IFC Fallout: 4 Ghanaians Sit On Illusory Trust Fund

Tue, 1 Oct 2002 Source: Chronicle

IN ANTICIPATION of the multi- billion dollar cash that is now in doubt, the Government appointed four Ghanaians to partner three others nominated by the Consortium.

The names have gone through some changes over the last eight weeks.

In fact, one of the earliest names to be yanked off the list is a brother of Professor Ayensu, banker and diplomat, Vishnu.

The illustrious Professor himself also added his name to the list of his family members.

The other was the cool Minister of Employment and Social Welfare Mrs. Cecilia Bannerman, senior sister of the controversial Dr. Nii Narku Quaynor, sidekick of Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, deeply involved in the unseemly, fraudulent original set up of Ghana Telecom with the Malaysians and currently in court over a property, housing his offices opposite the BNI headquarters in Accra that he has appropriated as his own.

One name that may still be on the list is that of the popular Member of Parliament and former Minister for Private Sector Development, Mr. C.O. Nyanor.

There was talk of his replacement by a member of the Council of State.

Recently, there was a lot of 'lapor' and 'konkonsah' at the Castle and Ayensu's brother name was yanked off the list much to his own discomfiture.

Honourable J.H. Mensah's name completes the list of top people who will constitute the Trust Fund set up with the single purpose of administering the magical miracle fund.

The three others are Europeans. In the classic Akan saying, the bed has been all laid up with silk sheets.

The only thing we are waiting for is the woman.
