Great Satellites, you raised high the flag of Maaame/Daaaavi Ghana and gave us enough reason to cheer and celebrate, but the unnecessary yellow cards that you collected means we are going to the semi-finals with just half of our strength.

Our defence wall is "leaking" badly, and now with the absence of some of the 'toughies' as a result of their yellow card bans, only a miracle can help us out against the crack french lads.

That said, well done Satelites for giving us something to smile about in the land of Dum-sor,Dum-sor and high food prices in the season of fire outbreaks.

For the first time I witnessed a Ghanaian football team playing an international match with the necessary and expected seriousness.

The boys did not relax or become despondent any time when they went down. They outplayed their opponents to the delight of all discerning observers to always come back on level terms. But for a few natural slips here and there as always happens even with the best of teams, they were simply splendid and the final result justified the means. I would even go a step further to suggest that they should be made to replace the entire senior national team of arrogant, ill-bred, undisciplined, unmanageable and incoherent players.

They had an amazing 41 shots at goal as against 17 by their opponents. Whilst this indicated their effectiveness and hunger for goals in the forward, it also meant that either their opponents were defending well or the Satellites did not have the essential strategic ability to convert all those shots at goal into proper goals.

My greatest disappointment was in watching the match on NET-2 TV in Ghana where some two silly, incompetent and unprofessional boys who had been drafted as match analysts, gave the most pessimistic, discouraging and doomsday analysis of the Satellite players as well as the Coach during half-time. It was as if they were damning the Satellites to fail only to vindicate their ill-motives against the Coach. Personally I am one who for several extraneous reasons would prefer a foreign Coach for our national team but I must admit that the way these boys played, showed clearly that the Coach was on top of his game - a true professional indeed.

The shamed faces, sloppy and dejected body language of the two wannabe analysts, one of whom was referred to as a Coach of Lizzy Sports Club, after the match, indicated that they were still not satisfied that the heroic Satellites had won the match. It appeared that they would have rather wished that the Satellites lost the match just to prove that their senseless, prejudiced and empty lop-sided observations were justified.

Once again, we say Ayekoo! to the entire team of young valiant players of the Ghana Satellites team. Their performance was generally speaking, above par. I hope they can rise to the occasion to pay the French team back in kind in their next encounter with them in the next couple of days.

"What a simply superb game of football that was. A great advert for Under-20 football, but at any level that would have been a classic match. Istanbul has seen its fair share of dramatic matches in the past, namely the 2005 Champions League final, but this is almost up there with that. Superb match, one of the best I have seen for a long, long time. The Chile players are in tears, it must be heartbreaking to be eliminated like that.

9.39pmFrank Acheampong and Clifford Aboagye were instrumental for Ghana during that match. They performed brilliantly throughout and, without them, I doubt Ghana would have even made it to extra time. They now go on to face France in the semi-final on Wednesday, and if that is half the match we have seen today then we are in for a treat!"

This game was not for the weak at heart viewing or else funerals may result. What a game. In the end our fire-power prevailed. Congratulations for winning and sparring us the agony of a penalty shoot-out. These U20 warriors play so fearlessly and confidently that their play resembles that of that ferocious Black Star team of the 1960s which starred Baba Yara and the invincible soccer wizards. When General Sellas surveyed the team a couple of days ago and declared " We can beat any team now", he sounded the war-cry that entered the souls of the U20 boys. They are willing to play to the death.In particular, they played with collective team spirit, individual artistry, followed the coach's tactical strategy without much error, minimized suicidal defensive blunders,and played under the protective shield of Divine Grace of Yahweh.The next opponent is France. Sellas has to fix the yellow card problem. Should Sellas over-fix the defence? Sometimes your improvements can collectively hurt you by delivering you into the game-plan of your opponents!. In particular Offence and Defence are Heisenberg Pairs---when you fix one, the other may get worse.Maybe Sellas' off-side traps could be reviewed for cracks and re-alignment. France will also fall to the gallantry of the U20 warriors when the dust settles at the aftermath of the Showdown in Turkey.

A dramatic 121st-minute goal from Ebenezer Assifuah has taken Ghana through to the semi-finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup with a thrilling 4-3 win over Chile at Istanbul’s Ali Sami Yen Arena. The Black Satellites hero’s strike, his second of the match, completed a remarkable comeback in extra time and set up a last-four date with France on Wednesday.

This was a match that always promised goals and it did not take long for it to live up to expectations, with Ghana taking the lead inside 11 minutes. They did so with a strike that is sure to feature in the goal of the tournament, with 16-year-old Moses Odjer the player responsible. Controlling Frank Acheampong chipped cross on his chest, Odjer stepped forward on to the dropping ball, waited for it to reach the perfect height and smashed a beautifully struck right-foot volley into the top corner from 15 yards.

Ghana were good value for their lead at this stage but Chile always looked threatening on the break and midway through the first half they levelled matters with an equally spectacular goal. Christian Bravo was its architect, stealing possession in midfield and playing in Nicolas Castillo at the angle of the box. The in-form striker still had plenty to do but he continued his goal-a-game record at Turkey 2013 with a rocket of a shot, sent crashing into the roof of the net at Eric Antwi’s near post.

The Black Satellites were stunned and, four minutes later, they found that their one-goal lead had turned into a one-goal deficit. Angelo Henriquez was the player to punish the Africans on this occasion, holding off and spinning his marker before drilling a low right-foot shot just inside the post from 20 yards. Chile were in the ascendancy now and might have added to their advantage before the interval, first when Castillo curled just over from 20 yards and then when Andres Robles headed into the side-netting from Bryan Rabello’s inviting free-kick.

Indeed, while Ghana responded well in the second half, it was the South Americans who continued to carve out the better opportunities, with Antwi twice called upon in the opening minutes to keep out powerful, goal-bound efforts from Castillo and Henriquez. The Black Satellites did, however, miss a glorious opportunity to restore parity, with Abdul Rahman Baba slicing wildly wide after bustling his way into a great shooting position ten yards from goal.

The pressure finally told, though, with 18 minutes remaining when parity was restored. Clifford Aboagye was the brains behind the goal, drifting in from the right and flicking through an incisive outside-of-the-foot pass for Ebenezer Assifuah to toe-poke the ball low beyond Melo. Neither side could find a winner within normal time, so an additional 30 minutes was required, and it was during extra time that Henriquez scored for the second time. Springing the Ghana offside trap, the Manchester United striker stretched to reach a lofted through ball from Claudio Baeza and looped a perfect header over the stranded Antwi.

However, the drama wasn’t over yet and with seven minutes of the 120 remaining, Oboagye threaded another pass through for Seidu Salifu to slot under the body of the advancing Melo. And Ghana’s remarkable escape act was completed with the final attack of the game, one minute into stoppage time in extra time, when a disastrous breakdown in communication on Chile’s line allowed Assifuah’s tame bouncing header to sneak over the line.

Well, Kenny the Ghanaian rooster costs $3,000, a lot of money, but the farmer decides he'd be worth it. So, he buys Kenny. The farmer takes Kenny home and sets him down in the barnyard, but first he gave the rooster a pep talk. "I want you to pace yourself now. You've got a lot of chickens to service here, and you cost me a lot of money. Consequently, I'll need you to do a good job.! So, take your time and have some fun," the farmer said, with a chuckle.!
Kenny seems to understand, so the farmer points toward the hen house and Kenny takes off like a shot. WHAM! Kenny nails every Portugese hen in the hen house - three or four times, and the farmer is really shocked.
After that, the farmer hears a commotion in the duck pen and, sure enough, Kenny is in there. Later, the farmer sees Kenny after a flock of Chile geese down by the lake. Once again - WHAM! He gets all the Chile geese. By sunset he sees Kenny out in the fields chasing quail and pheasants.
The farmer is distraught and worried that his expensive rooster won't even last 24 hours. Sure enough, the farmer goes to bed and wakes up the next morning to find Kenny on his back out in the middle of the yard, mouth open, tongue hanging out and both feet sticking straight up in the air. Buzzards are circling overhead.
The farmer, saddened by the loss of such a colorful and expensive animal, shakes his head and says, "Oh, Kenny, I told you to pace yourself. I tried to get you to slow down, now look what you've done to yourself."

The standard was extremely low. I was also surprise at Coach Sarpong seating among those small idiots with a lot jealous of coaches handling the national teams. It was so childish on his part to say because he is frank and will not allow some things he is not given coaching assignments. Presupposing that Boubou and Appiah have informal dealings with the FA.

As people are advicing the coach to work on the defence,so must he also work on those up-front because they seems to be a little selfish when it comes to goal scoring.The problem is,everybody want to short and score while a pass can be laid at times for somebody else to score.Had it not been that selfishness upfront,the match could have ended within the stipulated 90 minutes.Therefore if they can proceed to the final by beating France in the semi finals and win the ultimate trophy,then they need to work on that upfront.

My grandson has registered in a youth soccer club as a midfielder and during his justify your inclusion period, the coach observed that any time he is with the ball and want to make a shot at goal, he raises his head up before he delivers the shot which always goes over the bar.

The coach then called him to the touch line and spoke to him to lower his head down and look at the ball and take his shots which has dramatically changed his over the bar syndrome.

I did noticed the over the bar syndrome with these gallant lads which the coach or some of you guys who are close to them need advise them on this issue. Ever watch Messi raising his head before taking a shot? Absolutely not. Kudos guys, we are proud of you all.

Sure, many of the boys were outstanding- Aboagye, Boakye, Salifu, Assifuah, Baba, Antwi, Ashia - but Acheampong was clearly the dangerman. Going forward they should tighten defence, and be confident against France, and learn to pass to a teammate in a better position to score.
