Chronicling the events that unfolded during his incarceration, Ken Kuranchie has expressed doubt about the civilization of the country. He said: "we have no right to call ourselves civilized people.”. In his view, Ken Kuranchie, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight, explained his 10-day prison experience after being declared contemptuous of court following a publication in his newspaper, said: "Ghanaians have no right to call themselves “civilized people.”

I know he had a difficult case but his character in court shows that he had been impatient and glittery. The Supreme Court hearing was meant to show how matured the country has become as a democracy and to showcase the skills and talents of the finest legal brains the country has to offer.

Sadly it has become part comedy and part tragic. The Counsels have not in all cases acted properly. Tsatsu for asking Addison to sit down, although one can understand his frustration at Addison for even one of the Judges said the same thing to him. Lithur for being a drama queen and throwing temper tantrums at receiving another pile of dubious pink sheets.

But no one has behaved as appallingly as Addison. He is a bull carrying his own china shop around and an accident waiting for a place to happen. The hearing for him has been nothing more than mortal combat. His facial expressions and his posture all set up for combat. For counsel to make allegations of electoral fraud and to withdraw the line of questioning after the Judges have over ruled an objection is the most humiliating of circumstance. He goes on to say that "we have checked our facts" and will no longer pursue this matter. CHECKED FACTS on the 45th day of the hearing? What has his team be doing all along. Peddling falsehood and doctoring documents.
He accuses KPMG of doing a poor job because they did not charge for their services. Hitting below the belt; one judge said. When over ruled he asks if that was an unanimous decision of the bench. he accuses the EC Commissioner of causing financial loss.

Good heavens! That is the governance that we would have had under Akuffo Addo. Bellicose, accusative and nature's trouble makers.

His colleagues should sit up and take control of the proceedings before all hell breaks loose with the way Philip Addison is misbehaving.. Let`s face it, we all saw the way in which he pased his questions as though Dr. Afari Gyan was to accept all nonsense he was putting forward. He was allowed to proceed along this useless path for more than 20 minutes before Quarshie Idun finally intervened in digust to say "enough is enough"!
This patent display of arrogance and stupidity cannot be good for the image of the SC!
Against this backdrop of bufoonery, a particular Justice,has made it a habit to clamp down on the lawyers for the 2nd and 3rd respondents as though they are barred from drwaing the court`s attention to matters which are obvious those us us non-lawyers watching the hearings.
Simple up or down rulings are handed down in such a manner as to make a mockery of the entire proceedings.
Yesterday, Addison,after having asked a question with patently false figures,and having won a 7-2 majority ruling to proceed,was then allowed to withdraw that question because he had now been appraised facts that became part of official record following the EC`s declaration of the presidential results,and in fact,has been posted on the EC`s website since the 2nd week of December 2012.
Similarly, this same lawyer,Philip Addison deliberately sought to present a pink sheet that was not in evidence,so he could rebutt information the court had elicited fom the EC Chair. Aftter an objection was taken,he then coughed a confession that yes one of the pink sheets he sought to show Dr. Gyan was not in evidence; and even for the 3 that were, these did not for part of the P- series of pink sheets depicting duplicate ,triplicate and quadrupilcate serial numbers, which was the main subject of his cross-examination.
Add all the above to Justice Baffoe-Bonnie`s intervention, and can you see where Addison and his team want to go with this petition!
