This church is requiring outward piety which does not necessarily mean inward purity or rightnes with God. The church has missed it big time. I will advise the couple to stop fellowshipping at the church and find a church that interprets the spirit of the letter and not just the letter. For the letter killeth, but the spirit gives life. My advise is that they join Lighthouse Chapel. I really admire lighthouse and their Bishop, infact if I were in the market for a church, I would like to join Lighthouse Chapel International.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Crist and all members of DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH worldwide, this is the time we need to be more united, more commited, more prayerful in support of our father in the Lord and the General Superintendent of DCLM Pastor W.F Kumuyi in time like this. Let us not forget that, the devil and his cohorts have been fighting to get their way through this noble church and have failed in several occasions, let us therefore use this occasion to strengthten ourselves spiritually and chest out in prayer to show the devil that what is written is written, nothing he does could destroy the church that has been built on the solid foundation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Let us pray to God to bring unpresidented revival into the church in time like this. Let us not be discouraged by the castigation that are coming from different angles, but rather stand united in love, oneness, togetherness as children of God. To the couple, as Simon Peter denied the Lord and after word became one of the strongest pillars in the ealy church, so I strongly believe that, this couple will become one of the strongest pillars the church has ever witnessed after serving their suspension. May the living God bless Pastor Kumuyi, leadership of the church and the membership of the church in the name of Jesus. Amen.

This is mystery indeed. The person do not hear anyone outside his house as God made human beings. There is something strenge in this country USA, which does not come from God. Sneak on persons where ever they are. Interesting, the bible is true. Now all false religions are claiming righteousness over born again and salvation gospel to love and grace as if God the Almighty is religion. Support the troops else you will not see the kingdom. Ask them how they claim God, and they will fumble of their faith foolishness to deceive.

I know grace and love has been there, before the earth was created, out of these grace and love the idea of creating the earth came to be.However, what was introduced on the earth after creation was the salvation scheme which works through what was already there by encapsulating all that was there into galvanised interdependency to bring total understanding and completeness of all things together for the kingdom of God Alimighty, headed by the alpha and omega lamb of God Himself. They like to make themselves happy in false material vanities and joy of short memories to entice novices,spiritual bankcrupts and the worldly wise for the hullucinated smiles of no mean avarice. Imagine a natural born or bible predicted armed robbery society calling a spiv criminal. Here the word armed is a variable like faith,love or hope because believe systems are with all religions; that could be a badge, office, a gun or whatever a resource tool to enable a person to rule advantage over the others like wall street job or NSA job.

Their children will grow up to be the worse of generations to come, because they are being thought to disregard their wrongs to others, except themselves. For instance Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, who was being bombed from inside Ghana and outside Ghana; who took same watchful eye to arrest perpetuators and they called him dictator, shame on you saboteurs of the world, hidding behind the name of God in vain and faith-based-religions bullshit. Taking upon themselves to condemn other people of different nationalities, thinking their nation is with God. Maybe Bush or Reagan gods.

Henceforth, my purpose has been the explanation of SALVATION gospel, which comes from only Christ JESUS and cannot be alterated or copied by any forms of religions,salvation, the true christian objective of the bible. Curently, we have pastors and priest forging alliances with politicians doing just opposite what the Lord God will tolerate in his churches. Failing to see their short comings and limitations to carry such difficult assignments, aside from what has been giving to them by the Lord God which is of SALVATION. Besides helter skelter,Charles Bronson, who will be silly to come out and say I am Jesus Christ. No, they will come in the titles of the Lord as he is the last prophet,rabi,the holy father and shepherd. They will use the same titles for themselves, then a true genuine christian will notice how deceptive they are. Right now I am coming from an African store and I saw a magazine showing a pastor sitting on his golden thrown calling himself a winner. So sad, they don't even know what they are saying. The leaders of advance countries has granted themselves an immunity for trials, look at the 43th president, who is the first born son of 41st president USA and the 42nd president who was an open adulterous, maybe an abortionist at the closed doors,because he will never come out to give information on all his deeds in that sin. This same can be said of the priest or clergies of pedophiles and nuns, having sex at the closed doors and doing abortions secretly, yet punishing people who does abortions. Their actions are that they are playing God or Lord on the populace.This is the reason why John saw the anti-christ of USA and her associates leadership of the world. From president Reagan days coming, USA presidents and some leaders on earth have become untouchable on earth for their wrongful decisions and crimes of wickedness, playing almighty on the rest of us.

Now 2 Peter 2 churches are also coming together to institute the same system to give power for these funny ordains, even failing to realise what Jesus said when he was angry seeing people hawking in the church. He said, "don't you know my father's house is a house of worship"? Which means the house of God almighty is for worshipping alone,not for any other promotions of governments or individual privileges. Anybody who submit to the worshipping of the Lord amicable without egos,should not face punishment from any institutions. More so throwing electrical impulsive devices on the members. If a pastor or leaders of church come to the notice of say gay lifestyle in the church. What do they do? knowing the person by name, the leader of the church has to call the person out after church for face to face correction. It has come to our notice that you are gay, Our believes do not tolerate this kind of lifestyle of yours. It is either we help you come of that lifestyle or you desist from that lifestyle, else you can't worship with us again. This is what the Lord or his apostles expect from the body of christ or the church of christ. Remember there are many kinds of churches.

A sinful person, the moment he/she enters the abode of worshipping is in the hands of the Lord and nothing should touch him fouly. Now churches has become military second post to honor and glorify for battle. Jesus Christ hated combat battle, because it does not solve the problem of men. They think the military comes from battle to tell of all they did, even if, some of them raped little girls and killed innocent children. Knowing the frustrations of battles that can turn a decent heart into monsters. It escalate them because the opposite side that lost the battle will find ways to revenge later on . Allow those who want that do that and the gospel is not meant for that. When the Lord was arrested, some men were fighting battles behind the scene, because they were not men of christ and they mis-understood his messages for what they wanted.

In the nutshell faith base might sound great to hearing, I bet you, it would end up like that in the long run. It has even started and I am the experienced of it. This morning, while listening on television interview of chilapolipoli, oops; I can't spell the name correctly, the other party was talking about do someone like USA? My beef is that whether someone hate USA or not, is it a topic to discuss or a book to write? I say no, it does not matter, since USA is the power of all nations on earth today. He thought he was writing something good to appeal to his audience, but he is inciting enmity. There are USA born citizens who do not or did not like their country. Is it strenge for foreigners who live here to have grievances towards USA? There are many Americans in other nation who dislike those nations. What difference does it make according to the voice of she-Clinton. I might not like USA, however my family location keep me here, because I want to be with my family. That is my choice. A born again is a person who has taking upon himself to make the values of Jesus Christ a heart felt issue, to pursue those values to the best of the persons ability in respect and glory to the Lord. With the help of the spirit of Jesus Christ which is not different from his sayings and teachings, as well as things he did and practices.

Initially, a person has to receive the baptisma in water and possibly spiritual baptisma of speaking in tongues, which is very necessary. From then going, listening or reading the bible to ascertain the truth and the wisdom behind the scriptures to improve oneself within the known scriptures. The total summation is Salvation into the Kingdom of God which is yet to come.

In a sense the persons are training themselves on how they are going to live in the coming Kingdom, which is all about the King of that Kingdom. Here the king is a dictator, no balloting, voting, civil rights. The members of the kingdom lives to glorify God through that KING. This pushes away the schemes of Lucifer who was able to penetrate God's setups in the garden of aden. In the new garden, the King is there to siphon through every thoughts and heart to weed out that of Satan if any, since the Kings blood He shed on Calvary purifies his members. Hence anyone with God Almighty becomes holy through the King.

The human cultures on earth depicts their various wisdom and believes with differences as they are implemented. Unity and uniformity comes under our creator and his values. Entrenched are love,grace,faith and hope as they are defined in my previous writings. The creator being the divergence of all life on earth made this characteristics of himself, into a summation of salvation in his new found nature of himself in A.D. periods. Lucifers also have their characteristics within the same pathways of the creator, since lucifers do not own themselves, yet they think they do. They walk within the creations of the creator, using the same attributes, unless one understands the differences, then we can separate ourselves to glorify the creator, else it is about us and lucifer. That of lucifer can be discribes as slandering,lies,deceipt, arrogance,selfish,witty,cleverness for self adoration or importance, until we realised the lack of humility or meekness which is of Christ Jesus. Why Christ Jesus? because God the Almighty need not be humble for anybody, but the begotten son Jesus Christ was humble to his father,so those who value him and his authority. Lucifer on the other hand was not, he wanted the dominion of Almighty for himself and used that to manupulate the existance of others for his own sake through generations of human life; brutalising,playing good but bad, stealing glories from others and putting themselves in all governance just to control the earth all the time, as if they are the source for references. They profess peace and produce weapons of mass destruction on earth, thinking it would never be used, sickening wishes.

They are placing checks on usages, while manufacturing the causes, engaging to solve problems while sabotaging their own efforts, owing to measle, weasle connivng interest, lurking to be exposed by the sages. The ways of the Lucifers looms on the horizons aeons to years of days, plaquing our universe with allures of glamour,diluting attributes of the creator, as if!!!!!!!. watch out precious souls of christ values. Lucifers manufactures false images of themselves; looking like dark, black ugly beast with horns and tails, yet the heavens say it was pretty, beautiful glistering wearing fine print of wax clothings harboring of dark ambitions of destruction of creation into his own image away from the creator and his beloved son. This has been their destortions into the brains and minds of millions of souls over the years. The saddening is their conquering of youthful and novice minds of up and coming generations, whiles others are trying to promote the values of the deserved Christ Jesus.

I was about to stop writing when I heard some teachings from Fieldrico channel 15 that puzzles me. He claim the book of John does not speaks about the cross of Jesus, which means the cross is not for jews.Please try and read all the books of John before jumping into your position of thoughts teacher Fieldrico. John 14:6 sum up to SALVATION. John 3:16 also sum up to SALVATION. Call me for a better teaching; on 703-541-3550. Jesus was a citizen of Rome as a jew, Moses and Jeshua were citizens of Egypt as jews, Most of the apostles or disciples were citizens of Rome, possibly, the person who bruised brains might be citizen of USA the superpower and a jew using this religion to go and build the temple of SOLOMON again. Under Solomon the nation split into two, Judaism and Isreal. I don't know who put them together as one nation Israel. I guess Israel connote spiritual blessings so, they adopted that but the heart of the citizens might not come from Israel but Juda, the man who enjoys prostitutes a lot, so much so that marriage did not mean anything to him.

If the cross of Jesus is not for jews, how then did Paul, Peter with Cornelius talks about the cross. Paul, Peter and John were all jews, who were born agains like Mary and Jesus Christ himself. Mr teacher, reading the bible does not mean you understands what you're reading. These men all talks about the cross when they talk about Jesus Christ. What Christ in human form did was different from the other prophets or men of God is his cross. Christ Jesus in human form completed the mission of SALVATION for God almighty. This is why phony human, can fake faith,hope,love,joy,happiness,the fruits of the spirits but not SALVATION, because standing infront of the then visible Lord God, your fake will be exposed as I am exposing mis-interpretations of the bible today by you. Understanding the total bible gives the whole wisdom of creation and lives within to the wisdom of the kingdom of the Lord God to come.

It looks like you are a jew and you are trying to promote the ways of jews to become the culture of the world today with politicians who legislate jewish cultures, the same time trying to bridge christianity. To tell you, they are incompactible, though christianity came out of judaism. It is like out of darkness cometh light, yet the light is incompactible to the darkness as they compliment each other. Philosophicaly, you might push your thinking to black and white skin, but this light has nothing to do with skin color,but the gospel wisdom. Talking about the skin color, didn't the blacks of USA enlightened the whites of USA out of their civil pain and frustrations through MLK? If the Lord God is using me to bring light to the current churches gives cause for outrageous religions? This light is the purity of God himself without blamishes through his son Jesus Christ not the son Lucifer who has spot like 2 Peter 2. The jews wants to build their old temple that Solomon built. When that temple was built it did not seize the evil ways of the jews. Now go to any church out there, being alone and stand by the door and try to hear the voice of God in that empty building. Preach what you hear tomorrow. Find a group of Christ believers under a tree and what ever you hear preach that too tomorrow, then make your conclusions. Whenever there're two or more born agains in the temple or santuary by the name of Jesus Christ, you might hear the voice of God, else the temple will be an empty building. Jesus Christ needs sanctuaries or temple for meeting and worshipping together else he wants the hearts of men. If I write and my writings corresponds exactly to the gospel, it is not a mere words but the voice of the Lord God. Because, I am born again and have the right to speak for my heavenly father Jesus Christ.

Has anybody seen Lucifer in spirit before. Where did he got the horns that western nations has been putting into the heart and minds of young children; so much so that when their children meet an agent of Lucifer they can't recognised them. They have been made to think that anybody who talks against their system of government and citizen of their nations might be evil with a horn. Most of the financial blessings of Abraham initially went to Ishmael of Saudi Arabia the child of the wilderness, which is the bushes, as of today.The blessings to Jacob was to carry limelight of God almighty on earth and they stray away, until the Lord God himself came to staighten his messages on earth to the correct proposition of himself. Which became the gospel of SALVATION, which entails so much, in fact all that Jesus did on earth sum up to the SALVATION gospel, which expresses grace/love, faith, hope, whatever shows goodness in Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus showed grace to the prostitute woman who was to be stoned.Preachers preach for believers to recognise the authority of Christ Jesus, else they are preaching themselves. To be able to speak directly into the mind of a person is not of God creation but from the agents of Lucifer on earth. That is an invasion of what God put on earth, moreso the person do not know anything about it in the beginning. God do not operate like that so the Lord God did not do such thing on earth. He will speak directly to anybody face to face, the jews who fail to focus on him will try to immitate that in another way, thinking that was the interpretations, manufacturing some vehicular sermons to fulfill their aims on earth, coming from their past glories. Many a times uninformed bible followers give them praises and right to situations on earth, truefuly they are devils of today. Meaning lived in B.C. DEVIL IS TO LIVED.

One more thing, DO NOT ALLOW SERVING NATION CONFUSE TRUE SCRIPTURES, HENCE A GENUINE CHRISTIANITY.Hitler was serving his nation. Sadam was serving his nation. Idi Amin was serving his nation.PauPoa was serving his nation. J.J. was serving his nation. G.W. Bush was serving his nation. Yet all these men harassed and killed their citizens in numerous ways for no apparent truthful reasons.

Values are the lacking problem of western civilizations. Owing to that people care less when inflicting pain on others. They are so obtuse so much that to take a gun and shoot others becomes fun. To take an electricity and beam that on others does not matter but fun. To separate families is a joke. All because of lack of values. A woman becomes prostitute, if not financial situation, then it is a lack of value. Some women think no matter how many men they sleep with, their vagina do not get consumed, so the next day she can meet another. If their vagina can get finish as many men they sleep with, they might preserve that vagina. Henceforth the lack of values allow them to go to sleep with other men as long as they please.

These type of ladies forget that the attractive body the Lord gave them is to put value on it so that their husbands will also place values on them. The movie indecent proposal is a typical example to look at. The moment the woman suggested to the man that I can do this for the money for your sake the man gave in and the end was disaster. The woman said," Not that I was a virgin when you met me, so it is alright for another man to have me." She went and she enjoyed it by devalued her body, maybe more than what the husband was giving her, yet she loved the husband. True love is always jealous so it cannot share it pleasure. However, western civilizations try to play with these things that end divorces and all kinds of family vices all because of holywood glamours.It takes values for teenage girls to stay virgin but society of advance civilization will not permit that. Things that should be free and command values are being destroy by western glamour.

Suicide bombers are able to carry their assaults, because they are defending their values, which they think the ways of the west is infringing on.The west is defending, thinking their way of life is being challenged, not thinking that the sort of life they are defending does not exist forever, even at all, it moves around from civilizations to civilizations. You brought this today to benefit, tomorrow someone will bring something to benefit.

It is all lack of PROPER VALUES which can be found in Christ Jesus and his SALVATION CAME for correct purposes of Life. The Lord God loved and still love the world, but the world loved him not. The world love darkness, not the light. Reagan was loved by the world.

Many pastors of the church were removed from office or suspended from the service of the Lord because their children had gone wayward at one time or the other. Many of these souls got lost and are languishing in the wilderness. God will definitely not be happy with lack of passion for souls reflecting in the manner in which other pastors are treated to the exclusion of others. If the General Superintendent is exempt from disciplining when his son goes wayward, what moral justification would the church profer? Sight should not be lost of the fact the devil's prime preoccupation is to destabilize ministries of all pastors by making their children wayward. Church leaders who discovered this in time have developed more pragmatic solutions to this problem. Next time around there should be a more sober reflection when diisciplinary action is to be taken against pastors for the wayward actions or omissions of their children so that both souls are not altogether lost.

Researchers who tested different types of popular lipsticks found at drug and department stores have found levels of toxic metals that can potentially lead to health problems.
"This preliminary study of metal content in lip products suggests potential public health concerns," wrote the authors of the new study, published May 2 in Environmental Health Perspectives, a government-funded journal.
For the study, researchers at the University of California, Berkeley's School of Public Health enlisted a group of 12 girls between the ages of 14 and 19 who were part of an Asian youth group and lived in low-income neighborhoods of Oakland, Calif. They were asked to record the brands and product names of all lipsticks and lip glosses they regularly carry and use at home.
The researchers then took this list to stores and purchased the products, 32 in all (8 lipsticks, 24 lip glosses). Back at the lab, researchers conducted spectrometry tests to determine the contents of the lipsticks.
They found detectable levels of lead, cadmium, chromium, aluminum and five other metals in the products.
Lead, a neurotoxin, was found in 24 products -- 75 percent of all tested -- and all examined products contained the metals manganese, titanium and aluminum.
Half the products contained lead in concentrations higher than 0.1. parts per million cap the U.S. Food and Drug Administration places on candy frequently eaten by small children.
Concentrations of metals varied greatly across products. For example, one product had the highest chromium concentration (9.72 ppm) and the second highest concentrations of cadmium, manganese, and lead (2.16, 35.3, and 1.25 ppm, respectively). The researchers did not find a clear pattern to predict toxin levels in terms of brands, color, whether it was lip gloss or lipstick or in the cost of the products, which ranged from about $6 to $24.
The researchers also analyzed potential risk for toxin exposure by comparing how often the lip products are used to the concentration of the toxins found in the products. Results were measured in term of average use and heavy use.
They determined the estimated chromium intake from 10 products tested exceeded acceptable daily intake levels when measuring average use. Chromium is a known human carcinogen, according to the researchers, that has been linked to lung cancer and stomach tumors through inhaling the metal or swallowing it.
Heavy use of lip products could lead to too much aluminum exposure for one of the products tested, and too much chromium for 22 products tested, and potentially dangerous levels of manganese in 7 of the products tested.
Cadmium, another metal found, is a carcinogen linked to lung cancer and damage to the respiratory system when inhaled. It's also found in low levels in drinking water, and the researchers suspect exposure through drinking water and heavy use of 10 of the products they tested may lead to too much exposure.
Estimated intakes for lead were well below their acceptable daily intake levels, even for high use, but the researchers noted children may be at greater risk from exposure since lead's effects are more pronounced in developing kids.
"Just finding these metals isn't the issue; it's the levels that matter," S. Katharine Hammond, professor of environmental health sciences at UC Berkeley and lead investigator of the study, said in a press release. "Some of the toxic metals are occurring at levels that could possibly have an effect in the long term."
The researchers say lipsticks and lip glosses may pose specific risks for consumers, because they are swallowed and absorbed little by little by those wearing them. They recommend blotting the lipstick after applying to reduce exposure, and called for tighter regulation of the cosmetic industry in the United States.
"As a group, these metals pose a host of potential health risks including damage to the brain and nerves, kidneys, as well as a variety of cancers," Dr. Ken Spaeth, director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Center at North Shore LIJ Health System in Great Neck, N.Y., told CBSNews.com in an email.
Spaeth was not involved in the research.
He said pregnant women are at heightened risk from the metals found in these lipsticks because they may cause neurological and cognitive problems for the developing fetus. Also at risk are young girls because their brains and organs are still developing, he said.
Poisonous puckers? Top 10 lead-filled lipsticks

He said some of these metals, such as lead, may be unsafe at any level. He also called for more rigorous regulation of the cosmetic industry, predicting this likely won't be the last study to find toxins in lipstick without tougher measures.
"From a public health policy perspective, there should be zero tolerance for such metals (and other toxic contaminants) in consumer products, and personal care products, in particular," said Spaeth.
A February 2012 study by the FDA found traces of lead in 400 lipsticks tested. The agency said at the time the reports about lead in lipstick "are not new," adding the products are ingested in very small quantities.
"We do not consider the lead levels we found in the lipsticks to be a safety concern," the FDA said at the time.
"The report does not provide any new meaningful information,"Dr. Linda Loretz, chief toxicologist for the Personal Care Products Council, said in a statement reaffirming lipstick's safety. "The finding of trace levels of metals in lip products is not unexpected given their natural presence in air, soil and water."
"Trace amounts of metals in lip products need to be put into context," she added. "Food is a primary source for many of these naturally present metals, and exposure from lip products is minimal in comparison."

The church teachings is very good but I think they need to find a way to balance their strict dress code since its what in your heart that counts to your salvation rather than what you wear or eat.

I am very sorry for Deeper Life Bible Church for the 'embarrasment' so to say caused by John & wife. But may I add that these two are adults and were brought up in this family,if at all they were not given a doctrinal discipline and not Biblical discipline, for some time,our fanaticism may push aside the bible tenets and put forward our dogmatic and doctrinal tenets as though they are all we need to make heaven.may God help us. Deeper Life has over years been known as being strict over their practices be it Kumuyi base or Bible based. One would wonder why the children of not just pastors,but topest of the tops of the church{ their pope so to say} should be the ones violating the rules. This couple on the other hand are adults and know what is good for them,they also know the scripture if they were not robbed of that in replacement with doctrine,so should know the bible standard. At a time, it was a taboo to own or watch Tv in deeper life, and now,kumuyi and others have come into what was a sin in deeper life. At that time,that was their level of understanding, there were members who were punished for violating the rule, may be who knows in years to come,the leadership of DLBC will understand that what Love was putting on was not the reason for the fight. Toxic metals and cancer risks found in lipsticks, lip glosses

Researchers who tested different types of popular lipsticks found at drug and department stores have found levels of toxic metals that can potentially lead to health problems.
"This preliminary study of metal content in lip products suggests potential public health concerns," wrote the authors of the new study, published May 2 in Environmental Health Perspectives, a government-funded journal.
For the study, researchers at the University of California, Berkeley's School of Public Health enlisted a group of 12 girls between the ages of 14 and 19 who were part of an Asian youth group and lived in low-income neighborhoods of Oakland, Calif. They were asked to record the brands and product names of all lipsticks and lip glosses they regularly carry and use at home.
The researchers then took this list to stores and purchased the products, 32 in all (8 lipsticks, 24 lip glosses). Back at the lab, researchers conducted spectrometry tests to determine the contents of the lipsticks.
They found detectable levels of lead, cadmium, chromium, aluminum and five other metals in the products.
Lead, a neurotoxin, was found in 24 products -- 75 percent of all tested -- and all examined products contained the metals manganese, titanium and aluminum.
Half the products contained lead in concentrations higher than 0.1. parts per million cap the U.S. Food and Drug Administration places on candy frequently eaten by small children.
Concentrations of metals varied greatly across products. For example, one product had the highest chromium concentration (9.72 ppm) and the second highest concentrations of cadmium, manganese, and lead (2.16, 35.3, and 1.25 ppm, respectively). The researchers did not find a clear pattern to predict toxin levels in terms of brands, color, whether it was lip gloss or lipstick or in the cost of the products, which ranged from about $6 to $24.
The researchers also analyzed potential risk for toxin exposure by comparing how often the lip products are used to the concentration of the toxins found in the products. Results were measured in term of average use and heavy use.
They determined the estimated chromium intake from 10 products tested exceeded acceptable daily intake levels when measuring average use. Chromium is a known human carcinogen, according to the researchers, that has been linked to lung cancer and stomach tumors through inhaling the metal or swallowing it.
Heavy use of lip products could lead to too much aluminum exposure for one of the products tested, and too much chromium for 22 products tested, and potentially dangerous levels of manganese in 7 of the products tested.
Cadmium, another metal found, is a carcinogen linked to lung cancer and damage to the respiratory system when inhaled. It's also found in low levels in drinking water, and the researchers suspect exposure through drinking water and heavy use of 10 of the products they tested may lead to too much exposure.
Estimated intakes for lead were well below their acceptable daily intake levels, even for high use, but the researchers noted children may be at greater risk from exposure since lead's effects are more pronounced in developing kids.
"Just finding these metals isn't the issue; it's the levels that matter," S. Katharine Hammond, professor of environmental health sciences at UC Berkeley and lead investigator of the study, said in a press release. "Some of the toxic metals are occurring at levels that could possibly have an effect in the long term."
The researchers say lipsticks and lip glosses may pose specific risks for consumers, because they are swallowed and absorbed little by little by those wearing them. They recommend blotting the lipstick after applying to reduce exposure, and called for tighter regulation of the cosmetic industry in the United States.
"As a group, these metals pose a host of potential health risks including damage to the brain and nerves, kidneys, as well as a variety of cancers," Dr. Ken Spaeth, director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Center at North Shore LIJ Health System in Great Neck, N.Y., told CBSNews.com in an email.
Spaeth was not involved in the research.
He said pregnant women are at heightened risk from the metals found in these lipsticks because they may cause neurological and cognitive problems for the developing fetus. Also at risk are young girls because their brains and organs are still developing, he said.

He said some of these metals, such as lead, may be unsafe at any level. He also called for more rigorous regulation of the cosmetic industry, predicting this likely won't be the last study to find toxins in lipstick without tougher measures.
"From a public health policy perspective, there should be zero tolerance for such metals (and other toxic contaminants) in consumer products, and personal care products, in particular," said Spaeth.
A February 2012 study by the FDA found traces of lead in 400 lipsticks tested. The agency said at the time the reports about lead in lipstick "are not new," adding the products are ingested in very small quantities.
"We do not consider the lead levels we found in the lipsticks to be a safety concern," the FDA said at the time.
"The report does not provide any new meaningful information,"Dr. Linda Loretz, chief toxicologist for the Personal Care Products Council, said in a statement reaffirming lipstick's safety. "The finding of trace levels of metals in lip products is not unexpected given their natural presence in air, soil and water."
"Trace amounts of metals in lip products need to be put into context," she added. "Food is a primary source for many of these naturally present metals, and exposure from lip products is minimal in comparison."
