The resultant effect of over taxation is the shrinking of economic activity and invariably the taxes will not be collected. 40% of our development budget is wasted!!! Simple economics tells you that if you have a fixed income, you must manage you expenditures to be able to save else you will forever remain in debt. How do economies that have surpluses do it? You drop taxes for businesses to be profitable then you tax the profits, you do not kill them through taxation first and then do what after they are dead? YOU GO PAN IN HAND BEGGING FOR ALMS (LOANS)??? Shame on you intellectuals and politicians!!

  Ghanaians need to seriously wake up and kick out these useless and selfish government. They clearly do not know what they are doing other than blatantly chopping money.Akuffo Addo should not let them get away with it. This huge deficit plus the arrears we still have shows the extent of the corruption we have. An overspend can only come about as a result of increase in prices or the quantity/services procured so the gov should be able to easily tell us where this overspend went to. They just keep giving us betty mould type of answers when questioned.
  We need to see alot more questions from the opposition for the gov to account. CPP,PPP, PNC and all the other parties should come together on this issue. We seriously need to prosecute and jail all those responsible for this. At least the NPP are doing alittle bit but when it comes to the other parties, you hear absolutely nothing. Is it bcos they see nothing wrong? or like stupid coughing Ayariga,someone has put something in their pocket?CPP leaders, you a big disappointment,why don't you join the NDC and allow the next generation to take over

  From 2009 till 2012, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey should tell us, from the Auditor's general report, how much money has been squandered, pilfered, wasted, misappropriated, mismanaged, stolen, used to pay dubious judgment debt through fraud, used to buy elections through manipulation of votes via irregularities, omissions, statutory violations and malpractices? Fifi kwetey should add up those figures because, it seems that is a bit simple for him and tell us, if the quantum of the sheer amount involved warrants the introduction of any taxes on the citizenry if one was to avert his mind to the amount involved. And this happens year after year from the auditor's general report. So what exactly is Fifi kwetey talking about? By gov't addressing these lapses alone which happens year after year from the auditor's general report, huge amounts of money would be saved. Is this inept dimwit saying that he does not get this basic concept? Now let's tackle the issue of borrowing. Nobody has said that gov't should not borrow. But in the midst of such waste presided by a bunch of brain dead, incompetent and inept administrators like Fifi kwetey, where is the country headed if not HIPC. The writings are all on the wall and dimwits like Fifi kwetey should spare us his analysis which is absolute nonsense and speaks to the fact of his ineptitude and a profound misunderstanding of the issues and even the results of credit ratings from the rating agencies. Such an individual is a minister at the very epicenter of our finances and economy. It's no wonder that the country is experiencing these untold hardships, which they have conveniently termed as challenges, which to all intents and purposes are symptoms of failed policy interventions, which requires a fundamental shift in focus and policy direction.
