If the judges set him free without any penalties what kind of precedents are we setting for future inflamatory comments? What messages are we sending to future offenders?

Wealth, Fame, partisan and tribal politics needs to be put aside whilese this case is dealth with properly. The courts are already facing scrutiny from the public concerning the current ongoing supreme court election case.

Handling this case in such a hapharzad manner will only deepen the suspicion many have of the courts as an ineffective and a corrupt instituion.

Calling on a whole ethinic group to murder another should not be seen a light case. Many inflamatory comments were made during the election however this was the most seriuos of them all.

The courts need to do a better job b4 Ghana descends into a chaotic and a lawless country.

Some of us have short memories but if you remember, the Judge warned the government to withdraw the TREASON charge and charge Agyapong with the appropriate criminal offence as what Agyapong said does not meet the threshold of a crime of TREASON and GENOCIDE.

Even I wrote an article about this and said the government is over reaching with those charges.

There is nothing the Judge can do. He heard a case of Treason that could not be supported by Government evidence and he has to render justice with the evidence before him.

However I beleieved for the nation to send a strong message that such loose talks will not be tolerated in the future a proper legal charge needs to be brought against Ken and all those who will make such pronouncements in the future.

All these is due to the lack of efficiency in the system. After all if what we are reading here is true that those who supposedly slapped Ursula are still walking free then who are we to blame this judge?

After all that was the genesis of these Ken brouhaha. My only concern is these types of statememnts have the tendency to cause chaos in such a young democracy especially one with such a weak government hence the need to prevent people from making such comments in the past.

When this case came up, we told everyone that you can't charge anyone in the land with TREASON, GENOCIDE, OR TERRORISM just because he sits in his comfy and say that others should go out and kill other people. But idiots and illiterates like you did not listen to us.

Do you even understand the word "Treason" or "Genocide" or "Terrorism." Where was the MOTIVE and INTENT and preparation to do that?

For someone to be charged with CRIME, there should not only be "MENS ERA" but also "ACTUS REUS." That is the basics for charging someone with CRIME.

Every law student knows this - actus non facit reum nisi mens sit rea, which means "the act is not culpable unless the mind is guilty" except NDC useless and illiterate Lawyers.

This is the same reason why AMINA case was thrown out and several others. Instead removing themselves emotionally from cases like this and think through it...they become hypersensitive run like idiots to the courts.

In the absence of Anti-vilification laws in Ghana, the least one would have expected the AG's office to do is bring incitement to violence and to cause grievous bodily harm charges against him, which I believe we have in our statute books. I was therefore appalled by the terrorism charges and what not brought against him.

We should blame the bungling novices running the AG's office for agreeing to bring those stupid charges. I've no problem with Ken being let loose! After all, I am very much used to demented Akans saying they'd kill Ewes. Even Akan teachers I as sharing a house with in Nigeria were saying it; at one time to my face. Yes, didn't the late Dr Kodzi write a virulently anti-PNDC book, Ghana: Worse Than Apartheid S. Africa, in which he pointed out the Anlos as the Ewes who must be killed, in response to those threats to kill Ewes which were very rampant in the 1980s? My people, the Anlos, said to me in 1993 that they were aware of all those threats and they were waiting for them to begin: "as for you, don't worry. Where there is no flesh/meat, we shall cut it and put", I was assured. So they can let loose all the demented Kens of this world, I don't give a hoot! We're waiting for them to lay a hand on someone!

Which brings me to the need for Parliament to as a matter or urgency legislate anti-vilification laws modeled on what we have in Europe. Under such a law, Ken would have been successfully prosecuted for making such inflammatory comments. In fact, a lot of the tribal hoodlums on Ghanaweb can be prosecuted too.

British citizens have been jailed for racist comments they made on Facebook in the aftermath of the dastardly killing of the British soldier Lee Rigby here in Woolwich. For merely suggesting that Africans married to or living with Norwegian women should be castrated so that they don't have mulatto kids to dilute the blonde Aryan race - something which caused a lot of psychological distress to such men some who claimed they became impotent for days and much merriment for some of us with a wry sense of humour, not to mention the embarrassment of Norwegian colleagues who couldn't tire of apologising - the Norwegian jerk was imprisoned in the mid-90s!

The charge of treason is not something that you can bring on someone based on mere utterances, yet the prosecutors allowed the propaganda team of lawyers from the NDC to dictate to them what charges to bring against the man.
They did it in the Ya Na trial and lost it and they did not learn from that because idiots like you always support this stupid way of approaching things. There is a difference between presenting a case before the courts in a democratic republic and feeding the people with lies .
I would therefore advise you to stop your infantile tantrum because it only exposes you as a stupid non thinking idiot. Try and understand the issue and why the case was thrown out without making these stupid tribalistic statements.

Please, chill out! It might be the way the prosecutor presented the case. Don't jump to conclusions. If the case was badly presented by the Gov't's Attorneys who are not immune to manipulation the Judge would have little choice but to acquit the accused. The State Attorneys could throw cases, too.

We should look back on the many cases the Mills' Administration lost, and I bet my bottom dollar that some, if not most were, lost for poor presentation by the prosecutors, which could be a deliberate ploy to get the culprits freed. Some of the cases, like the Yaa Na case, had instances of lost or badly processed evidential documents which could be an intentional act to cause technical deficiency in the case upon which to free the suspects.

So, before anyone sets out to go hunting down this Judge, that person may have to check how the Judge arrived at that verdict.

I fully agree it does not look good on the surface for Ken to get away with the kind of language he used. But how was his intent to follow through on that language proven at the Court?

It is unfortunate that the case was not televised, too. It would have been easier for offended folks to take this verdict for Ken, had his comments been restricted to purely Partisanship. The blatant ethnic references in it is what stiffens people's acceptance of his acquittal.

I pray that tempers cool down and we all use level-headedness to seek our way forward in Peace. There is always the chance of appeal by the prosecutors.

What really worries me a out this verdict is the perception that Akan leaders could always publicly insult and threaten other tribes and get way with it. The "..Yen Akan de, ...'All die be die' " comment by Akufo-Addo came and went without any explicit apologies to the others, even if those words were purely misspoken and not meant the way many took them. Then came Ken's frothing at mouth with those that brought about this case. So, yes, the series of implied dehumanization of non-Akans is worrisome but still could be sheer coincidence.

When this case came up, we told everyone that you can't charge anyone in the land with TREASON, GENOCIDE, OR TERRORISM just because he sits in his comfy and say that others should go out and kill other people. But idiots and illiterates like you did not listen to us.

Do you even understand the word "Treason" or "Genocide" or "Terrorism." Where was the MOTIVE and INTENT and preparation to do that?

For someone to be charged with CRIME, there should not only be "MENS ERA" but also "ACTUS REUS." That is the basics for charging someone with CRIME.

Every law student knows this - actus non facit reum nisi mens sit rea, which means "the act is not culpable unless the mind is guilty" except NDC useless and illiterate Lawyers.

This is the same reason why AMINA case was thrown out and several others. Instead removing themselves emotionally from cases like this and think through it...they become hypersensitive run like idiots to the courts.

At best, this is a HATE speech and nothing else and that is what they should have charged him with.

Why was Ken even put before court to waste public funds and time in the first place when others has make stronger war drumming statements than what Ken unfortunately said out of evidential provocation seeing his kinsmen/women violently attacked by some unscrupulously tyrant elements within the ruling government with some going on rampaging with deadly weapons on our roads in Accra at the full glance of the police without any arrest?

Thank God the sick President was taken away otherwise this lovely country would have been sent to another horrible state of tribal war as did happen in Kenya and Ivory Coast by some ethnocentric divisive gangsters taking the negative advantage of the sick Commander-in-Chief.

I hope that he will not take his discharge as armoury to ask for the head of Ga and Ewe people to be chopped off.
