The NDC would have to explain to Ghanaians how a dead man came to author and sign a letter!
The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”
The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?
The letter then goes on melodramatically, “As you leaf through these pages of my life’s story, I pray to God that it touches your heart in many positive ways. Weep not, I am not dead. I am alive and awake in the Lord. Ghana will not die; Ghana will live to declare the works of the Lord. As I rest in perfect peace in the celestial realms with my maker, I pledge to always uphold and defend the good name of Ghana. Remember the Lord in all your ways and He will protect you. Stay well my brothers and sisters, I will always be with you. Signed (with actual signature) John Evans Atta Mills...

Most lawyers and self-employed people in Ghana do not pay taxes on their income. The lawyers should start paying taxes first. The government could discourage cash transaction. In some countries any transaction with government department or agency should be by check or money order. again any time somebody withdraws more than 10,000 cedies from the bank the IRS should be notified. There are too many things the government can do to ensure that the self employed people pay their fair share of taxes.

If the Judiciary, and for that matter the courts is the third arm of government and the other two arms( Executive and parliament) are financed by the government, why not the Judiciary?. They are all equal parts of one body.

This is some of the results of central government. Mr Nii Ayikoi Otoo should rather ask the government to live up to its responsibilities. It is not for lawyers to finance those repairs. Let us be bold to tell the government to live up to its responsibilities. The government is shedding its responsibilities and dumping them on the people. Parents are forced to finance classroom blocks, dormitories etc for our secondary schools through the PTA Levies that has been imposed on parents and guardians who have wards in secondary schools. They even levy us for failing to attend PTA meetings. Corruption is now endemic in our society and the government seems unable or unwilling to deal with it.

Our government seeks money from wrong places. In united states, the judiciary are more of business entities than anything else. They raise money like crazy for the states so I wont have to pay higher taxes that end up in gutters anyway. This is why they are able to pay our taxes back to us at the end of the year. Let criminals pay for these things. Instead of sentencing someone three years, fine him GHC2000 and six months in prison, introduce police ticketing systems and fine people for violations of law like driving, littering, ect and have them pay through the courts. I was charged $150 for travelling at 75mph instead of 60mph. You think I speed again? No, i am more careful but can I never stop speeding? No, so they will keep making money off me for the state and i cant blame them for my own stupidity.Try this and the state will make so much money to care of little things like this and fight crime at the same time. Isn't this better than raising taxes and taking donation?
