It is also important that we are informed about who owns a company with a name like "BETTER GHANA MANAGEMENT SERVICES". The obvious intent to gain advantage and to defraud the state by a company set up with a name that corresponds with the campaign slogan of the ruling govt is obvious. This kind of silly nonsense, in spite of all the bad international cynicism that we suffer from it, only makes us Africans look so third world, increasingly stupid and more backward.

Is it not strange that with all the funny business going on concerning this Agambire boy in particular, the President has never seen it fit to mention anything about him or his dubious businesses.

And by the way, how far has he got with his latest pranks - of offering to dig free boreholes for every constituency in the country and buying off the moral principles of the Private Newspapers Association?

And, don't forget, most of the intellectuals in Ghana with Masters and/or PhDs acquired those higher degrees from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, Netherlands! Are those degrees also useless? It does appear to me that you have some 'sour grapes' and 'scores' to settle with Ghanaian Universities. Otherwise, your persistent attacks lack merit. What is your qualification and what have you achieved to buttress your daily attacks which appear on almost every issue raised on ghanaweb?

Ghanaians are doing well elsewhere because they have no option, after all, yes sir master no spoil work. More so, the average Ghanaian is good and nothing else. Could you believe that in Nigeria, the best basic schools are owned by private individuals and the average Nigerian will not send the child to any school where there is no Ghanaian teacher? It will interest you to know that most of these teachers only hold the MSLC yet they are performing. In Ghana today most of these people have been chased out of the classroom and been replaced with UCC Diploma graduates who are not performing. Look the colonial masters refused to use the university graduates in their administration but rather relied on well trained career persons and what was the end result? They achieved a huge success. Nkrumah also used the same method and also achieved a lot. Then from 1969 onwards Prof Busia sacked 568 of these hardworking personnel and replaced them with university graduates. Since then Ghana has known no progress and this is the cause of my anger. You see, I don't envy the universities because I am not a scholar but my pain is why can't our university graduates who are currently colonizing us not capable of establishing workable systems and standards to redeem us from the shackles of misery. This is how far our useless university education has brought us.

Come on wake wake up and stop being so lethargic and backward in thought.

One expects that university graduates are collectively seen to be visibly contributing the knowledge of what they learnt in their studies for the general advancement of society. But so far look at us and at them and around us. We cannot even manage the most basic necessities of any modern society - water, electricity and sanitation.

It is definitely not true that there are a lot of Ghanaian graduates doing wonders abroad. There may be a few here and there, I agree. It is also not true that most intellectuals with Masters in Ghana got these from foreign universities.

You are a prime example of a Ghanaian university graduate. Somebody expresses his/her indignation at the palpable lack of development all around us and points to the inability of those who we have invested good money to change things around for the better and you, who apparently is(?) happy with the sordid conditions in which we live in, come out in defense of our backwardness. You describe this outcry against our deplorable conditions as 'sour grapes'? Shame on you. It is evident that you can read and write but I am sorry, you went to school for nothing.

You are a symptom of one of the many reasons that Africa unashamedly remains a backward mess because some of you unfortunate beings prefer to remain backward as it allows for you to continue to be irresponsible and lazy.

I am a degree holder myself and I am certainly not happy, to say the least, about the conditions in which we live as Ghanaians, Africans and human beings. It is so bad that we are considered to be as useless as animals by some other races of people with whom we have virtually the same biological features.

Yes I agree that the the problem is also partly due to bad leadership but Rans F, are our leaders also not qualified university graduates? Just look at them - all of them, and their ineptitude. One would think that they had never entered a university before.

Rans F wake up its late in the day. Is your water running today? Is your electricity on? Almost a good 60% of Ghanaians do not have the most basic human need - toilets in their own houses do you have one in your house? Have you by any chance noticed the many other bad and unacceptable conditions and services which stare at us in the face every day and annoy us, every week, every month and year in year out?

Rans F, the first indication that one is well and truly educated is when one decides first of all to confront the shortcomings in his/her society or environment. The next step is to find solutions to those problems. You in your benign ignorance, have decided that we dont have a problem at all. That being the case, you are a problem for those of us who are not happy about the bad common conditions of life in our country.

The gentleman, Usman, who was complaining about us Ghanaian graduates, is truly educated. You are definitely not. Have a good day.

For you informatiuon most government and quasi-gov't institutiopns no longer employ even SHS gradutes. hnd holders, when recruited are placed at lower levels od the organizational ladder and would have to stay there for donkey years before they see promortion to the next miserable grade. Meanwhile Ist Degree holders are placed in Senior positions where many of them cannot function.

In the face of all this fraud, graft, pilfering and looting of the national purse by the NDC gov't headed by the Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur team, who are those who voted for the thieving of our resources with such impunity by this NDC gov't?
The President and his team are now reluctant to even make the report public, citing the issue of giving them time to study the report. It was only just a few weeks ago that, the gov't trumpeted from the roof tops that it had sent the RTI bill to parliament, seeking to suggest that, they believe in the citizenry gaining access to unfettered information. It is in the light of this make believe that, the report should be made public as soon as possible and the culprits in the seat of gov't who have been implicated in the report right from the seat of gov't are made to face the music. Further delay in the release of the report would lend credence to the news making rounds that, there was official complicity in these fraudulent contracts and the siphoning of funds from the national purse, for which the NDC team headed by John Mahama is trying to cover up.
Corruption, stealing and damn right pillaging of the national kitty by the Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration is now everywhere. There's no sector that has been spared by the itchy fingers of this NDC administration headed by John Mahama. The corruption, looting, pilfering and sharing of the spoils has now gone overboard and this is surely not what Ghanaians voted for.

Corruption is in the DNA of the average Ghanaian. It is traceable to the deep recesses of our culture. Our culture values wealth more than a good name or accomplishments in fields of human endeavour. In the Akan areas, anyone with a semblance of wealth is referred to as 'Nana'. This, in my opinion, is why public officials and citizens steal from the state, their employers or dupe each other.

How can we rectify the problem? First, cultural reorientation. Our youths and society at large must be educated that wealth is not everything, and if you want to find solace in wealth, work for it. Second, stringent punishment for corruption. Those found guilty in a court of law for misappropriating state funds for personal gain must be visited with the severest marks of displeasure, including death by hanging or life behind bars. Third, there is the problem of our fragile public institutions with no built in checks and balances. Quangos (quasi-autonomous non-governmental organisations)to which government has devolved power and resources for development must be equipped to detect corruption. Fourth, managers both middle and senior, must be trained in anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices.

Ghana is sinking down the abyss, plagued by visionless leadership mediocrity, incompetence and corruption.

We need a revolution and soon.
