If people vote their own DCEs/MCEs, there is the likelihood of people who are very competent but poor not being able to contest for elections. In most areas, the people are so tribal that people will vote one of their own and minorities there can never win elections there will not be anywhere near possibility.
Let us consider some of our MPs. They have been in such position for over 4 terms and still continue to contest to be MPs. Yet some of them are just useless in parliament but because they have amassed wealth while in their current positions, they are able to influence any election by bribing the electorates.
Sometimes Mahama has to put his feet down against some of his own party members who are always in the air to criticize him as if they have no chain of communication. Mahama cannot please all people in Ghana. We also should not lose sight of the fact that as president, Mahama should choose people he can work with as the NDC is factionalized. The blame lies on Mahama if his appointees do not function but not some regional chairman etc.
