The government cannot continue to increase taxes for the few people in business to increase revenue. Such policies kill job creation. Government has to create tax incentives for those who want to open new businesses instead of always taxing to increase revenue.

Secondly, less than 25% of Ghanaians pay taxes and government has to find a way of making those not paying taxes to pay tax instead of taxing those identified taxpayers out of business. NDC has no idea how to get the economy out of the doldrums it is in right now.

Waste is the biggest problem in Ghana. A whole lot of Government expenditure go wasted but it does not mean the tax net should not be widened.

In analyzing current public expenditure which stands at 38billion dollars, Osafo Marfo forgot to factor in the growth rate thereafter and the expected rise in growth after such injections. This makes his argument for the increased debt flawed.

Then one other thing Osafo Marfo forgot to factor in again was the increased population from Kronfuors Administration, the influx including the Chinese and the Nigerians etc.

Unemployment has always been a problem where all shoeshine-boys and girls have populated the cities instead of engaging in cassava cultivation or going to join 31st December womens movement to improve the lives of the village dwellers.

Those in Sodom and Gomorrah should be given Government farms or ship all of them to the villages and farms to have something positive doing.

Rather than putting additional tax burden on innocent individuals, the NDC Government should tell Ghanaians what strategies are being put in place to retrieve illegslly acquired funds fromm debtors. If the Government want Ghanaians to be patriotic and pat their taxes, then they must demonstrate leadership and a sense of commitment and responsibility by eschewing gargantuan corruption in governance. What is going on is a betrayal of the people's trust. All of us in this country, those born and unborn have entrusted the government with all our mineral resources, human resouces, finacial resources, logistical resources yet we are still being told to pay more taxes before we get roads whether bad or good etc. So why did we give governments those resources in the first place if they won't use it for our benefit? Both the NDC and NPP, are they correct? You sometimes wonder whether they really understand what they are suppose to do for the us. Ministers who are suppose to be out there spreading, convincing and implementing electoral promises, manifestoes and ideology are now behaving as administrators, managers and lawyers crying for for equity. Be it National Insurance, VAT, Poll Tax/Council tax, Import Tax/duty, Trade Tariff etc. Tax is not only a percentage contribution by an employee or employer into the government coffers. Cardinal is still hanging unto the simple' demand and supply' theory. You cannot run the economy of a country same as running your domestic household where you can say that you cannot spend more than you can afford. In running a country is more at a macro level. You have to borrow money for investing into the economy to stimulate economic activities which would in turn, generate jobs, increase revenue and standard of living, growth,balance of Payment and GDP. In every economy taxes also supplement the National revenue so taxes are sources of Income for the government. The point is what formulae and how are taxes are collected?. Again it depends on the priority of the government i.e on education, infrastructure, environment, health, Arts, electricity, social services etc. Therefore the economy/business of running a Nation is very complex. In fact, more complex than simple taxation or employment as Cardinal wants readers to understand. If it was all that easy and simple, experts and intellectual gurus in the would have by now solved the current long and unpredictable and stagnant world wide economic and financial problems which, are serious social and economic concerns. So it appears that CARDINAL is simply intellectually lazy and must stop calling others idiots. Cardinal I can understand is at the 'demand and supply theory level. Mahama , without no shame have spent ghana's money to satisfy his ambition to win the elections. This had been prepared since the jugdement debts by Woyome with the collaboration of other NDC gurus. And now, that the rainbows are over, they turn over to ghanaians imposing them with taxes. Fifi Kwetey,is only a bluff!
