Now my mind is cool and calm and I am better off single than to live with a prostitute look alike for the rest of my life. Its unfortunate lots of men think its right for decent women to dress like prostitutes. The truth is that they frown upon their own sisters or mothers going that route. Some women think by dressing that way people 'll see them as civilized but again the truth is that decent people see such women as uncouth indecent and way down the ladder. The decent women in our society who claim Ghana is a Christian country like the womens aglow 'movement' should rather try to right some of these things. I don't think God wants women to go half naked in the streets. Ghanaians in general lack decency, its in our blood. Look at the way we urinate both men and women in the streets and we see nothing wrong with it. Go to Lome, just next door and you'll never see such a thing in their city. We are too backward. Most television anchors (WOMEN) are decently dressed on American tv but not our women on Ghana tv. On the flip side, Ghanaian women think its nicer to copy the white woman.

I also want to ask the author if he's considered that a lot of stuff we wear in Ghana are imported? Guess he's going to push for a consitutional amendment to ban the importation of jeans; better yet, for Ghana to establish factories that manufacture women's clothes.... People dress weather-appropriate. I live in an European country and when it's winter, no one tells you to cover every inch of your body - you just instinctively do it. It is summer now (and a very hot one at that) and men are going topless and women are wearing tiny shorts and boobtubes. Basically, people are trying to regulate their body temperatures and bigoted Pharisees like you would see morality issues with it!
Ghanaian-approved dress code is an example of our hypocrisy as a nation - why do people have to cover up from neck to feet in our 30 degree weather? Every other warm/hot country (outside Africa) has adopted a tropical dress code - short shorts, tank tops etc. Our hypocrisy is further underlined by the fact that we don't see anything wrong with a Caucasian (tourist) wearing skimpy shorts and a boob-tube in Ghana because "Of course, they feel hot", but let a Ghanaian wear the same - she would most likely be stripped naked if she ventured near heavily-populated public places like Nkrumah Circle. She doesn't have the right to feel hot in public.
I find it very appalling that you can ascribe something as whimsical as a woman's choice of clothing as the main cause for the evil social canker that is rape. Rape happens when uncivilized chauvinistic misogynists like you feel they have the right to violate a woman's body just because she's flashed some flesh and they don't have the wherewithal or indeed the inclination to control their animal instincts.
You assume God takes offense to seeing people in revealing clothes. Read your Bible - God created us naked. He only clothed Adam and Eve when THEY became embarrassed about being naked. God was cool with it, THEY were not.
