  Instead of bring 'Clans' together ie professionals (lawyers, engineers, computer geeks, doctors, teachers, masons, economists, bankers etc) with innovative thinking, start-up, silicon valley, out-of-the-box mind-set to solve tirades of problems challenging us and compete with the Asian tigers, we now going back to 'gari and shito' mind-set.

  Indeed this well intentioned initiative is poorly packaged! Oldboyism/oldgirism is one of many instruments for national cohesion. Not sure if the suggested approach is worth the trouble1

  The project is a failure from the start with Oti Boateng as the Patron. This chief has caused immense problems in New Juabeng. He has detroyed the sanctity of chieftaincy in the region. Currently, he is facing contempt suite in Koforidua High court, despite the fact that he has been dodging hearing with a pretext of illness.
  Oti Boateng is not popular even in his own family at Juabeng, let alone Koforidua. What contribition has he made to the progress of his old school Konongo-Odumase secondary school since he left the school? He is always self centered.
  Please find a more respectable Patron for the so called Old Student Profile.

  This is Ghana's deputy minister of education!!! With all the trials and tribulations that Ghana Education system is facing, a deputy minister has the time and clout to tout old students solidarity as a national agenda to solve national problems. Why can't Ablakwa sit down with leaders of our educational institutions and the private sector to forge a sincere partnership to delve into our broken educational system? Ablakwa, leave the formation of old-student assignment to the old students and school/college administrators. Ablakwa, this is not part of your job description. You have too much on your plate to handle than formation of old-student bloc.
