So why is Mahama so involved with this project at the expense of very necessary and more important projects like hospitals and other pressing infrastructural projects? Because with this project Mahama can quickly and easily take his 10% cut without notice. Other than that I don't see the prioritisation of this particular project.
He also want to honour Mills and his sympathisers to dissuading from thinking about the circumstances leading to the president's death. This is typical NDC tradition and their machinations.
It is up to Sam Mills to either take the matter (investigation into the circumstances leading to his father's death) up or let it die.

Its sad to see the P/NDC and their President John Mahama treating the people of Cape Coast in such lowly contempt. A land of civilisation: the citadel of education that gave birth to John Mensah Sarbah, Rev. Attoh Ahuma, George Kuntu Blankson, Gaddiel Acquah, Kwesi Brew,Ewuaraba Afua, Philip Quaque, Mercer Ricketts and many, many men and women of valour... These people will turn in their graves to hear this man from Northern Ghana and his retinue of politicians from remote villages once again insulting our intelligence with such vain promises:

We collectively ask: when will this Library finish...and is this a priority of the much suffering Cape Coasters? What have we done to Ghana to merit such insult and mistreatment from its Politicians; after what we have done to provide many citizens with such good education in our quality schools, polytechnics and University?

In all these Cape Coast schools there are massive Library Buildings, but no modern good books and educational resources for students to learn. All the books are very old edition stretching from the 1950s.
A Library in a small town in any developed country will have better stock of books than what we have in our big schools in Ghana!

Cape Coast has a Central Library still stuffed with books I read in the 1960s. Christine Churcher nearly completed a new Library in Aboom, which Ebo Barton Oduro promised to complete but zilch! He wants to convert it to NDC headquarters!

Go to University of Cape Coast: In the old Library which looked like a Warehouse it was stuffed with good books but then we heard new contemporary books will be placed in the new Library being constructed: It took almost 20 years to complete the new UCC Library but when I returned to it I was benumbed by its structure and contents: There was no ventilation and 98% of the BOOKS were very old. It was not fit to be a modern library...there was so much uneasiness due to the heat, dirt, dust, poor furnishing and complete lack of contemporary books and computers...

The Northerner friend of Mahama he appointed as UCC Vice Chancellor says he will be involved in the new library project when his own one in the University of Cape Coast is crying for a revamp.

I once went to a Library in a London University: the building looked small but it was stocked with modern books and computer resources with knowledgeable staff to help the reader as well as comfortable cubicles to read and write. A library is not the structure but the contents. All the money earmarked for their thieving associate contractors to build a 'new Library' can be used to buy new modern books for existing Libraries in Adisadel College, Wesley Girls High School, Holy Child School, Ghana National, Mfantsipim, Aggrey, Augustine and the Polytechnics. They can then buy a lot of Children Books, Animations, Computer resources, and train Librarians to run the old Cape Coast Library near the Methodist Church.

The libraries in Ghana's Universities like those of UST, UCC and Balme Library in Legon and those of other Institutions of learning in Ghana need books, books and more books:
I know NDC wish we have an illiterate, ignorant, uneducated and indolent mass of voters to propel them to the everlasting power they covet by hook or crook but for the general good of this country, we need salvation on earth that can come solely from education. Look at what Education has done for so many Ghanaians living abroad and working as doctors and teachers and lawyers and many other high ranking professions: How can the future breed such type of people: We are storing trouble for the next generation by the lies and more lies spewed forth by these NDC people...and this John Mahama is becoming one of the most deceitful politicians I have ever come across in Africa. He makes promises, especially to Cape Coasters as if we are some low class people. Can he sincerely build a Library in Cape Coast in his own lifetime, let alone his period of office? And do we need one now, when we need jobs for the many unemployed people in the town of beautiful nonsense. It's Books that make a library and not the building.

John Mahama paraded some tiny Chinese and promised Cape Coasters at our Afahye Festival that he was going to build us a market; many poor market women were displaced to 'London Bridge' and other areas but the project has come to an end. The Kotokuraba Market is hundred meters away from the Family House of Kwesi Amissah Arthur, but does he care? He also said funds were ready to construct the Sports Stadium, and what is the state of it? I thought he was going to construct a Library in the Tarkwa building Atta Mills grew up in, and where has that project reached today?

But why Library in Cape Coast when we need economic projects: Don't we also deserve similar projects as those being invested in Northern Ghana?

Cape Coast has given up its mass acreage of lands to educate many Ghanaians from all the regions; but has never got anything worthwhile in return. We are so unlucky as a people to have a Chief who openly supports NDC because he has being rehoused in the old PWD building. We lack respect of Ghanaians despite what we have done for all these people from deepest recesses of Villages in Ghana.

Who says we need a Library in Cape Coast when we have a lot already: if tourists want a library, one can be created in the Cape Coast Castle: There is space to do so if we are committed to relive our much trumpeted history.

In 2008 elections, NDC people said they were going to set up a Coca Cola factory to create employment in the town for its teeming poor youth but nothing has been done about it whiles NDC leaders in the town share construction projects amongst themselves to reap its material benefits.

We gave so much to Ghana and received very little in return: We stood in front of the resistance against Slavery, Colonialism and Imperialism only to be repaid with such lowly contempt: Our mothers have fed these students in Cape Coast Schools and Colleges for very low wages but they go into political power and turn their backs on us, as they mock and insult us. They are aided by the most corrupt families from the town, who openly bribe poor people at elections to vote for them. Cape Coast is in the hands of selfish greedy politicians who only care about money to build mansions and buy cars. The land of great men and women are now a filthy sandbag. The last Housing Project was in Ola built by Busia's Government, whiles Northerners and Ewes get everything and tramp on our liberties as if we are scroungers.

But nothing lasts forever. One day the real Cape Coasters will say enough is enough and lock out everyone in the schools, our children do not even get admissions to learn to earn qualifications to better the lot of their poor people.

John Mahama must be truthful as a President of a noble country of Ghana: He cannot build any Library for Cape Coasters. He must build the Market and restore the displaced traders; he must build the Stadium as promised and invest in a similar Asontagba project he is doing all over Northern and Volta Regions of Ghana!

Our beloved Cape Coast faces despair, degeneration and decline under this NDC Government...God Bless Oguaaman!

The government has NO BUSINESS, building a memorial library for the late Mills.Those who made it big under his administration should come together and put up the money for such a construction.That's what is done in the most advanced countries.
The best way to honor President Mills is to provide basic necessities like good drinking water and electricity to the people of Oguaa.Use the money to construct sewerage and drainage systems so people can connect toilets to their homes and have water to bath.Building memorial libraries and twenty foot statues are of NO USE to the suffering masses who have to worry about how they can have water and electricity daily.These greedy politicians really have to go.Fellow Ghanaians should and must take the cue from our brethren from Egypt.We really do.Our leaders are taking us for granted and are getting away with it because they know WE ARE A BUNCH OF ZOMBIES WHO'LL RATHER PRAY ALL YEAR ROUND THAN TAKE ACTION FOR CHANGE.WHAT A FREAKING SHAME!!!
