Did Ghana actually celebrate its 56th Anniversary on 6th March 2013? What is there to be celebrated? Is it the high level of corruption in the system, the numerous environmental challenges being faced, the weak public institutions, misappropriation of state funds in public institutions, the lack of basic amenities for the ordinary Ghanaian, high level of youth unemployment , poor and selfish Leadership, the incompetent workforce OR What?

Despite our country being endowed with an abundance of natural resources such as Rich soil, Timber, Gold, Bauxite, Salt, Diamond, Solar energy, an amazing Climate, Oil, etc. that have facilitated the development of many countries; Ghana sits on all these RESOURCES yet remains POOR. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MOTHER GHANA?

After 56 years, we lack essential needs such as; Good health care, Potable Water, Good roads, Stable Electricity, LPG, etc.

What really kills my spirit is the excessive abuse and degradation of our land resources, water resources and mineral resources. Is there any river in Ghana which has not been polluted? River Tano, Pra, Ankobra, Oti, Offin, etc. have all been polluted. Our agriculture land is at a serious risk due to the uncontrolled mining activities of illegal miners. What about the Chinese? They are illegally mining everywhere in the country leading to serious land and water pollution which could have serious repercussions in the not too distant future. Are the Environmental Protection Agency and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources still functioning in the country? If they are, what are they doing?

Why is the Government not enforcing the regulations that the state spent millions of cedis to enact? Despite the numerous concerns raised by Ghanaian, the president and the state institutions responsible seems not to care about the situation. Mr. President, have you actually considered the negative impact of these activities on posterity? What will happen to our beloved country by the next 20 years if this nuisance is not curtailed?

The government boasted of the yield of cocoa in 2010 that Ghana has achieved one million tons of cocoa. This is good enough to rejoice over. But my question is whether it is sustainable? Look at the number of cocoa farms that have been cut down or destroyed either for or by galamsey activities. Go to Amansie area (Manso), Dunkwa, Western Region, Eastern Region and the rest and see how cocoa farms have been destroyed. I am afraid; we can hardly sustain our cocoa yield until this menace stops.

Come to think of it, is Ghana going to spend 13750000 Ghana Cedis every four years as housing allowances for MPs? Even half of this money can be used to build very respectable MPs village which will accommodate our MPs. After their term of office, others will come and inhabit them. This will be beneficial to Ghana today and to posterity. Have our leaders considered this? Is it lack of basic economic managerial skills or it is just self-centeredness?

Ghanaians have really become slaves in the hands of our own leaders. They think mainly about themselves and their families and not mother Ghana. What a pity!

I do not see why Ghana continuously depends on foreign aids. When are we going to be fully responsible for our own needs? Amazingly, those who give us these so called aids do not have as much natural resources as Ghana. What is wrong with Ghana?

To the developed countries that are always giving to Ghana; you are not helping us to develop. If you think you are the master fishers, then teach Ghanaians how to fish instead of giving us the fish. After giving us the fish, you come back in well calculated ways to eat back what you have given to us. Are you doing us harm or good?

Let me rest here, it is too painful to continue writing on the problems of Ghana. Oh God, Come to our aid because GHANA IS VERY SICK!!!!!!!!!!

Sammy Awuku went to the court to admit his mistakes and rendered unconditional apology. Mr Kuranchie goes to the court and challenges the judges that their decision was wrong about Sammy Awuku's issue, to which Sam Awuku himself had rendered sincere apology. In the light of this what sort of hero did Kuranchie seek to become. To me it is silly and unbenefiting heroism.

As he states, he will do it again if the ohance is given to him. Nobody will offer him such prescribed chance because I believe many people have learnt from what happened and are wiser now. Therefore, Mr Kuranchie can create his own chances and go to the court again and become a hero as many times as he chooses.

Can u imagine his Lawyers advised him not to use the word "if", but he stupidly repeated it 3 times, after which his won lawyers conceded their client was confused in open court? Only in Ghana do we make heroes of stupid people. If this guy were to be in America, he'd be hiding by now.

My main concern however is the comments he made about conditions in prison, Atubiga made similar comments.Who is going to look at this problem. The solutions needs not cost a penny, alternative sentencing for most crimes would actually reduce the cost of running these prisons and release some funds to improve conditions

I would like to use this opportunity to let Justice Atuguba of Supreme Court to know that we are not in a Military Rule but in Democratic Rule. Therefore he has no right to frighten Ghanaians with the so-called contempt because we are in Democracy. In this case our media in Ghana should also have their liberty to work.

The Sumpreme court should have first of all called John Mahamah for the contempt if they are being realistic.

That man who said there would be a civil war if the ruling of the case do not favour the NDC should also have spent long term jail. This is what is actually called trising or whatever, yet nothing was done to him.

well on the other hand I think that the judges perhaps were trying to send some signals to the entire nation so as to put a stop to unnecessary comments on the election petition. Apart from that there was no bases calling SA to appear before the sc, let alone summoning ken whose only crime was commenting on the decision of the sc ( ie to question SA.)

What really amounted to contempt was Atobiga's comment which he himself described as irresponsible.

Ken's incarceration was simply because he did not show any remorse/fear before the judges for commenting of the judges decision. For me that singles him out as a principled man with a lot of convictions. Ken is a real hero, he's spoken his mind!!!!!

There is something sicking in this country. It is either we are bias or we lack the capacity to fully analyze what people say. This man has been sent to prison for statements that formed part of his publication. But the core of the issue upon which he made those statements has not been resolved, how do you expect him to keep quite. I wish most Ghanians have this character to stand for what they believe in no matter the consequence.

When we have problems, in this country, we are always content with finding a scape goat rather than solving the problem itself. Does sending to prison of Ken alone answer the legitimate question he posed in his publication? The SC would do us good by both punishing people and addressing the issues that caused their unacceptable behavior, since science teaches us that action and reaction are essentially the. same. You can not correct my reaction when the action that caused it has not been attended to. This is a simple fact of nature.

What clarification does Ken Kuranchie wants to be clarified by the court? This ''stupid'' bravery will not help either.
This person is up to a trick to make the NPP give him a political appointment or reward him in the future for pursuing a course which is beneficial to that party. But we shall see if the NPP will come to party to reward him in the future which he is waiting for.
I wish to call on all credible memebers of the CPP who believes in Nkrumaism to begin mobilizing and strategizing for the future because I see a bright opportunity coming for the party to once again assume the leadership of this country.
In the same vein, I want the party to open a channel of communication between the party and all such members for a very useful communication.Some of us have a lot in the head which the NDC has benefitted in the past particularly in 2008 and 2012. We are ready to make these store of ideas available to the CPP. Ghanaians are going to see a new generational ideas coming into our politics.
For over 22 years I have never failed in asking my creator for wisdom which He bestowed on King Solomon of ancient Israel. We shall cause a tremor in the political landscape of Osagyefo's Ghana. It is just a matter of time.
The profession we find ourselves has not allowed us time but the time has come for us to move out to give and use what God has given us, to the people of Ghana.
I advise the Supreme Court to incarcerate Ken as many times he offends the Laws of Ghana. He is no special person. What school did he attend or his achievement on this earth apart from using his newspaper to champion the course of the NPP. We are ready for him.
