NDC as a party reaps where they have not sown. Just as they did in the middle of the night to change the name of the Golden Jubilee House to Flagstaff House, a building they spent so much time to pooh pooh on, they are repeating the same here. Listening to Madam Theodosia Okoh at myjoyonline is heartbreaking, what they have done to her. It was through her own initiative that led her to acquire the land legitimately from the Colonial to Nkrumah governments, which until then was nothing more than muddy swampy plot of land, and developed it to become a hockey pitch, and to which subsequent governments tagged on to become the national hockey pitch. She said when she started to develop the pitch Atta Mess was in Class 3. How can one take her project and name it after somebody else, she wondered aloud? Sounds familiar? Think of Golden Jubilee House.

To think this same woman is also the designer of our national flag that invokes such pride in all of us, I wonder whether the yomo hair dye that Okoh Vanderpuiye uses excessively has percolated down to his brain matter. Or else how could he have come to such a disgraceful end? What at all is wrong with this propagandist NDC party folks huh? Don't tell me AMA is not NDC, 30% of the members, plus the mayor himself were not elected, they were imposed directly by John Mahama.

Imagine changing Baba Yara Stadium to something else. We just lose the real history behind the naming just like in Madam Okoh's case; I did not know she was instrumental in promoting the game of hockey in Ghana even though I have no interest in the game. Can't we find a new sports related item like naming a hockey league or competition in Pres. Mills honor rather than wiping off Madam Okoh's name?

Madam Theodosia Okoh deserved to have the field named after her based on her contributions to the sport of hockey. Can’t the Accra Mayor find any building to name after Mills, rather than choosing to name the hockey field after him? Besides, what is the justification for naming the field after him anyway? Naming of sports edifices should be reserved for former sports men and women.

Madam Theodosia Okoh is a VERY important person in the independence of Ghana and she must be HONORED, over and over again, and given a state burial when the time comes- I mean this woman's creativity is displayed in form of the flag of Ghana everywhere one looks for it in Ghana- the number one symbol of pride, patriotism and solidarity by Ghanaians worldwide.. She should even be on the Council of Elders, and not being left to waste away..

It is a shame that Madam Okoh has to come on radio in her old age to oppose this- this is INSANE behavior!

LEAVE HER LEGACY ALONE- IF ANYTHING AT ALL, MORE STRUCTURES SHOULD BE NAMED IN THIS NOBLE WOMAN'S NAME!
