Satellites please take your chances if you wish to progress in the tournament. We do not only want good football but goals. Football is determined on goals not fine free flowing football. Its now becoming typical of Ghana football to ply good soccer without goals. This must STOP. Over to you captain Lartey and your team. I wish you ALL THE BEST.

Portugal is going to apply a 4-3-3 formation on us. Since Ghana U-20 usually doesn't start well at the beginning of their matches, I could see Portugal coach coming into this match with full attacking strategy.
For our defense line to be a little solid, I advice we solidify the midfield with either 4 midfielders to neutralize the Portuguese forward line.
Now, this is a tip for Sellas Tetteh. If he concentrates on FC Aprillia's striker, Aladje, whom to me, is not as slippery as both Ricardo and Bruma, we will go down today.
Use our usual 4-4-2 formation to begin the match will be the best formation for this match. This would strengthen our midfield as I indicated earlier. It will allow us to keep more possession in the midfield than the opponent.
With this formation too, our midfielders wouldn't get tired quickly like it happened in the match against France. France took advantage of our lack of stamina and by applying the 4-4-2 formation against Portugal's 4-3-3 predicted formation, Portugal will be the ones to chase the balls but not us.
Finally, this formation will help us to defend better and also be able to use it into attacking in a matter of seconds through counter attacks.
After the team is settled, then we could convert a 4-4-2 diamond formation into a 4-3-3 formation during attacking. All we need are two early goal advantage. In most matches, two goal advantage frustrate opponents no matter how tough that opponent is. Yes I believe in comebacks in football but for us to sit for such a comeback, wouldn't happened.
Keeping the ball on the ground too should be one of our main tools to approach this match. I say that because the opponent has height advantage over our team.
The defense line today shouldn't be the responsibility of our defenders alone. It will be good for all departments to defend and to attack together. You win through team effort but not through individual effort.
Go for the gold for the country is behind you.

COMPLACENCY IS OUR ENEMY! SLOPPY DEFENDING. THE RIGHT BACK NKETIAH, NARH, LARTEY ARE GIVING ME HEADACHES N HOT FLASHES....TU SHAA BI WAT?
THE PORTUGUESE NEVER LOST ANY GROUP GAMES, BUT THEY ALLOWED GOALS AGAINST NAIJA AND DREW WITH SOUTH KOREA. GH MUST PLAY BREAK, CONTROL AND PASS BALL. 2 OR 3 TOUCHES, MAX!
GOALIE ANTWI: TELL THE GOALIE ANTWI TO KEEP HIS EYE ON THE BALL. IF YOU CANT SEE THE BALL, YOU CANT SAVE IT. DONT LOOK AT THE PLAYER. LOOK AT THE BALL…
GH STRIKERS:
THE WINGERS MUST DRIBBLE THE BALL INTO THE PORTUGUESE 18. SHOOT OR PASS THE BALL TO THE 9 OR 10 TO SHOOT. ONLY SIMPLE 1 TOUCH PASSES REQUIRED IN THE 18.
GH DEFENCE:
WE NEED DUNCAN, BABA N LARTEY TO DROP BACK. THE PORTUGEUSE HAVE TALL STRIKERS. WE NEED DEFENDERS WHO CAN GO UP IN THE AIR AND CHALLENGE FOR BALLS. LARTEY, NO MORE BALL WATCHING PLS. KEEP THE PORTUGUESE AWAY FROM THE GH 189. I CANT STRESS THIS ENUFF. IF U ALLOW THEM IN THE GH 18, WE ARE DEAD. I DONT CARE IF YOU FOUL THEM OUTSIDE THE BOX. DONT ALLOW THEM INTO OUR 18 AT ALL....
GH MIDFIELDERS
WIN TACKLES, CLAIM THE BALL. JUST NEUTRALIZE THE PORTUGUESE CAPTAIN. HE IS THE SOUL IN THE MIDFIELD
IF COACH BORBOR CAN GET THE BOYS TO DO THIS. GH WILL WIN. THE PORK N CHEESE ARE GOOD TECHNICALLY
Today, the main detail behind France’s 3-1 victory against Ghana at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013 went by the name of Geoffrey Kondogbia.
“Our playing style is based around player movement, 2 touch passing, always looking for the man in space and trying to work the flanks,” he explained.
“That’s our footballing philosophy and, because I’ve got a very good understanding with Yaya [Sanogo], I didn’t hesitate to play the ball through to him first-time.”
MAKE SURE YOU TRAIN THE BOYS UNDER LESS LIGHT CONDITIONS.
IF THE PLAYERS CAN CONVERT PENALTY KICKS, FREE KICKS, CORNER CROSSES, SET PIECES, MAKING INROADS INTO THE 18 YARD BOX, CLINICAL $TRIKERS ETC IN THE DARK.
THEY WILL BE EVEN BETTER IN THEIR EXECUTION IN THE DAYLIGHT. THIS IS HOW NEGRO BASEBALL PLAYERS, BARRY BONDS, MICHAEL JORDAN, KOBE BRYANT ETC TRAIN. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON,
THEY SEE MUCH CLEARER. THEY CAN EVEN HIT HOME RUNS, AND MAKE BASKETS WITH THEIR EYES CLOSED.

Sellas Tetteh is a dumb coach, technically deficient !!! Unable to inspire his boys.
He must come up with a tight defence closing out space for the Portuguese, compact midfield willing to work hard to win all 50-50 balls, and above all taking their chances when they get them. You can't advance when you squander so many scoring chances like that and don't prepare psychologically and physically for penalty kicks.

I was wandering what those 2 guys who scored to hand Ghana the victory were doing on the bench since the second half? I think we have technical coaching issues here....the coach is not energetic....very sluggish in decision taking...not decisive...looks like he does not know what to do at certain points.... his good decision come in a little late.. it could have cost us dearly.. is age getting good part of him??? he can't even enjoy or celebrate energetically the goals...maybe he needs abrewabeboball..hahaha
Portugal had begun the match as strong favourites after their impressive group campaign and they should have been in front inside the first minute. That was when the normally reliable Aladje fired over from eight yards, failing to convert a great cross from Bruma, who had skilfully evaded the attentions of two defenders.
Ghana, however, steadily grew into the match and registered a noteworthy effort of their own on the quarter-hour mark, when a curling Moses Odjer shot forced a fine save from Jose Sa. It was a warning for Portugal of what the Black Satellites are capable of, and four minutes later they were provided with another, more costly demonstration.
A stunning goal it was too, fired home from 30 yards by Kennedy Ashia, whose ferocious shot left Jose Sa without a hope of keeping it out. Long-range efforts were a feature of Ghana’s play in the first half and so too was excellent defensive organisation, with Bruma - one of the tournament’s undisputed stars - left to cut an unusually subdued figure.
The Portugal No11 was, though, involved when the Iberians first threatened in the second half, combining with Aladje to set up Andre Gomes for a 25-yard volley that flashed just over. Ghana were dropping ever deeper and, as the pressure increased, it was no surprise when parity was restored with 19 minutes remaining.
However, the source of the goal was unexpected, with long-haired centre-half Tiago Ferreira smashing a terrific left-foot shot in off the underside of the bar after the ball had dropped loose inside a packed penalty area. Portugal’s tails were up now and, just two minutes later, after Bruma’s deflected shot had struck the outside of the post, they moved in front.
Again, it was a defender providing a finish of which any striker would have been proud, with Edgar Ie bulleting home a textbook header off the inside of the post from Ricardo Esgaio’s inviting right-footed cross. But Ghana weren’t ready to accept defeat and six minutes later they found another goal of their own, Michael Anaba stabbing home from inside the six-yard box after Yiadom Boakye’s initial effort was parried.
Then, with five minutes remaining, this dramatic match took one final twist. It seemed all but impossible that Boakye could score from a free-kick almost on the byline wide on the left, but the Portuguese wall split and the Ghana No20’s fiercely struck shot sneaked in at the near post to seal victory.

COMPLACENCY IS OUR ENEMY! SLOPPY DEFENDING IS OUR ACHILLES HEEL. THE RIGHT BACK NKETIAH, LARTEY ARE GIVING ME HEADACHES N HOT FLASHES....THERE IS A LACK OF COMMUNICATION, TRUST AND WORK ETHIC IN DEFENSE.
WE MUST ADOPT THE COUNTER ATTACK STYLE AGAINST CHILE. THE CHILEANS PLAY VERY MUCH LIKE SPAIN. CHILE USES SHORT PASSES AND LONG PASSES TO OUTWIT DEFENSES. I CALL THEIR STYLE OF PLAY THE "MATADOR STYLE". COACH SELLAS TETTEH MUST WATCH THE CONFEDERATION CUP GAME BETWEEN SPAIN AND BRASIL. DEFENDERS: KEEP UR FOOT ON THE PEDAL FOR 90 MINUTES, PLS. DONT FORGET TO CLEAR THE CHILEANS OUT OF THE 18YARD BOX/DANGER ZONE.
STRIKERS: WINGERS MUST DRIBBLE INSIDE THE 18YARD BOX AND PPASS THE BALL TO THE STRIKERS TO SHOOT ON NET.
CHILE NUMBA 10 MATURANA, NUMBA 17 ROJAS MUST BE MARKED! HW3, DONT ALLOW THEM TO POSSES THE BALL AT ALL....THESE 2.

I've always maintained that if we want to have success in World Football, then our local coaches should be sponsored by GFA to broaden their knowledge in the art of coaching. We can achieve more when our local coaches avail themselves to the latest technics and tactics of the scientific art of football. The old tricks don't work anymore. I'm humbly appealing to the Sports Ministry and the K. Nyantakyi-led GFA to consider giving Coaches Kwasi Appiah, Konadu, Silas Tetteh and other prominent local coaches such exposure or help. We want to win the ultimate: the real "WORLD CUP" to show the world what we can do. It is achievable and it's an investment that our authorities should consider.
We wish our U-20 Stars all the best in this tournament in Turkey.
God will make away for the team i hope so.
