Having such promptings and commands from God, what further can I tell you? Am I more powerful than He? Am I more worthy of confidence? But if you observe these, do you want any others besides? "Well, but he has not given these orders," you will say. Apply your best thoughts. Apply the proofs of philosophers. Apply the good things you have heard. Apply even the good things you have said yourself. Apply what you have read. Apply what you have meditated on (and you will then see that all these things are from God).
Indeed, God gave each of us a brain. He gave us each a mind, a soul and a heart. Did he give us these things so that we might go about blindly? No, Epictetus tells us God gave us Science and Philosophy for a reason. He gave us these things so that we might make informed judgments with regard to our actions. That is one reason why study of the Bible, Philosophy and Science are important.
Perhaps the greatest scientist who ever lived was Sir Isaac Newton. He believed that the study of science was the study of the "mind of God". He was a fundamentalist Christian. It is not well known that he wrote more about religion than he did mathematics, optics, astronomy, etcetera. He pursued so vigorously ideas about gravity and calculus because he believed it was the will of God that we should understand these things, and in understanding them also be able to make right decisions.

The Earth continues to revolve round the Sun, and so do all the other planets. Homo-sapiens continue to give birth to homo sapiens and so do Cats continue to give birth to Cats. Technology, medical science, astrology and the host of the disciplines have all greatly advanced, but all the planets continue to revolve around the Sun. The spermatozoa of Man fertilizes the eggs of women to continue procreation. If you want to do something different from the NORM and you are actually sure it is ok with you, go ahead but mind you, the consequences are squarely yours to bear. God cannot be mocked.

This is someones interpretation of the Book of Proverbs. Think about these and see how you relate to them.

Proverbs is a collection of sayings, primarily about wisdom. Man's wisdom and God's wisdom. Who's wisdom to do you trust more?[Bible Quotes are From The NLT - New Living Translation]

Long and the short of it; this is the stuff that works.

Not wisdom. Not discipline.

But ... God put a brain in our heads for a reason. So we can think, and learn, and teach. So we can understand and do what is right, just and fair. So we can have insight and discernment. So our lives will be ordered, productive and we can sometimes make wise choices.

Solomon was known for his wisdom, after all, it was his trademark. His calling card; The Wisdom of Solomon.
God was very pleased with Solomon for asking for it as we read from 1 Kings Chapter 3.5b God said, "What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!"
[Solomon replied] 9 Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?"
10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom. 11 So God replied, "Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people with justice and have not asked for a long life or wealth or the death of your enemies-12 I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have!
These first few verses of Proverbs instruct us not to put wisdom before God because that would be a dreadful mistake. But only fool ignores it. It is a gift FROM God if we ask for it. Why would God give us the ability to acquire knowledge and wisdom if we are to disregard it?...

You should check your history. Galileo was nearly excommunicated by Catholic church for saying that the earth goes round the sun. So things have changed. It is not homosexuality that is the colonial import, it's the laws against it, made by 19th century Europeans desperate to find another excuse for persecuting people, because that's what they enjoy doing. Before that, nobody cared; let's get back to that, and make Ghana into a forward-looking country, leading all Africa.
