Where was it said that the money for the building of Kotokuraba market is the that which will be used for the Atta Mills' Library. I think if the author of this piece listens very well, he would have understood that the said library is a research institute as well. Cape Coast is the educational hub of Ghana and if a research library is not built here, then where else can we build a research library in Ghana? Reporters should due diligence before reporting on issues of course a kotokuraba market woman may not necessarily see the need for a research library yet it does not stop government from building it because it may benefit that same woman's child or grandchild.

Still, it is sad that 2 older libraries have been "left to rot". Perhaps Ghana should prioritize taking care of its existing roads, schools etc before commencing building new ones.

This piece is just one of the very refractive arguments that some detractors will want to out there to confuse the uninitiated inds. let it be put on record that the Atta Mills Library is not being put up by the government. It is being undertaken by Airtel, a telephony company which has adopted same as part of its social responsibilities. Secondly, the Library is not just an ordinary library where persons will just go and sit down there to read or borrow books to go and read. It s a research Library which is attached to the University of Cape Coast. Let those dunces get it straight into their heads. The other libraries in the metropolis are not affiliated to any institution and that should tell these detractors the special nature of the Atta Mills Library. One at times asks whether some of these folks take us for fools. in one breadth they complain why the Library was not put up immediately after the President's passing so that it could be inaugurated at his one year anniversary of his death. Interesting, isn't it? Now we have this spineless newspaper which thinks it must anounce its presence with these stupid pieces. Tweaa.

A research library is not the same as children's library, besides it was clear as to who was sponsoring that project. I think Mr Kwame Piani said that at the inauguration.

Mahama has NEVER HONOURED ANY PROMISE HE MADE. He said he will use ICT for this, ICT for that, but now that he is power we don't even see ICT any anything he does. Even he can't use ICT to monitor his corrupt and fraudulent NDC thugs.
As a leaders you have to listen to your followers, but all Mahama is doing is that he is ignoring his followers on his egoistic belief that whoever is worried can continue worrying, he cares no hoot.
He is using Ghana's wealth on his sympathisers and the NDC party.
The market and the stadium if well-managed will enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of the local community than the Library which is just to honour someone who initiated the mess Ghana is in now.

The man takes a look through the scope, and starts laughing.

"What's so funny?" asks the clerk.

Atta Mills comes from Ekumfi Otuam,not Cape Coast.I believe a memorial in his honour should have been an opportunity to raise the fortunes of his birth place.
Since he battled cancer for years and in the absence of a purpose-built national cancer research and treatment facility in the country,it would be worth considering a relocation and refocusing of the Cape Coast research centre to Otuam and the mission changed to cancer research and treatment.
Siting such facility at Otuam will open the place up to the hospitality, tourism, real estate, education , commercial and incidental service providers and provide employment for the inhabitants and the general population.
For the kind of research envisaged by the promoters of the memorial at Cape Coast, many such facilities are available and are largely under utilized.
The foundation can raise funds and with the support of the state offer subsidised treatment for the indigent who have to receive treatment at the centre.

Representatives are sales representatives for the region’s with responsibility to sell the region’s interest to the national government. If they cannot do what the people would want to happen, within reason, then fight like hell to get them out of power. Do not blame the central government in Accra.
