Had Accra sports stadium been named Baba Yara Stadium, I can assure you, there would have never been a fuss. Everybody in Ghana hates Ashantis, especially fellow Akans (like Kwahus, Fantis, Brongs, Akwapims, etc.)

Truth is everybody loved Ohene Djan ans respectfully he deserves a monument in his name, but the attitude of the Gas was borne out of the way Akans stampeded, ravaged and insulted the intelligence of Gas right here in their homeland. They are warm and receptive to a fault, but never fools till the end, that is why of late there has emerged a New Ga Attitude. It is also in line with these ignoramus migrating to Accra, claiming they can't speak and won't speak Ga, but expect these Gas who haven't even traveled beyond Nsawam to speak Twi - this is stupidly ignorant and an affront to their own intelligence. Have you asked yourself why multinational organisations prefer people with experience working in similar multinational companies? It's all about cultural awareness. One cap does not fit all. You can't carry American experience and apply it in whole to a Ghanaian environment without tweaking it to fit the Ghanaian culture and level of awareness. You will fail if you tried. I doubt your Prof status because i don't expect this level of reasoning to be coming from a professor.

Naturally in my own opinion Vanderpuije never had any bad mind towards Madam Okoh, nor his action is of the angle of power drunk, but what I saw and understood is that he, Vanderpuije mistakingly looked at one side, that is the death of his master Atta Mills whom he loved so much that, it never occured to him that even though the ex president was in love with hockey, the park had already been renamed after somebody, Madam Okoh.

The major problem that is destroying the Ghanaians' political lives is ANGER, HATRED, and FOOLISH PARTY MINDEDNESS which drive them, therefore any little thing that by mistake happens, they all quickly give way to Anger and hatred, tribalism and turn the whole nation into sadness for days, weeks and months if not years while people are abusing each other in different ways. This evil spirit of ANGER and HATRED is what make them not to understand themselves and always blame each other and derive joy whenever one falls into temptation, just like the situation Okoe Vanderpuije finds himself. I have known him and never find him to be power drunk, he is a hard working person, and even considering the good efforts he made to transform the PRIMARY/JHS schools from the shift system to a normal way of schooling in most of the schools in the Greater Accra Region. He lobbied for the building of more classrom blocks for the schools mentioned above but what generally we do not have to forget is once a time life proves us to understand that the only one who makes no mistake is God, and thus it is a pity things have been taken up to this level that Akomea could describe the mayor as power drunk. What a hell of statement!!.

Akomea thinks when one has access to the media means he/she is a good analyst in every area of discussions. Ghana is sick that is why there are no bold, genuine and honest analysts to help steer our nation when an issue arises and common sense decision is needed to help move our loving nation forward. Ghanaians have schooled and have degrees but common sense over petty situations have escaped them b'cos of their stupidity and the spirit of PRIDE.

About the Accra sports stadium issue that Akomea tried to accuse the mayor and I quote '' he [Akomea] stated that if the Accra mayor had been cautioned for reverting the Ohene Djan station to Accra sports stadium he would have not taken this recent decision''. The point here, concerning the reference Akomea made to the Ohene Djan stadium is based on shallow mindedness and lack of good knowledge of the english language. The reason is that grammatically the stadium in question has already been named as the ACCRA SPORTS STADIUM many years ago and not just SPORTS STADIUM therefore renaming it as Ohene Djan stadium raised uproar in the minds of many intelligent folks, except the ones who hang on tribalism to argue their points.

ACCRA as a noun in this context was used as an adjective to qualify the stadium, which means the stadium has name. Why is there an uproar today over the attempt of AMA to rename the hockey stadiun after Atta Mills? It is b'cos it has a name that qualifies it, and that's Madam Okoh. At this stage I see Akomea as a fellow with small mind of tribal sentiments therefore I will advise him to allow wisdom, knowledge, intelligence and discrection to lead him before calling people like Vanderpuije as power drunk.
