Current and past Presidents, ministers of state, businessmen, men of God, grass-roots politicians etc have all weathered the storm of bad press in this country. It is an unfortunate aspect of being a public figure. What therefore is it that makes Akosa feel so special that when others simply oppose his views, he goes into a fit of temper and like a small child, he says 'he wont play again'? Nonsense.

Now even though I agree with the substance of the medical recommendations for Heads of State that Akosa has expressed above, his generally abusive and vindictive outbursts against fellow politicians via the media, casts him as a vile, self-important and intolerant character whose declared withdrawal from media activities, as stated above, can only be welcomed with the reception, 'GOOD RIDDANCE'!

When you have a gov't team which can say that demanding answers to critical questions which can lead to an improvement of processes to protect not just any life, but the life of a sitting President, as "necrophilic", then I dare to say that, we have a very major, major problem.
The death of the late President should be blamed firmly and squarely on the very NDC team of which he was the leader, because of the great extent to which the gov't went to hide and deny his affliction and also, the late President's lack of judgment, when it mattered most. And in the instance when it mattered most, there was absolutely nothing to ensure that he survived the heart attack that he was supposed to have suffered. Those are the issues Ghanaians are demanding that they are investigated and the right and proper things are doing. From this calamity, there is a very profound opportunity for the NDC gov't headed by John Mahama to at least leave a legacy with respect to emergency health delivery but what have we seen? The brain dead team cannot even figure out what needs to be done, let alone act. It is understandable since it is being alleged in some circles that, it was a deliberate maneuver all geared towards consolidating their political fortunes, and so making such calls problematic for the gov't. Once again political expediency triumphs over commonsense and better judgment.

Whether you like it or not, the late presidents health and death is a national issue, afterall it was our taxes that was used to setup the asomudwe park where he is buried, it was our taxes that was used to send him to the US for expensive medical trips but when we want to know the circumstances under which he died we are told not to ask. What sort of madness is this? Yes everybody will die but that does not mean we should not take measures to prevent avoidable deaths in future. This reasoning of everything being seeing under political lens is seriously holding us back as a country. Whether he waited for a day or a year the most important thing is that he is asking very important questions. Better late than never. We can't continue like this. Lets do the right thing and put this speculation to bed for once or else accusations will hang around the neck of top NDC officials for years to come and that is not fair.

If the prof akosa is asking about the cause and incedents leading to the prez's death, I think it's call in the right direction. this is no politics in my humble opinion.

Now you are asking the prof to fight for families whose dear ones die through the negligence of health profesional; I think it's out of ignorance that we dont take up such issues to the appropriate levels.Look, Michael Jackson dies and the family took it up because they suspected foul play. Was it prof akosa who led the legal team???? Fo Christ sake prez mills was a prez and the prez of ghana whose health bills are borne by the tax payer, so every ghanaian needs to know the cause of his death so we can put preventive actions in place to avoid recurrence. It is becominh typical of Ghanaian failed technocrats, to condemn current systems in an attempt to cover their incompetent when they were running the show. For them to cover their incompetence they have taken cover under partisan politics, and use any national issue as an opportunity to score political marks. As Ghanaians we should be careful of such holier than thou partisan technocrats.

The question we should ask professor Akosa is: During his tenure as Director of Medical Services, how many Ambulances did he acquire? How many paramedic vehicles were trained and how many paramedics trucks were purchased? What advise did he give to the Castle as a Director of Medical Service for the establishment of an abulance/paramedic facility in the presidency?

We have seen Prof. Ameyaw Ekumfi once a Director of Education under who engineered the changes in our school system where the Standard Seven (the six years primary and four years middle school basic education) was change to the six years primary and three years JSS; and the five years O'Level and the two years A'Level (seven years High School) was changed to three years SSS, critize the JHS and the SSS systems when he joined the opposition NPP party.

Prof. Akosa and Prof. Ekumfi should know that their opponents have failed because of the weak or non existing foundations they laid when they headed the very institutions they criticize today. They cannot hide behind partisan politicking, jumping from one meadia to another criticizing the very systems they cripple in an attempt to suggest that they would do better is they are given the chance. They failed when they held the position and they should zip it up.

We thank God Prof. Akosa has opted to zip it up.

The death of President Mills, as a result, continues to be shrouded in deep and confusing mystery.

I really cannot understand our 'professionals' and 'intellectuals'. Whay are they not proactive about matters on which they claim to be experts and why is it that they dont have sizable balls between their legs to stand up to the nonsense of politicians?

If all 'professionals' and 'intellectuals' in this country would wake up to their responsibilities instead of kowtowing to the perfidy of politicians or choosing to remain unprofessional, this country can make some progress, with or without those damned politicians.

But I though he was a thick skin politician the way he way he brags as a senior pathologist and politician? Yes he is right. the country needs answers to his queries. There are too many people in this country who do not know that they do not know so there is little you can do to help them. Don't let it discourage you, continue to do the good work. A lot of us have ears to hear you. You said it too well about our ambulance system. If it could happen to the president, then imagine what we ordinary people go through every day. God help us all.
