The point really is that the Miss Ghana contest stupidly follows European regulations which have very little to do with beauty - at least what we here in this part of the world perceive of as beauty. Have you seen some of those white women are beauty Queens and popular models of their respective countries? The very sight of them would put you off food for a whole week. Sometimes one wonders whether they could have been nurtured in some of Adolph Hitler's concentration camps. You can use some of them as biology lab specimen to teach human bone structure.

Until we get leaders who can make a point about the importance of retaining our African values, I guess we have stick to these scrawny types as specimen of beauty.

Guiseppine (Italian for Josephine) is a first name, so it is wrong to call the winner Baafi Guiseppine. With this construct, every one thinks she has Italian last name, which is not the case. She has a Ghanain last name and an Italian first name, probably because she was born in Italy.

Journalism is not about being able to compose and write in a particular language, but also requires mastering basic conventions.
