When Ghanaians pleaded with the govt to consider its intention to revert to the 3-year system, did the inept NDC govt heed to the pleas of Ghanaians ?

They thought they were sticking it out to Kufour, now we see the people they really hurt. No other government in Ghana's history has been so useless and short-sighted than this current NDC propaganda government.

Why would they care, even idiots like Asiedu Nketia can afford to send their kids to schools here in Canada, while our kith and kin perish in Ghana. The future of some of our little brothers and sisters is now screwed forever by this useless NDC gov't. They have just planted the seeds of future armed robbers, drug dealers, dog chains and broniwawu sellers, and prostitutes as many of these kids will become, because of the misdeeds of a useless, visionless, and incompetent NDC government. Cry for the beloved country Ama Ghana. All that they know is to rename things they did not create or build.

Absolute nonsense, and to add salt to injury the private universities that will help are also now to pay tax which will obviously be transferred to the students to pay more. But we Ghanaians must blame ourselves, we see such useless loud mouth people in the NDC, they just lie and insult to look for power and yet you get about 50% of Ghanaians voting for them.

For a person like Prof. Naana Agyemang to accept to be an education Minister under Mahama,to push such a bad education policy put in place by the Late Atta the 'Mortuary man' goes a long way to tell you that, we have educated illiterates in Ghana, and in NDC. Where does the Minister think the University will put the additional students, what classrooms and which hostel. How will the lecturers cope and what benefit will it be to all the students. Has she heard about student lecture ratio. This is professorship gone mad. Now I feel confident to say it does not matter whether we are lead by educated or stark illeterate politicians. This woman assumed office at the beginning of the year knowing far too well from her own recent expereince as a VC that our university intake is on the verge of a crisis and she has not even bothered to meet with her colleague VCs direclty to map out a strategy for coping with the problem. What do the public universities require from government to cope. Obviously she has no clue so she sneaks in an appeal at the congregation of UG her in Accra as if all the VCs are there listten to her nonsense. I have a son who has taken the WASSCE and like all other parents I hold the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur maladmnistration eternal responsible but as for this Ex-VC and her colleague Old Tetteh-Enyo, aslo Ex-GES, I hold their follies and incompetencies directly responsible. They will go down in the history of Ghana education as unmitigated disasters in leadership and problem solving and structured thinking. Never trust a book by its cover, nor a degree holder by their degree.

How on earth did you expect that two cohorts of students could be admitted in the same year when over the years, we have failed to admit all who qualify for the University.

I expect that you would have helped to rectify the problem that has been created by the real politicians who have decided to tinker with our education. In this regard, both NPP and NDC are guilty.

The first mistake after our politicians could not decide on 3 years or 4 years SSS education was to let both sets of SS students (3yrs and 4yrs) take the same examination. Whatever informed this decision can only be explained by the lack of foresight of our "kakra ye be di nti" politicians both both sides of the divide.

The second is the decision that does not allow the 3 years cohort to wait one year.

For your information, the Universities are full, to the brim. You should know because not too long ago you were the head of the Ivory towers. Any time you pro water into a cup which is already full, what happens.

We have totally destroyed our educational system. Fortunately for some of you politicians, you will send you wards abroad with our stolen money so they can have a better eduction.

I cry for the future of our children and for the future of the country Ghana. God has blessed us with so much, unfortunately we have been too daft and spend too much time bickering amongst ourselves that we have not been able to see our blessing. Now I can only say may God have pity on us.

The issue of the lack of capacity in our public universities to both admit and accommodate students has been on-going for so long it defies imagination. The best that Kuffour and his government could do was to extend SHS to 4 years. They chose to dress up the wounds instead of laying the foundation for a total cure. The total cure is so simple I cant begin to fathom why it hasn't been done. what is the cure?? expand the public universities. Have a University of Ghana, TAkoradi campus, Ho campus, Sunyani campus and so forth. do the same for KNUST. sure it will take time but that is the way you solve it once and for all.

And when you assumed the position of Minister what did you do to arrest the situation until now? This is my humble suggestion, Madam minister: Bring together, as soon as possible, all educational gurus in Ghana and abroad for national confidential meeting on this matter. I promise you that after the meeting ill-temper, frustration, agitation, mistrust, disrespect, uncertainties, shall all be minimized for the better and tranquility shall prevail in our educational system.

Was there not a meeting between the Ministry of Education and the tertiary institutions to discuss this looming problem?

We would ask the minister to set up a task force immediately to come up with short, medium and long-term solutions to the problem created by the two student cohorts writing the SSSCE simultaneously.

The problem was started by the Kufuor admin extending SSS to 4 years without providing the additional teachers and facilities required for the added year. The incoming NDC admin was saddled with the problem of providing for the extra students in SSS. Interim measures were put in place, but it was decided that it would be best to revert to 3 years as the public purse could not provide for a 4-year SSS.

This then created the problem we now have of two cohorts sitting SSSCE simultaneously.

Ad hoc planning and lack of vision has led to this debacle.

The authorities must find a solution now!
