You should get it into your Tikenenkene skull that the fact that you acquire your PhD at 25 does not make you superhuman, others like the Wright Brothers, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and even Apostle Kwadwo Sao have invented amazing things and yet cannot boast of a single degree. You Wrecking Brobbey should be the last person to be talking about "fools" since your background shouldn't be a source for you to be humpty and puffy. Your grandmother was popularly called Amma K or Konadu. Yes your uncle was Victor Owusu, we know that but isn't it strange you do not talk about your mother, father and other uncle?

Let me dress you down a little. Your mother was popularly called Baby and your other uncle besides Victor Owusu was called Kutruku. Both of these people, Baby and Kutruku were mad people; basket case and asylum bound. Your mother used to strip herself naked in public and her kids, sired by unknown wayward men, including Malians and Burkinabes who exploited her madness to their advantage, from Mbrom (Kumasi suburb) to Kumasi Central Market, were taken from her and given to other relatives - Christie, Victor, and late chief of Agona - to mention a few. That is how you were raised, by your uncles and Auntie Christie.

Sometimes I wished Wereko Brobbey will emulate his cousin, ex-General Secretary of the United Nations, Busumuru Kofi Annan in humility and grace.

Thank your stars your extended family, the ruling clan at Agona, Ashanti Region, was rich and afforded you the opportunity to attend best schools both in Ghana and the UK. That is how you managed to get your PhD so quickly. Privileges, rather than acumen put you ahead of the game. In Ghana in those days if your family was rich and can afford to send you to the UK, you could practically shave off 5 to 7years, as compared to your Ghanaian counterparts, towards your first degree. So money and connections rather than academic prowess got you ahead. Allan Kyerematten and John Kufour went by the same route rather than taking 21years before they got their first degrees by which time one would have been 26 or 27years in Ghana to finish first degree (10 years elementary + 7years secondary + 4years university first degree + 6years before one could start elementary school). All his paapaa is to feed his ego of entitlement and desire to keep privileges he enjoyed as a child. If he were that wise and not only book intelligent, he would have realized one cannot be insulting of the people he wishes to lead. Political power can only be derived from the people, of course there are usurpers like coup makers, but genuine political power is earned from the people, majority of who don't have degrees to boast about. Isn't it contra-intelligence that you want to be their leader and yet have no respect for them because they don't have degrees, especially PhD? How can you be so obtuse and bum, Wereko Brobbey? Let's say you succeeded in becoming the president of Ghana when you ran for it, don't you realize you would have become the number one fool by your own standards? Leader of fools as the first gentleman. Ofui!

As a descendant of the great Okomfo Anokye, Wereko Brobbey should bow down his head in shame for seeing people and respecting them only by measure of what degrees they hold and not their character, dignity, decency, wisdom and humanity. Your celebrated ancestor together with Osei Tutu laid the foundation of a great nation that is still holding to this day, he never saw the inside of a classroom.

For those of you who don't know, the Agona chieftaincy stool was especially created as a reward to Okomfo Anokye by King Osei Tutu. Okomfo Anokye's bloodline has led to people like Busumuru Kofi Annan, Victor Owusu of blessed memory, and the royal house in Agona today.

Agona is where he Okomfo Anokye settled with his immediate family. Busumuru Kofi Annan's father was a Fanti but his mother was a cousin of Victor Owusu and an Ashanti, hailing from Agona, all of whom are related to the Agona stool and descended from the royal family that started with Okomfo Anokye. The family has become very rich cocoa farmers, land and property owners, and well connected. These privileges were what Wereko Brobbey rode on to get ahead in the school race just as Busumuru Kofi Annan and few others. It is the same privileges and connections that got him to VRA and Ghana@50. In a way those appointments were Kufour’s "thank yous" to his uncle Victor Owusu for mentoring him early on as his deputy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wereko Brobbey's temper tantrums are testimonies to the fact that he still craves for those connections and privileges, that is why he recently signed off his articles and communications as Victor Owusu's nephew. He should paddle his own canoe like the rest of us do and let us see his smoothness level, as Kwesi Pratt will say. Any successful man who does not include or mention luck and help in his rise to the top is a liar and dishonorable (Larry King).

Then, for Masters, it would take 2 years, and some who continue straight up for PHD., that could be in only 1year. But even if the PHD. took 2 years, that would bring him up to the 7 years total Varsity Education to acquire the PHD.

Just going over the probability with you. I am not sure whether Dr. Wereko-Brobbey even attended all his Secondary School in Ghana. If he studied abroad from his early years, he could have well shaved off more years from his Elementary through Secondary.

He and Osei Tutu created the confederacy that became known as Asante or Ashanti. Komfo Anokye gave the Asantes the Golden Stool, the very embodiment of who they are. Can anybody be more Asante than that? So to say he originated from Akuapem, but he became a great man among the Ashantis. It was in recognition of that they honored and rewarded him generously and settled him at Agona. A stool - chieftaincy - with lands to go along with were created or carved out for him. So in a sense he became an Asante. He helped in its creation and in that sense can be said he was a founding member of today's Asantes. What is hard here to comprehend? There are many of us in the diaspora who have taken citizenship in our adopted countries. Look at Komfo Anokye and Asante in that sense.

Much as I do admire the true background of this Tarzan dude, I simply disagree with the pomposity he is using to drive home his message of being super-hero of achieving his PhD at the age of 25.

Whatever he had enuncianted with his debacle with the NPP Hierarchy goes to show how little mind he has, as well as making the past President Kufour looking like a True Statesman defending or supporting BOGANS.

As far as I am concerned,- the sentencing meted out to TARZAN who hardly earned his position in the NPP as an Executive of the VRA- was just too innocuous. In other words he should have been banned for life from the Party.

This is an area that I have always disagreed with KUFOUR for his support towards this TARZAN and ALAN CASH.

Our Kofi Annan, being Fanti partly, as well as my own GREAT GRAND FATHER, WILSON SEY, who donated Lands for both the Mfantsipim and Partly Adisadel Colleges for their establishments could NOT be used by us to shed lights to our interests.

As someone belonging to the UNITED PARTY TRADITION (UP/DOMBO)which now symbolises the NPP from my late Uncle B.J. da Rocha and many others, I find it insulting for people like TARZAN and to certain extent, KUFOUR's continued support for him during his Presidency.

This present Election Petition has done more GOOD THAN HARM, in that it has really gone a long way to know the real enemies within our NPP as a Party.

As I always say, SOME DOCTORS MAKE YOU SSSSSICK AND OTHERS MAKE YOU WELL !!!

IT IS NOT OVER UNTIL IT IS OVER!!!!!!

But let's step back a moment and think about what is the reason of all these. The reason is Nana Addo. His parents were rich and has been helped but he can't even show us his certificate. Meanwhile, he is sitting quite pretty, eating camel meat everyday and aging fast. He can't hear no good, and can't see a mere three feet away without big hefty glasses. But only registered his concern with the media and the public at large when he was flatly ignored. If not mistaken, all witnessed a similar riffraff between Jerry John Rawlings and the late President Atta Mills and then again Asiedu Nkatia and Kofi Adams.

In all these cases there were some level of decorum among the individuals involved and personal attacks were suppressed to the tolerating acceptance before the media. So, why can you do same toward one another in the so-called credible party of yours?

We can think of others like the Trokosi goon, Justice Kpegah, Rawlings and the likes. Wereko must be told that there're many people around, in the quiet, who acquired Ph.Ds earlier than he did. Wereko-Brobby is simply mad. He should count himself lucky for the position he was privileged to have held as VRA boss. What did he do there for which he'll be remembered? Nothing, they all come to enrich themselves, fade away and resurface when the pool of wealth they selfishly acquired drains up. Bill Gate was and is his own boss, and he didn't have to be a Ph.D holder. This bragging tongue is a common phenomenon in Africa, so we're impoverished even in the amidst of numerous resources that the continent is endowed with. Ironically, we have all these so-called Ph.D holders in every party, yet a confused NDC government invited American experts, and as they put it, to 'unravel the mystery' behind the recent market fires. If we have all these learned people, why do we allow ordinary Chinese people to spill into the country through unorthodox means and take us by storm, only for a useless government to intervene after their prolonged, nefarious and illegal mining activity that culminated in the deaths of many innocent Ghanaians? You can't overstay your welcome in China for a day without being arrested, jailed, fined and deported. Neither can you kill a 'fly', or engage in any illegal or shady deals. So it's mindboggling to think that people will praise a government that watched and supervised the activity of these 'become-rich-by-all-means', illegal Chinese miners from start to boiling point, before coming to 'crack the whip'.

However it is rather pompous of Dr Wireko-Brobbey to suggest that because he has a PhD, no one "Can" insult him "unless they also have a PhD". This is rather typical of the arrogance of the man for which he and I cannot agree on most issues.

I can understand his frustration with his party and the "unwarranted insults" he is receiving for daring to stand up and be counted against the current crop of 'leaderless, rudderless sailors' drifting off our coasts and almost completely out of control with no clue as to how to 'steer their ship' in the right direction. That however does not give Dr Wireko-Brobbey the right to 'invoke' his PhD as the basis for any arguments with him or a challenge.

It seems he has soon forgotten that he was the very person describing another PhD holder in his party and "Star Witness" for the petitioners in court on the very case that has landed him where he is now, Dr Bawumiah as "clueless and naive". I agreed with his assessment of Dr Bawumiah who although a PhD holder is a pathetic apology of a scholar and intellectual. So for him to make such such utterances (if indeed true) is rather unfortunate.

Irrespective of whether Dr. Wereko-Brobby is arrogant or boastful or has not done anything for Ghana, there is one thing that he is drawing our attention to: personal achievement, being it academic or otherwise. The critical question we need to ask ourselves is this: What have done with our lives? What have we been able to achieve as individuals? Dr. Wereko-Brobby can boast of the highest academic achievement, PhD, and he has every right to do so, whether he was privileged or not. What about you?

He can say that he is able to put food on the table for his nucleus family, and even the extended family. What about you?

Not in many words, he recognises the importance of education and how Ghana will be better off if we had a critical mass of PhD holders; people with critical minds. Unfortunately Ghana has not been fortunate and that accounts for much of our problems and standard of living. A critical mind adds value to governance, knowledge, development and research, and as a country shouldn't we be worried for the dearth of this personality trait? I am sure I have touched the "wrong button" in the eyes of many, and what comes next should not make me cry.

Is this over-lording with scholastic achievement not characteristic of our old elitist leaders? They always think all ought to serve them as slaves because they are better educated. Education alone, to them, is the reason why the rest of us should worship them and should never question their motives in all decisions.

Unfortunately, NPP has a larger share of such arrogant pricks than any other Party. So, it makes many folks reluctant to join the Party, thinking it is simply a Party for the Academic elites.

Now, we can address this perception honestly and help our Parties to listen better to others without Phd.s. This is because it takes not only the brain but the heart to survive. It takes certain understanding to accommodate the view of others to build a strong Nation. I think Wereko-Brobbey made an unpalatable statement that shows some disdain to many.

I hope he did not mean it as it was reported. He might have directed that verbal assault to only a particular subset of our Population, even of his Party, NPP, who had been on his case lately.

Besides, with his high Academic prowess, he must be one of the first to admit that practical intelligence, especially in dealing with People, including governance, is not a monopoly for only those with Phd.s.

The Bill Gates' and Larry Ellisons of the World could not be said to be dummies that are not deserving of sharing a discourse with Tarzan. Kufuor did not have a Phd., yet Tarzan accepted to be his subordinate and served under him.
