These rumours and counter rumours have been going on for longer than anybody can remember. If this MCE is not fit for the post, the government must do something about it immediately. And if he is fit for the post, the government must likewise come out and confirm him. The dilly-dalying is not helping the municipality since the man, not sure of his safety, may be spending his time sorting out his future rather than pursuing the interests of the people, and the people, not happy with his performance so far, may not be giving him the cooperation he needs to succeed in his post. Please, Mr President, bail us out immediately before matters get out of control.
