT DO U THINK WILL HAPPEN TO UR PROPERTY AT HOME?

I think majority of these comments are really irrelevant to the seriousness of this case.This fish could have been bought,whether it is for the funeral,chop bar ,restaurants or for home consumption.Have we got food and safety organisation in our country? Why are they not there investigating this serious matter? How long can our food be tampared with? I stopped eating grass cutter meat a long time ago, since someone hinted me that some hunters use formadine to keep the carcases fresh.Now from what I am reading, this practise has entered the preservation of fish. Some of the comments do not reflect the knowledge of food and safety issues or the seriousness of toxins and chemicals in our food. We need to take a strong stand and demand safety of food and drugs in our country otherwise we will have a very serious catastophy one day in Ghana.I urge the the food and drugs department to investigate this quickly and find the culprit who used this toxin to preserve fish.

This is what happens when people can't have reliable electricity to preserve fresh products like fish. The trader stands to lose a lot if her fish goes rotten so she will do all she can to preserve them including using formalin without knowing its consequences. This country should be electrified from north to south east to west. Electricity should be reliable and affordable to the poor.Poverty breeds dangerous practices and especially in a country where standards are not implemented and the agency incapacitated to effectively monitor quality and safety of consumer items.This brings me to the recent visit by the US President to Africa where he offered Africa a new US-African policy,the policy of collaboration and partnership instead of donor recipient one. Power Africa;Trade Africa, this was his theme.it is a shift in US policy towards Africa and Ghana as a country should embrace it. It is not too late to make an about turn from the east to the west. It is necessary to power Africa so Africa can have enough power to power their industries and turn away from being a raw material producer for other countries industries. Trade Africa seeks to have Africa as a trading partner, not as a aid recipients and he asked us to turn west, not east. It is a win win situation he said.He cannot be far from right. There is nothing to gain from our flirtation with China. I don't think China has any interest in our welfare,they are only looking for ways to exploit us as they dangle some free projects in our faces while looting this country of its natural resources. All America is asking in return for their help is our governments to show commitment in upholding democracy,transparency and accountability. Is it too much to ask from us?
