He was able to bring in money from the international community to construct important projects that is uncomparable to any done by any past or present government. Focus your mind on the Bui dam, and it is Kuffour. Gaze at the discovery of OIL and it is Kuffour. Look at N 1 and Akwapim mountain Highway and it is Kuffour. The building of all three main sports stadia and it is Kuffour. Dr. Kuffour is the originator of Free maternal care, the national health insurance scheme, school feeding program for students,NHIS, free cocoa spraying for farmers, improved workers salary, easy availability of loans for workers and small businesses, restoring and face lifting of government buildings left dilapidated by evil NDC. Notably, the Castle & Peduase Lodge, rebuilt the Flag staff house. Kuffour ensured freedom of speech, brought the national youth employment scheme,raised ghana from HIPC to lower middle income economy, and many many more. It took him just eight years to do all those. NDC has been on the spot light as a ruling government for a total of about 25 years, there is not even one single developmental project, not even one... come on and how foolish can anyone be to do nothing but insult such a statesman? If this stupid group called Inside Ghana (NDC thieves)has nothing good to say about Kuffour, they must go probe Mahama the chief thief, Atta Mills the hypocrite and JJ Rawlings the murderer and all will not be the same again. Fools.

I usually tried my best not to meddle in the murky waters of politics with my articles because of the wrath it exudes from readers. Nonetheless I am obliged to write this piece because of my personal involvement in the activities of NPP prior to 2000 elections. Just like many other Ghanaians I heeded to the call for a ‘Positive Change’ in the 1990s and volunteered as a party activist. One key factor influenced my decision. I was convinced the party had the men capable of fixing our tattered economy and bring back smiles on faces of the dog chain sellers on the streets of Accra. Affordable houses will spring up so Ghanaians will live in descent homes once again.

This is because the party is supposed to be full of men who have been successful in their various fields of endeavours. Self made and accomplished men, seasoned lawyers, economic giants, talented engineers, business moguls etc. Most of who owned houses in the plush areas of Accra before coming into politics.

Yes I heeded to the call and spent most of my youthful days as activist for the NPP. In my constituency West Wuogon (West Ayawaso) I was a NPP ward secretary which means I was highly involved in the party’s activities at the constituency level. My involvement in the party brought me into direct contact with Party Constituency Executives. For instance I met many times with the late Colonel Addai Dauh, the then constituency Chairman, George Amoo former MP for the Constituency, Dr Safo Adu etc. Together with some other activists we campaigned in hostile NDC strongholds of the indigenous Ga people in constituency at the peril of our lives.

Horrors of corruptions

Little did I know I was doing all these for the party leaders to visit horror on the loving people of Ghana? I am so angry with the leaders for this betrayal. This was not the ‘positive change’ they promised us during the party forums at the university of Ghana campus in 1990s which made us joined in droves?

News about sordid deeds perpetrated by NPP on the poor people of Ghana is all over. Corruption and looting at very high echelons of the party is rife on the internet. Bizarrely instead of refuting these allegations the perpetrators brazenly justified their actions. There was this so called diplomat who was reported of transferring a Japanese grant into his personal accounts and he came out to give a long Kweku Ananse story in his defence. The following allegations were all justified or defended shamelessly.

Kwamena Bartels giving state money to his children, involvement of Kuffour’s son in the hotel gate incident, his daughter’s shopping mall sprees. Hackman Owusu Agyeman affordable houses loot, Ghana@ 50 benders, the mystery of the jaguar cars and the Sahara gate? The 50 cent bling bling chains and ‘dongomi’ honours.

I feel so embarrassed because during our campaign days most of the electorates kept saying ‘NPP leaders are thieves, greedy’ etc. A cousin of mine made a poignant assertion to the effect the NPP leaders will sell the country if they win the election. He was perfectly right. The NPP leaders have not only looted state lands but bungalows as well. Almost half of affordable houses meant for teachers, nurses, workers etc were plundered when they were still under construction. I just can’t imagine how I am going to face my cousin and many others in the future without them blurting at me ‘we told you so.’

The thievery of Kufour had turned JJ Rawlings into a hero. Kufour’s marauding attitude has made mockery of IK Acheampong’s ‘kalabule’ and ‘fawu to beji golf’ (golf for sex) era. Kufour’s looting spree has made us missed Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Within the short time Nkrumah spent in power he built the Tema harbour, municipality, motorway, the Akosombo dam, schools and colleges, universities etc.

Kuffour’s insensitivity to the plight of ordinary workers has brought value to SSNIT flats housing schemes under JJ Rawlings. SSNIT flats were built not only in Accra but also in most regional capitals. In Accra alone we have the Adenta, Sakumo, Dansoman SSNIT flats. How a ‘man with vision’ could prioritised a building of presidential palace (Taj Mahal) over affordable housing scheme for workers and Bui Power project for our industries. This really beats the imagination. With all these so called luminaries in the party all they could boast of is such mediocrities as School Feeding Programme, NYEP, and NHIS etc.

What has got me so infuriated is the level of human suffering I witnessed in my constituency on a recent visit. Hard core foot soldiers of the party who I worked with during those difficult days are still starving. According to the few I spoke to immediately the election was won the party leaders who were always on the grounds with the foot soldiers quickly vanished to inaccessible lofts to join in the sharing of spoils of war. This began the era of 8 years of looting and property acquiring democracy (PAD) till the people of Tain said enough was enough.

Acute water shortage is one of the major problems of my constituency. At least after 8 years of NPP misrule I expected these counterfeit ‘self made men’ to fix the problem. I was so dismayed when I found out the problem has rather exacerbated. On my visit out of the 21days I spent the taps flowed three times. Each time it lasted less than 20 minutes and in trickles. It could not fill a pail let alone the overhead tank hanging above the house.

Currently some of these shameless party leaders are struggling over who will be the next best plunderer. I believe they don’t realise the harm they have done to the image of the party. I suppose this is not the type of vision great pace setters like JB Danquah, Dr Abrefa Busia etc had in mind when they laid down their lives for the tradition. These gracious pace setters will curse these thieves in their graves for bringing shame to the party. One thing the leaders could do to redeem the image of the party is to go on their knees and beg for forgiveness from the people before dreaming of going back to them for their mandate again. They should also throw their weight behind Atta Mills in his quest of cleaning the mess they left behind.

Ministers saving government loans in their individual foreign accounts and keeping the interest accrued before releasing the capital to nation's coffers. In fact, the SC is really wasting time that is why these crooks think they still stand a chance. Where on earth have you seen SC removing democratically elected president and putting in a 70 years old drug baron, greedy and arrogant man as president? You have been found out and God will punish you for wasting Ghanaian tax-payers money. Npp would surely pay for their demonic and evil plans.

What a drama in court. Addison asked Afari Djan a question about reducing of votes of Akufo Addo and increasing of votes of President Mahama at Ledzokuku constituency. There was an objection from the Respondents' lawyers. The SC by 7-2 majority overruled the objection so Addison has been given "all clear" to go ahead and ask his question. But surprisingly he withdrew the question admitting he had no issue with votes declaration in Ledzokuku.
What happened to Addison is: the SC ruling surprised him. Addison knew well his figures were wrong but he knew also that going by previous occurrences at the SC, the Respondents would object and the SC would uphold the objection. In that case, he would have achieved a pollution of mind of their gullible supporters. But he SC, in their wisdom, surprised him and overruled the objection allowing him to continue his question. Definitely, he was not prepared for this because he had known all the time that his figures were wrong hence his withdrawal of the question.
This adds so much to the credence of Dr Afari Djan. It's becoming clearer and clearer that, the NPP's petition has no basis.

The PDF format is great for sharing documents, but it can be a hassle, too. For example, have you ever received a PDF containing form data, only to find that Adobe Reader won't let you complete any of the fields?

That happens when the PDF is created without the necessary administrative rights. In other words, it's like the editing capability for that document was turned off. Sure, you can always print the PDF and fill it in by hand, but doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of an electronic document?

The solution is to use a PDF reader that allows editing even when the PDF itself does not. I recommend Foxit Reader, which, among other things, lets you add text to any PDF.

The first time you run Foxit, it'll ask if you want to make it the default PDF viewer. That's entirely up to you, but I find Foxit to be smaller, faster, and less intrusive than Adobe Reader (though it doesn't offer quite the same level of security).

To edit a PDF, start by opening it in Foxit instead of Reader. Next, click Comments, Typewriter Tools, Typewriter Tool. Now just click wherever you want to add text, then start typing. (The program offers other markup tools as well, in case you're interested.) When you're done, you can save, print, or e-mail your marked-up document.

Foxit Reader is free, but be sure to decline the Ask.com toolbar it tries to sneak in during installation. (Ironically, just last week I wrote about this kind of 'sneakware'--with Adobe

I find this attitude disgraceful and is typical of the npp.If the story of this petition come to be written,their history will point to a group whose interest is more to themselves than Ghana.

To avoid willfully deceiving the Court and possible criminality charge, anytime the petitioners with their lead counsel are caught trying to lie or deceive the Court they quickly withdraw their evidence and statements.

To avoid willfully deceiving the Court and possible criminality charge, anytime the petitioners with their lead counsel are caught trying to lie or deceive the Court they quickly withdraw their evidence and statements.
But for the owl eyes and the intelligence of the respondents' lawyers, the Court room would be lacking space to accommodate volumes of lies and deceit.
On the Judges and their 7-2 ruling against the objection raised by Tsatsu, if they intentionally ruled in favour of Addison just to fool him, knowing what he was trying to achieve; please NPP supporters to label the Judges bias towards the respondents should Tsatsu's call be upheld, then I say bravo!
But if on the other hand, they sincerely believed Addison deserved their overruling call then Tsatsu's reading of Bawumia's cross examination transcript and the reference to EC's website figures throws heavily a dent on their image.
That said, Addison's swift withdrawal of the question he put to Afari Gyan goes to cement the unshakable credibility of Ghana's own Afari Gyan and thus make it easier for the Judges to proclaim the respondents as victors of this whole Court exercise without the petitioners supporters doubting them; a blessing for the Justices in disguise.
Addison should know that in a battle involving luminaries like Tsatsu, Lithur and Ndum, forged extracts of a holy Electoral Register that has been garnished with superimposition of photographs and voters' name switching as well as cooking figures with ingredients from space does not make someone who is not chosen by God to be president a president.

The most damaging effect would be bringing a disgrace to the legal profession especially, to his own professional reputation/image and this could damage him for life. It was a damage limitation action by Addison. Better late than the late. I think those judges who voted in favour of the objection were simply intended to giving Addison a long rope. They knew his limited legal capacity as a legal practitioner and were confident he would be gently but tactically pushed to the wall by Tsatsu Tsikata when he would not be able to escape but to submit. By then it could be all over. Addison is learning on the job. Theory and practice are difference entities. It is the time when you can tell the men from the boys i.e 'amega' from 'amega hoho'

Philip Addison has resurrected claims of vote padding and vote deduction in the 2012 general elections held last December after he was given the green light to proceed by judges hearing the Presidential Election Petition.

Respondents in the Petition, raised vehement objections to attempts by the Counsel for the Petitioners Philip Addison to fall back on allegations of vote padding.

Addison in cross examining Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, witness for the second Respondent cited the allegations of vote padding in the Ledzorkuku Constituency.

He wanted the witness who was the Returning Officer in the 2012 elections to explain the discrepancies in the results on pink sheets and those declared by the EC in the Ledzorkuku Constituency.

But he was stopped in his tracks by the Respondents who alleged that the Petitioners have abandoned these specific allegations and must not go back there again.

In court Tuesday, Tsatsu Tsikata read out portions of the transcript in which Bawumia said the Petitioners have not come to court to prove allegations of official collusion, vote padding and deduction but rather allegations of over-voting among others.

Quarshie-Idun also made reference to 25th April transcripts in which Dr Bawumia under cross examination said they were not relying on the allegations of vote deduction and padding but rather relying on a third claim of constitutional and statutory infractions.

In his defense, Addison said the claims were part of their pleadings and affidavit which were clearly spelt out in their second amended petition.

Portions of this answer read that the Petitioners had received several complaints about “inexplicable differences” and “discrepancies” in constituencies like Ledzekuku and Dome-Kwabenya. They have claimed that votes garnered by the governing NDC were “illegally padded” while the opposition NPP was “unlawfully reduced”.

He said Dr.Bawumia did not have the full complement of the pink sheets during his cross examination that was why he said they are abandoning the case.

The counsel for the Petitioners said their question on Ledzorkuku is to test the credibility of the E.C’s witness Dr. Afari Gyan. He remarked that it will show that declaration of votes from this constituency was not in accord with the facts on the E.C’s pink sheet.

Tsatsu Tsikata rebutted that even if the Petitioners had pleaded to this they abandoned it.

The court after considering the arguments returned with a 7-2 ruling quashing the objection by the Respondents.
