Chronicling the events that unfolded during his incarceration, Ken Kuranchie has expressed doubt about the civilization of the country. He said: "we have no right to call ourselves civilized people.”. In his view, Ken Kuranchie, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight, explained his 10-day prison experience after being declared contemptuous of court following a publication in his newspaper, said: "Ghanaians have no right to call themselves “civilized people” end of quote.

What do you expect from the people with mentalities of:

A: "METIMEHU AND ALL DIE BE DIE?"
B: "SAKAWA AND SIKADURO?"
C: "XENOPHOBIC AND ETHNOCENTRISM?" etc.
D: "BURYING INNOCENT HUMAN BEINGS WITH THEIR DEAD CHIEFS" at this day and age.
E: "TWO FACE PEOPLE"...(they smile with you, at same time stabbed you at the back, especially if you are a Nigerian). Who need an enemy if you have a "typical Ghanaian" as a friend?
F: They spent most of their LAZY times ONLINE spewing all sort of 'NEGATIVITIES' against Nigerians, (AFTER STEALING THEIR MONEY AND PROPERTIES WITH THEIR "EVIL BUSIA ACO" AND VIOLENTLY DEPORTED THEM BACK TO NIGERIA). What is their PROBLEMS?
G: They all have PHD qualifications, and with their (Pull Him Down mentalities) , they cannot stand their fellow Africans, mostly Nigerians, to prosper in their land hence the jealousy about anything and everything Nigerians. Why?

Ken Kuranchie, was very right when he said that talking about 'CIVILISATION' the word: "GHANAIANS" should NEVER be mentioned at all because they are 'STONE AGE' in mentalities. Need l say more?

Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. It will not be long before we get the report? Shame on you. How long can those arrested languish in jail just because the prosecution cannot put things together? Is it not an infringement on their civil rights? Ghana has come far from the BUGABUGA RULE of the AFRC and PNDC rule where people arrested had no rights and could be detained in military custody as long as the government wants. If they have no evidence, why not release them?
Those who were accused were just scape goats because the government had to have a cause for the fires. These were people from the North who were trying to eck out a living at the South but were arrested for trump up charges. I thought the arson specialists from the USA can easily identify the cause for the arson and the government will take it from there. If government has no evidence, just acquit them.

Those victims are in jail because they needed to arresy some body/people. At least, the investigations leading to their subsequent arrests could be elaborated as a charge. However, because it was fabricated, it has become difficult to convict them. Just make the US firemen's investigative report public for all to see and read.

Why should report on market fires be secret and kept away from the public? the irony of the whole thing is that most of the affected people (victims of these fires) are market women who form an integral part of the public and who need to know what are the causes of these fires. why should the govt keep away from the public the outcomes of these investigation? why WHY WHY WHY??????? OH ndc, you are disgracing yourself too much. the incompetence is getting too much!!!! WAKE UP!!!!

They will not paint the house or re-roof for hundreds of years until there is going to be a funeral in the house. The government is even worse when it comes to inspection and maintenance

The same old electrical wires hang around. Some have not even see painting since then. After how many years should such wires be changed. Unfortunately, we look at everything from the political prism. Go to some schools and ministries and ask the last time their vehicle had tune ups or even oil change and you will be shocked. That is the nature of Ghanaian ministries and government. I don't subscribe to the arsons in this case. If we have women using LPG and Charcoal at a market place and just dumping the ember anyhow, even if it is close to incendiary materials, what do you expect? Fire. Let us see the outcome of the arson specialists from the USA and you can see how right I am.

Why are you in such a hurry to get the report? Let those charged with the responsibility take as long as necessary to come up with a proper, reproducible and credible report. The US team did say they have an interim report which requires validation. Once the validation is complete it will be made public and you can then do whatever you want to do with it. Until then leave the professionals alone to complete their job in peace. You are neither a fireman nor an arson investigator. You're a journalist whose job is to give an accurate, sometimes critical report of things that make news in the country or around the world. It's NOT your job to set the political agenda for anybody. Leave that to the politicians and go back to reporting news.

How can you keep people in cells for 3 weeks without putting them on trial? The judges should be firm with the prosecutors; if they have no evidence those in custody should be released.

As voters who put these propagandists in power we deserve respect enough to be informed about the report of the American fire experts. Why is the ndc government hiding it from us? Is it because those arrested did not do it?

There are no real arsonists in these market fires, just random acts of irresponsible citizens, who have been encouraged by governments past and present to think that they can encroach on every inch of property in Accra.

Over several years, I have openly stated that Accra is filthy, uncivilized and completely in shambles, and the only way it can be revived, developed and sustained, is for it to be burnt down to the ground.
Basically I was implying that it needs to be cleared completely and re-planed. In any case I am happy that good riddance has taken root of the direct players in this degenerate part of society.

We don't need to investigate a darn thing, we simply need to give these lazy people an ultimatum to vacate the premises for re-development. Government is not suppose to create jobs for every single soul on the Ghanaian terrain. If all these strong able-bodied villagers aren't lazy, they should encourage government to start massive road constructions and covering of sewage systems all across the country, and the unemployment will cease instantly. But I promise you majority of these people do not want real jobs with real incomes. They just want to wake up whenever during the day, laden themselves with goods to sell to ignorant motorists who are compelled by instinct to eat eat eat and drink drink drink from the moment they leave their homes till they get back home. I have seen many of these street hawkers close up, and I swear, God can be wicked sometimes. Some look like the contours of feces just allow to grow in size. If you can't nourish and care for children don't have any. Even animals in the wild have greater nourishing instincts than some of our fellow citizens. Lactation, protection and generational survival is primal. You don't make babies because you want a farm hand or an infant to train to carry your load and burdens.

These are the creatures of the market places that have gone ablaze, it is not some diabolical arsonists from any ethnic or political following.

How many people know how to use fire extinguishers? Thirdly, the fire fighters don't have modern training in fire fighting. People are recruited to fire service just to serve the party of the day.Lastly, the so called pastors are alarming the public with their so called prophecies instead of hitting the right nail in the head. There are confusing the masses. Ghanaians and Africans need to understand the importance of modern infrastructure and how to maintain them to keep services functioning. The market system is so cluster fustered that there is no human mobility. Hence , one cigarette lighter can cause a massive fire. Over all Ghana's government is not a functioning government.

My speculation is that, "giving and taking bribe" syndrome in Ghana is so prevalent that nothing can be done due diligently to getting the actual results needed. Cocaine turned into baking powder is one example and I can give many instances.

These poor arsonists may have sponsors who have the money. The law enforcement officers are needy persons too. Paint the picture.
