Most of these govts were led by people who didnt belong to the majority but rather minority tribes and very marginal political clans . starting with nkrumah who is praised to high heaven but this same oligarchy , he st in motion a climate of fierce political antagonism whereby moderate minds of a liberal persuasion had no business in participating as only the radicals could stand the heat .The MOTIVE , be able to spend without consensus or agreement the wealth of the nation ie in today's jargon chop Ghana money some . It appears that your NPP has nicknamed you Sir, which does not fit you in any aspect of your life. You have just shown your ignorance by this comparison you made. The UK House of Lords do not sit to adjudicate on cases as you stated boldly. The UK also has Supreme Court that sit on
cases. If then, what are you talking about? What you and your likes forget is that, this petition case is the first kind in Ghana. Thus, the SC judges have to be very firm. However, they have being more moderate and tolerance than expected for period they have being sitting or started.

Looking at the numerous unsavory comments made by your like, the SC judges should have acted long ago. The Judges sitting on the petition itself is very delicate as they have to bring harmony on whatever final decision they arrived at for the peacefulness of Ghana. I am of opinion that the Judges should not and never will allow scandalous comments and threats from your like to deter them from carrying out a good and sound judgement.

Sometimes, I wonder how civilized all those Ghanaians pouring abuse on these highly qualified and matured SC judges are? The SC judges must be supported by all sane Ghanaians to do their job without fear or favour as it also happen in Developed Countries around the world.

The House of Lords used to be the Highest Appeal Court before the Supreme Court was established in 2005 under the Constitutional Reform Act 2005. And it became operational in 1 October 2005. The Twelve Lords of Appeal in Ordinary commonly referred to as the "Law Lords" which was within the House of Lords was moved as The Supreme Court. This completed the separation of powers of the Judiciary and the Legislature, though the legislature and the Executive are still fused. So you are only criticising Sir John without giving us the facts of what you know. You need to get your facts right if you really live in England.

Its okey to critise a Judge but to insult him is unacceptable in any civilised society! With all apology this man never makes sense when he talks and I'm being very charitable in saying that. Nana Akomea will make a far better General Secretary (in terms of wisdom, intelligence, tact, fluency etc). In fact this "cocoa ase krasini" (please pardon my poor Twi spellings) is a huge disgrace to Lawyers and Politicians, he is so unrefined, so uncouth!!!

The problem with Sir John particularly and Pratt to a lesser extent is their misunderstanding of the contempt of court laws.The impression is being given that there was confusion in the due process.Pratt could be forgiven for his lack of knowledge in that area of law.

The rules and procedures ie due process is set by the sc and that is what they followed in compliance with the constitution.

In effect due process was followed and the justices complied with every letter and spirit of the law.The question is was the there a publication which the judges after their last warning judged to be contempt if so then the only defence left for the contemnors is to purge themselves of the crime.

As a strict liability offense the question of intent is not required.What is required is if that publication exists and from whom it is coming from.Until we begin to educate ourselves on this, fakes like Owusu Afriyie and co will end up misleading their gullible supporters.

Please stop justifying the abuse of power by the SC judges. What they did was unlawful. Justices: Koranteng-Addo, Sarkodie-Addo and Agyapong must be rolling in their graves by what the SC justices actions. They need not let their deceased colleagues who were brutally murdered deaths go in vain. This is merely an assault on the Freedom of Speech and violation of human rights that I thought was settled and we fought for only a few decades ago. What these current SC justices are doing is only going to setback our young democracy.

Considering the sensitive nature of the petition, some aggrieved people may disturb the peace based on that comments should the judgment go the other way. So, in my opinion,I think Justice Atubuga did exactly what is expected of him by well meaning Ghanaians. As at now,everyone is an automatic jury member due to the Telecast .So,we could commend or criticize the bench only when their judgment is made public.
At the moment,please let spares the bench the problems of the BlackStars which has 24 million Coaches,Technical handlers,Tacticians,and Consultants.You know,we don't want 24million Justices of the Supreme Court,please.
Mr Pratt and members of his rank and file should rather educate their colleagues to good journalism and stop the biased utterances in support of culpable(blame worthy) colleagues.

This article was just inflaming passion among the public on one hand, and the nine judges presiding over the 2012 election petition as a whole.IF I may ask, when did Sir John granted that interview?, again, what was the motive behind the host replaying? I believe it was a calculated attempt to draw Sir John into the Supreme Court for undeserved punishment. please, let us be a bit truthful in our reportage!. That interview even if it is true ,was granted before Stephen Atubiga and Ken Kranchi were hauled to the Supreme Court. So why would someone instigate the Judges to call for his head?
